Fans of Saturday Night Live should check out comedy genius Chevy Chase's review of this week's SNL season premiere on Huffington Post (Sept 15), as he makes some very interesting and pointed comments about both Tina Fey and Amy Poehler's performance, as well as the candidates who were portrayed.
Here's my favorite Chase quote from the article: "The more that the nation understands that McCain has lost his mind, the better it is really."
Okay. Before the campaign gets really serious again, here is your chance to vote for Sarah Palin -- that is for the best impersonation.
And there are two really great impersonators too. You may already have seen Saturday Night Live's "A Nonpartisan Message from Sarah Palin & Hillary Clinton". In case you missed it, click on the pic for Tina Fey and Amy Poehler in their SNL opening skit:
But Tina's got competition! Here name is Lisa Vega (aka Lisa Donovan), who was once featured on MADtv, and she has done three Palin sketches already. The first had her corner Obama on a stairwell as he comes home, and she browbeats him till he turns into the "angry black man"; this may explain why the clip is no longer available. But her parental guidance skit called "Is McCain Palin's Bitch?" is already a YouTube classic, and showcases the other side of Sarah:
You can click on the photo. That's Dan Oster as John MCcain.
So here's your guilt-free chance to vote for Sarah Palin (impersonator, that is). Please cast your vote below on the comment section.
I have to admit... I feel sorry for the Clinton Supporters. Having Hillary totally slammed like this..

Granted as an Obama supporter I was laughing and thinking "Good grief, I cannot believe they did that..." but there is ALOT of truth to it!
Check out this recent SNL skit. Particularly the last line.

McCain's support of the Bush Iraq doctrine -- billions of dollars wasted. Clinton's credibility on Iraq -- like a $3 bill. Saturday Night Live's Petraeous congressional hearings parody: PRICELESS!

Of course it would come to this. The news media entertain while comedy shows deliver political spin.
Having apparently boosted Hillary Clinton's campaign by playing the media-is-too-easy-on-Obama skit immediately before her wins in Texas and Ohio, and the Hillary-at-3AM ad last week, Lorne Michaels, the executive producer of Saturday Night Live has gone out of his way with the NY Times and LA Times to dispel the impression his program in any way backs the former First Lady for the Democratic nomination. He was reacting to the two skits and the bitches-get-stuff-done endorsement from former SNL cast member and 30 Rock diva Tina Fey that have raised suspicion of political agenda at work.
If you follow the money, however, are there more clues to some intentional or subliminal motives? Lorne Michaels has been an active political donor over the years. The largest and most consistent beneficiary of his largesse since 2000 has been Chris Dodd and the Chris PAC. Dodd withdrew from the current race in January and has since endorsed Obama. But Michaels has also regularly given to John McCain since 2000, including donations in March and May of last year totaling $2300, the maximum allowed for the primaries. Is Michaels on some level helping McCain, who he vows will not receive additional donations now that he has captured the GOP nomination, by trying to ensure that Clinton becomes his opponent? Just asking.
Mr. Micheals' remonstrations might be more convincing if he had not selected comic-musician Fred Armisen to impersonate Barack Obama. The otherwise-talented Armisen has failed to capture any of the charisma and inspiration that make the candidate so appealing. Instead, his is a dour and dumb Barack Obama Who Never Smiles, guaranteed not to garner any sympathy when viewed alongside the simpatico Hillary Clinton of Amy Poehler.
At the start of this season, Michaels streamlined the SNL staff in what was viewed as a cost-cutting measure. It was also reported earlier this year that the chubby Kenan Thompson was on a diet so he could play Obama. When the writers' strike came to an end, tryouts for the part at SNL were widely reported. Does Michaels' decision not to sign a new impersonator indicate he does not expect Obama will be in the running much longer, so he is saving money with someone already on staff?
Art imitates art. Meanwhile, as I reported previously, it is now confirmed that Seth Myers will play Eliot Spitzer on SNL this Saturday. Not clear yet who will play Kristen or if they will in fact call the segment "Superdelegates Gone Wild".
It can't have escaped anyone who's watched Saturday Night Live for the past three weeks that the show is overtly indulging in a pro-Clinton propaganda campaign. For three consecutive weeks, they've launched attacks on Senator Obama and given Hillary the most glowing endorsement. Oddly, the show's Republican producer Lorne Michaels claims to support Sen. Obama (!) One would think that after destroying Al Gore in 2000 by blurring the lines between him and Mr.Bush that SNL would have learned it's lesson. But, alas, no. Tina Fey has coined a dumb, sandbox slogan "b#%ches get things done"- oh please! This isn't about gender. We should be better than that. We've had a retard in office for 8 years and now we're meant to get stuck with b#%ch too? Since when has being a bully become a pre-requisite for becoming president?
The show is a reminder that some Americans can't handle a worthy candidate. Instead they'd rather see us get stuck with a nominee who's main qualification is that she is married to a former president who is a felon and was, for all intents and purposes, impeached. Worse still, Mrs. Clinton will lose in the general. It's exasperating!
Did CNN play a part in the Texas/Ohio Primary's Outcome? It has taken me a while to feel like writing anything after Tuesday's let down... I did, however, get up the strength to write a comment to cnn.com to point to the part they played in how Tuesday's Texas/Ohio primaries turned out. Here's the little love note I sent to CNN today: "Well...If only I could have been a fly on the wall in your staff meeting the week prior to the March 4th primaries... What would I have heard? Perhaps the dialogue may have gone something like this... "Okay people, we have to let up on all the gushing over Obama. I know, I know... he's fantastic and fabulous in every way that counts, that's clear - the country is clearly saying that. And look, I find myself daydreaming about this guy and how great it would be to have him at the helm too, but we've gotta snap out of this, people! We really have to do something to appease that whining Hillary. We have got to totally slant our coverage in Hillary's favor this week. If not, if we're not careful here, we might actually help this black man get into the white house!!! Woah! you say, did we really go that far? Yeah, we did! So it's time to do some major damage control. Starting today, we're launching 'POD' - Project Obama Destruction. Okay, so heads up, here's what we'll do...we'll totally run every negative story that's out there, I mean everything from the Muslim costume pictures, we'll stay on Tony Rezko's trial night and day, the NAFTA/Canada comment - run that one into the ground, people! We'll totally re-run all the Saturday night live clips. Hillary's got this great 'Red Phone' ad... we'll run that one day and night. Be sure to try to catch him looking flustered when we bombard him with uncomfortable questions all at once. Cut him off if he tries to explain. Do anything, I mean ANYTHING - negative projections -nothing is off limits here - just make sure you make him look bad!! Rush Limbaugh wants this thing to get 'bloody', oh, we know how to deliver 'bloody'!! Besides, do y'all realize that if a nominee is selected after this Texas/Ohio race, people will tune OUT! Do any of us really want THAT!!!? Do you realize our viewership is soaring at all time record high? The longer we keep this race going, people, the longer the public will tune in! Hello!! Can you say, 'cha-ching'!! Okay folks, we've got our work cut out for us this week. Go work your magic - work those PODs! Alright everyone, crowd around, c'mon, get close, hands together in the middle...ready? 'P-O-D, GO!! P-O-D,-GO!! P-O-D, GOOOOO!!!! Whoo Hoo!! Good meeting guys!!" Can't you just see it? I'm sure that'll be an email I'll never get a response from! I'm Vinette D and that's my opinion!

And what of the debate and the cartoon?
It's more entertaining than Fixed news but seems contrived with HRC appearance to ? BO.
Actor playing BO is neither elouquent nor can he / has he smiled. Cartoon seems extreme, but perhaps I am letting my political feeling obscure artistic representation.
I remember from 2000 John McCain always had good roles in the SNL cartoons. While I live in Portland, Oregon, I am lucky to get WNBC Ch 4 NYC and saw the program live. We need to just keep a goin'.
YAY!
I just happened to see Barack on SNL this evening. He was at "hillary's haloween party dressed as himself, cause he "believes in being himself EVEN on halloween". He got to do the opening "Live from New York" thing. He did sooooo well!YAY
