My Response to Obama's Linkin question
Obviously, we must apply all available resources to address the state of affairs that is our country's current maliase. Innovations and Investments are essential to fostering the needed change of direction from where we are (to where we need to go.) But we all need to dig deep in getting to the correct information and details on how to solve energy problems, educational barriers, market shortcomings and other tangential (and possibly, causation) problems in our society. We need to utilize all the brain power of America, not just the saints, but often, the very sinners that have much more of a handle on the details we need to correct the problem. (Assuming they will help.) Call it outside the box thinking, or better yet, no-box thinking with a goal to be reached and a true desire to reach it. Simple Root-cause analysis may lead us to a differing idea of what is causing our multitude of problems. (Assuming that you can coordinate 30-40 viewpoints in a room of self-interested people.) Sacrifice. As hard as it is, Americans are going to have to sacrifice more before it can get any better. Our grandfathers did prior to and during WWII. It may come down to that: the ability to restrain ourselves while promoting better practices in the future. It may have to get worse before it gets better. I think, Mr. Obama, you have vision. Now it come down to the details - too many, too varied to be discussed as the answer here - but within the vast array of minds and philosophies in America, their are true answers. I hope you (and others on the quest) find them. Or else, this country might not be the world power in 2100 that it was in 1945.
This video, along with Senator Obama's, may be the single most powerful message that anyone could offer for our future:

The below is a suggestion that has been posed to the folks from Body of War that would include some of the substance from Senator Barack Obama:

After emailing the letter first publised here (Why Obama), I received four responses the next morning.
1. From a Republican who says she doesn't know what "change" people are talking about or why they want to change it.
2. From a friend who said, "Send it to Obama's campaign chair. You convince ME."
3. From a Christian friend who is worried that Oprah is touting the Course on Miracles and that Obama's Christianity might be skewed. I wrote her a thoughtful reply, told her that Obama probably hasn't even had time to watch Oprah this past year, and sent information and quotes (from Obama) from the ISSUES site on faith (barackobama.com)
BARACK OBAMA'S ANSWERS as found on choose your candidate washington post CHOOSE YOUR CANDIDATE http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/politics/interactives/candidatequiz/?BARACK OBAMA SAYS:
TOP PRIORITIES:My top priority as president will be ending this warin Iraq, a war that should have never been authorizedand never been waged. In doing so, I will work to keepour country safe from terrorists and to restoreAmerican credibility around the world. Providinguniversal health care to the 47 million Americans whocurrently do not have it will be another top priorityof my administration, as will combating global warmingand putting our country on the path toward energyindependence. But all of the issues that I havefocused on in this campaign -- whether it's creating a21st century education system and fighting poverty orachieving comprehensive immigration reform andstrengthening our economy -- are vitally important andmust be prioritized by the next president. And all ofthese issues share one thing in common: in order tofully address them, we have to do more than changepolitical parties. We have to fundamentally change ourpolitics and transform the way business is done inWashington.
