In case you missed Joe Biden on the "Today" show this morning, this is a must watch. You'll see why Barack chose Joe to be his running mate. I like the way he doesn't take any guff from Meredith Viera as she tries to attribute Joe Biden to the term "sleazy" when Obama's ad is actually attributing the use of "sleazy" to Joe Klein in Time magazine:

And now McCain is making quips about Barbra Streisand's fundraiser for Barack in Beverly Hills:
“He talked about siding with the people… just before he flew off to Hollywood for a fundraiser with Barbra Streisand and his celebrity friends. Let me tell you, my friends, there is no place I’d rather be than here, with the working men and women of Ohio.”
I don't know about you, but I'm fed up with all the garbage that the McCain-Palin campaign is churning out, and I've signed up to go knocking on some doors in PA this weekend. It's time to set the people straight! It's time to fight back! I'm fired up and ready to go! What about you?!! Are you ready to knock on some doors?!!
On the Today show today, Ann Curry said to Senator Obama: "You've never run a business. Why should Americans trust you as President in this economy?"
One important piece of proof to examine in detail would be the accomplishments to date in running his campaign. Leaders in business set goals and generate results. Exceptional leaders choose a great team, and lead that team to generate exceptional results.
By any measure, the Obama campaign's results to date are exceptional. Quantitatively, he has raised significantly more money than the other candidates. He has attracted significantly more individual donors, more donors contributing less than $100, and many more donors who are new to the political process. His campaign sets priorities, spends appropriately, and as far as I know, does not run deficits.
Qualitatively, Barack Obama has done it by keeping people in the loop via a constantly updated website, one which encourages active participation by voters via events, blogs, personal stories and message boards. Creative, innovative, highly successful tactics, such as "Dinner with Barack," tell the story of a campaign that knows how to market and motivate - - just as the best business leaders do. Showcasing the ability to create and run a campaign of this quality is a great piece of evidence that Senator Obama knows how to run a high-stakes, complex effort, and run it well.
Senator Clinton was interviewed by Matt Lauer on yesterday's Today Show. Matt Lauer showed a photo of Senator Clinton & President Clinton with "slumlord" Resco, and Clinton defended her "slumlord" attack by saying she was only defending herself from a direct attack by Senator Obama. The debate transcript shows this self-defense plea to be completely false as she launched the "slumlord" attack immediately after Obama said "I agree" to Clinton's statement that Republican ideas were bad ideas. Matt Lauer erroneously agreed that she was responding with a counterpunch. So I wrote an email to Matt Lauer of the Today Show, not something to do very often because it sucks your energy and diverts it from more productive work.
We are against this kind of campaigning, but we are also up against it, so we must keep working. Here in Ohio we should be doing our utmost to register new voters before the Feb 4 deadline. My email to Matt Lauer with quotes from Today Show and the SC debate plus links are in the extended post.

Yesterday in the Senate, Barack pressed General Petraeus and Ambassador Crocker on their defense of the administration’s failed Iraq policy:
“[W]e have now set the bar so low that modest improvement in what was a completely chaotic situation, to the point where now we just have the levels of intolerable violence that existed in June of 2006 is considered success, and it's not…And if we're there the same place a year from now, can you please describe for me any circumstances in which you would make a different recommendation and suggest it is now time for us to start withdrawing our troops? Any scenario? Any set of benchmarks that had not been met?”
This morning, Barack appeared onThe Today Show to speak about his Iraq policy speech.
