A special day to thank the people for their love, compassion and actions that positively impact the recipient’s life. In this respect, the nation is thankful to the brave men and women in harm’s way for their sacrifices in many different ways, most importantly their precious life. Within the community, there are many benevolent individuals dedicating their time and resources for others’ welfare. They deserve acknowledgment by the members. Then the family unit, where the relationship is strengthened with genuine care, affection and understanding for each other unconditionally recognized in a subtle or profound manner.

I'm wondering what other christian bloggers opinions are about Obama's recent comment in Turkey about the USA not being a christian nation? I think he's right in some ways that it's not defined by religion like some countries are, but christianity still permeates(sp?) the country very deeply. It may not officially be anything and that's fine, but it's an interesting idea to bring up. I know of many people who WOULD say the US is a Christian nation. I wrote another blog post about this and Obama's Christian t-shirts on my main website, but I'd like to know here what people's opinions are about this. It's something that' affects us all more than some of us might want to believe.

His poems, written by using traditional methods of Anatolian folk poetry , are mainly about the divine love and humandestiny.

In 1955, when racism was still a big issue in the United States of America, Ella Fitzgerald became the first African-American to perform at the Mocambo, after Marilyn Monroe had lobbied the owner for the booking. The booking was instrumental in Fitzgerald's career. Marilyn would promise the owner that she would appear every night (and be on time), and this way also fill the house--and she did, she was there every night, and she filled the house and: she was always on time! Their close friendship lasted for many years and Ella would sing Marilyn Monroe's famous 'My Heart Belongs To Daddy' in honor of her wonderful friend Marilyn Monroe, who died almost 34 years before she passed on in 1996, at age 79.

Today I saw something I never thought I would see; the Secretary of Defense to the United States of America, pleading on television. It wasn’t long ago that a country as financially and militarily insignificant as Turkey wouldn’t even dream of interfering with American interests. Now they are blatantly ignoring what was once the world’s most powerful nation.
The fact that Turkey is actively going after Kurds in Iraq is perhaps not so troublesome, (except for the Kurds obviously) but the fact that a country like Turkey would even dare to do this, indicates a drastic shift in the power balance of the world. This is troublesome. If Turkey had asked America to go after these Kurdish terrorists (or whatever they are) in accordance with the US government, it would have been normal. But they went in almost without asking, doing Lord knows what to these people, in almost direct opposition with America. That is alarming.
But America does nothing except maintaining they want it over with as quickly as possible. Turkey on the other hand doesn’t appear to be in any hurry. They know that America needs them, desperately need every ally they can get, even the reluctant ones. They need Turkey for its strategic location, so they are willing to overlook the actions of this, only partially democratic and hardly human rights inspired nation. I can’t help but wonder what the cost will be in the long run.
"It's very important that the Turks make this operation as short as possible and then leave," Gates said before heading to Ankara late Wednesday from India. "They have to be mindful of Iraqi sovereignty.

This past week, the ties between the United States and Turkey have been strained. The escalation of events began with the passing of a non-binding resolution (known as House Resolution 106), through the U.S. House Committee on Foreign Affairs. The question was whether events that took place during the First World War with Turkish pursuit of Armenians were considered genocide. The Foreign Affairs Committee has voted that genocide took place.
