I though I’d start posting some vote signs as election day is just around the corner and early voting is already underway in many states. If you can vote early, find your polling place and go do so!

I’ve provided these signs as ready-to-print PDFs in both standard letter paper (8½ by 11 inches) and larger tabloid paper (17 by 11 inches) sized versions. Every home printer can handle the standard paper size and most copy shops can print the larger tabloid size. See my How to Create Your Own Signs post for tips on how to make your own.

Here are some additional updated versions of the signs featuring the Obama Biden text with the “O” logo. These signs are ready-to-print PDFs and currently sized for tabloid sized paper (17 by 11 inches) - if you’re looking for standard letter sized paper (8½ by 11 inches) see my previous Free Printable Obama Biden Signs post. The contents of all the PDFs here are vector based and should scale up nicely if you wish to print at even larger sizes.

I’m providing this larger size to make it even easier to print out and display. Tabloid size is a common size that can be printed out at nearly every copy shop.

Halloween night

Tonight my husband and I went out for less than 2 hours to celebrate halloween.

We returned at dark but I still noticed our Obama sign was shredded.

I immediatly pulled out a back-up sign from my truck (which I got from our local campaign office) and replaced it. I understand this is going on around the town right now, but I took it for granted that since the sign was so close to our home that no one would mess with it... I WAS WRONG.

I am mad and very disappointed in the actions taking place in America right now!

Help me deal with this...I am getting tired of the hateful and ignorant actions!

I feel that if the sign is in my yard...it is my property!!!!

Isn't it a crime to destroy something that is considered my property????

Can I be both Pro-Life and Pro-Obama?

This week I was told by two people that they were voting for McCain because abortion is just such a terrible thing. I totally agree that abortion is horrifying. I've seen the pictures. I've been pregnant, a joy for me each time. I know people for whom it was not a joy and abortion was the only option they saw available. I wish they would have felt differently, but I will not judge them for their decision, because I have no way of understanding what they were going through.

On the other hand, I really would like the amount of abortions in our country to be reduced. Realistically, I understand the number will never be zero, but what could be done to limit that number?

Faced with the two McCain supporters basing their votes solely on their pro-life convictions, I headed to Google and found some statistics. I was thrilled to find the Matthew 25 Network expressing the views I have held for so long:

Studies Show that Economic Support for Women and Families Reduces Abortion
Economic assistance to low income families is correlated with a 20% lower abortion rate. Across the entire United States, this translates into 200,000 fewer abortions.
In the 1990s, states with more generous grants to women, infants and children under the age of five as provided by the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program had a 37% lower abortion rate.
Higher male employment in the 1990s was associated with a 29% lower abortion rate.
The abortion rate has declined most rapidly from 1990-1996 when there was an economic boom under President Clinton. While rates have continued to decrease, they have declined less rapidly in recent years when poverty rates have been climbing.

What this says to me, is that help is better than hate. When women face an unplanned pregnancy, do we say: "Wow - too bad for you. Don't ask me for a hand out - but you'd better not be a baby killer," or can we say: "Wow - this is a huge moment in your life, here are some programs to help you be the kind of mother you would like to be."

In conclusion, YES, I can be an Obama supporter and be Pro-Life! I haven't even gone into the topic of supporting life in other ways, such as less war, and less pollution. I believe this is a very important point to make this election year! Please don't be a single issue voter, and spread the news that you can support LIFE and OBAMA!

Thoughts on Obama Signs Being Vandalized in Whitman/Latah County

It seems as if everyday when I open the paper, another call has come in to a local police entity about an Obama campaign sign being defaced, set on fire, or just plain stolen. I am curious what has happened in the rest of the state and across this country. I doubt that this is only happening on the Palouse. It makes me sad though, or I should really say dissapointed, about the folks that I like to call neighbors. Therefore, I am going to commit myself. For every blurp that is in the Moscow/Pullman Daily News about this (which is a crime), I will make 5 calls and send 5 emails to help bridge the divide of knowledge that is evident by the messages sometimes painted or burned onto the damaged signs! I would challenge, no charge everyone to match me on this. Don't let this go unpunished. Report vandalism. Don't tolerate ignorance.

AUCTION: 2 'original' yard signs left

All right NewSmyrnaforObama, I have 2 of the 'original' plastic yard signs left.

Since we can't get these originals anymore, it's time for a Barack auction!

Here's the plan:

1. Go to our New Smyrna for Obama group donation page: http://my.barackobama.com/page/outreach/view/maingroup/newsmyrnaforobama and make a donation. Be sure to use the 'Donation' button below the 'Thermometer' or I won't get a notice from the Obama campaign of your donation.

2. When i get confirmation from the Obama campaign of the donation, the 2 highest 'donators' will get the signs.

Signmaking!

We can talk and talk about what we think about the Obama yardsign policy. I understand and respect their decision, because in the end it DOES indicate their faith in US to take charge.

We need to make our own signs, and the best way to do that is through community organizing via volunteers.

Signmaking needs people, supplies, and a good location, whether it's the local office or a volunteer's craft room at home. I use a foldup long table on the driveway. We can make yardsigns and large streetcorner signs. Use a posterboard and an X-acto knife to create stencils and spraypaint 'em. Use a wood plank and taper a 2X4 to create a large, weather and theft-resistant yardsign. Most of us have some scrapwood lying around, and if not, go to Home Depot and have them cut a plank into sign-size portions.

Also, make a sign for your Senate and Representative candidate of applicable, or use the same sign for all three.

Message signs about Republicans and government can also work.

Well as we saw today,there were a small group of childish fools in the crowd today at the Bank United Center in Coral Gables, Florida.Please,are they really serious?They were obviously $paid$,so were the ones before.Trick tactics once again,trying to stir up false talk and hope that the uneducated will somehow fall into the trap.It's plain to see.

Come on,one sign said-"Blacks against Obama"they wish,that's just plain ole'funny!!! Oh yeah and the KKK.That's the best they can do.Hey yall,I guess we are doing pretty damn good for those little leprechauns to pull one like that!They are doing so bad,they have to go and create an illusion,wow!

Next their going to pull a rabbit out of Sarah Palin's ---!Really folks,I wouldn't be surprised!!!We are not falling for that BS!I don't think many will.(Cheap shots,games & kiddie play,they will definitly be the ensnared ones in their own plot,and that is a guarantee!) dealing with sign stealers

Apparently political signs in favor of Obama have been disappearing from people's yards in the vacinity, according to a fellow Obama supporter I was talking to recently. I know there are always a few neanderthals out there who steal signs in any campaign, but later, I spoke to my father, who lives in Virginia, and he mentioned Obama signs were disappearing at an alarming rate down there. It's hard not to drift over to wondering if there's a (cue music - dunh dunh dunh!!!) conspiracy! Well, in any case, maybe there are a couple of things we can do to thwart or discourage sign-grabbers. As in maybe covering the top of the sign with vaseline to gross-out the owners of the thieving hands (they wouldn't know what it is), or tie hard-to-see fishing line to the sign post, which in turn could be connected to a jerry-rigged burglar alarm, such as a hidden bunch of tin-cans or an air-horn. Any other ideas out there? We could have some creative fun with this one!

as the _perfect_ "judo" reversal tonic to the "Country First" nationalist jingo of the McBush/Yosemite Sarah campaign. Why?

#1 Reason: This campaign HAS to be about the PEOPLE of AMERICA, not about the repeated, and repeated, and REPEATED lies, half-truths and non-issues that hide like like rodents behind the guise of Patriotism.

We have to re-frame this as a "People Power" -(with 2,000,000+ INDIVIDUAL CONTRIBUTIONS !!!!!) campaign - and break it down in the SIMPLEST terms!
