Biofuels are being converted into Ethnol to use as a resource in transporatation fuels.
Greenfield Ethanol Inc and Enerkem are combining their technology to bring renewable energy to Canada and the United States.
A plant is going to be built in Pontotoc, Mississippi as well.
I've noted more details about this on Idea Girl Consulting Word press.
Read about the Westbury, Quebec plant here.

I am working with the Indiana Renewable Energy Association (www.indianarenew.org) which is a state chapter of the American Solar Energy Society (www.ases.org). We are sponsoring solar and renewable energy tours throughout the state of Indiana on Sat., Oct. 3, 2009. If you would like to help us demonstrate to other Hoosiers that solar and wind systems can and do work in Indiana, please join us. I believe it is critical that we educate the public that these technologies are possible now and to support President Obama and the US Congress to enact real clean energy legislation this year.
For details e-mail me lauraarnold@indianarenew.org.
One of the main reasons that Changing World Technologies was having so many money issues was because of several shut downs due to turkey odor problems bothering the surrounding communities.
Now a new technology has been researched and developed to transform the odors into Carbon Dioxide and Pure Water.
A process that requires little money and lots of ingenuity!
Our renewable energies people should be taking a look at this new technology and implementing it as soon as possible!

Just a word of thanks to eco inventions for giving me this link! :)
Since implementing stringent "green" guide lines in our home of 5, we have reduced our garbage from 3-4 bags to not even a tall kitchen sized bag a week. Every purchased item's packaging is revied of what part is recicable, items that we can compost we do and some items can be used again (Every bread bag makes a great lunch bag!) To the dismay of our recicling pick up crew we are now sporting 6 recicling cans in our driveway!!! Oh by the way,my three teenagers will take this lesson along with them as their move on in life and may be they will lead a less waistful life.
However too many times I see packaging materials that can not be recicled.
Why not introduce a tax to be paid by those companies that do NOT provide a recicable packaging material. In addition we should introduce a tax for those companies NOT using recicled materials for their packaging.
These actions would eventually force companies to use more recicled goods, increasing the production of these materials. Yes it would drive up the price of your favored cheap brand cookie because it's manufacturer now has to pay extra to use the cheaper packaging material. That's Ok though, its a small price to pay for becoming greener. Aditional revenues gained by the tax should be used to reward the greener companies and for investment of greener energy.
One of the things that created the millions of dollars in debt was the high utility costs that CWT had to deal with to do the Thermal Depolymerization process to create oil and gasoline from garbage. I think i've come up with an idea to help with those costs. They should look into RETSCreens technology for gas turbines. A unit that creates heat and hydro for City Hall in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. This technology should be used in all government offices, to save money. This would be a great idea for Obama's Green Team as well as The Canadian Government Office Buildings. It should actually be considered worldwide.

There was an article featured by the Green Team – Matthew Van Dongen and Tiffany Mayer in the St Catharines Standard today about RETScreen International. You can email them at: standard@stcatharinesstandard.ca Subject: Green Team
RETScreen International is Renewable Energy and Energy Efficient Technologies. This software program has been used for local water power generators and biomass plants. RETScreen is a federal government software program that evaluates potential renewable energy projects. For sustainable energy worldwide and has over 200,000 users. Greg Leng is the Director of the Natural Resources Canada Program. The software program was created by Greg Leng at the University of Massachusett’s Master’s Thesis and it’s aimed at professional engineers, planners and architects. But it can be used to estimate energy production, building costs and green house --gas savings for projects of any size.
Non- technical homeowners make use of the program too. RETScreen will tell you if you have enough solar energy in your area to justify installing a solar water heater. It will determine how much energy, and money you’ll save and provide a list of product supplies. Larger Product Developers will use the program to cut costs on preliminary research and “screens out the bad projects” quickly.
It was used to determine whether to build a wind farm in Niagara. The question was; Is it worthwhile pursuing this project? In past it might have cost you $50,000 to $100,000 to answer that question. Expert Program will do it for $500 or $1,000. The Program can save millions of dollars for fledgling green energy development projects. Greg Leng said the program has saved about $4 billion over the last decade.
They say that, “Projects associated with RETScreen will keep the equivalent of 20 million tones of carbon dioxide annually out of the environment by 2012.”
It’s a proven money saver – the Federal Government gives out the software for free. “The goal of the program has always been to remove barriers to a much broader implementation of clean energy, not to store them up,” Leng said.
The United Nations, The World Bank and even NASA have all invested in RETScreen over the last decade. The program is available in 35 languages. In St Catharines, Rankin Construction used the program for a “ball park” potential of its proposed hydro power project on the Welland Canal by Engineer Jordan Beckhuis. The company is now finishing the last of the three two-megawatt turbines using canal water to pump out electricity.
This software program is being used in over 170 Universities and Colleges. If you want to check out the program for yourself visit: http://www.retscreen.net/ang/home.php
You can also watch a 2 minute video at: http://www.retscreen.net/ang/video.php
Today, as Virginians and residents of the 35th District celebrate Earth Day, it’s a great opportunity to take this time and reflect where we are and where we are going in terms of responsible, renewable green energy that both protects our environment and provides jobs for the Commonwealth. As we look to the future of our families, community and Commonwealth, we can all agree that strengthening Virginia’s economy, protecting our precious natural resources and building an exciting, renewable energy future will be the key to ensuring a healthier community in which to live and work. The future of our environment is an issue which transcends politics. However, as delegate it would be my responsibility to fight for policies which protect our environment, strengthen our economy and compliments the efforts people make on a daily basis to make Virginia a better place. According to a recent poll, 76% of Virginians think that global warming is real and will adversely affect our environment. Capitalizing on alternative energy sources and investing in smart, green technology that taps into local talents and resources will help ensure Virginia becomes and remains a leader in the stewardship for a better community for us all.
The campaign could use your help so please sign up today to volunteer! Any amount of time will help us reach our goal. After all, TOGETHER WE CAN!

President Barack Obama's Plan for Renewable Energy.
http://www.renewableenergyworld.com/rea/news/article/2009/02/update-house-passes-final-version-of-stimulus-package
"Obama wants to spend $150 billion over the next decade to create what it calls, "a clean energy future." It's plan would aim to diversify the nation's energy sources by encouraging more renewables, and it would reduce oil comsumption and cut carbon emissions from fossil fuels."
*excerpt from Technology Review - Friday April 10th, 2009 -Deciphering Big Oil's Retreat from Renewables.

CWT - Changing World Technologies is all about renewable energy. Brian Appels company can turn a cities TRASH into RENEWABLE ENERGY. It can also turn AGRICULTURAL WASTE into RENEWABLE ENERGY.
Watch the video and see how Organic Material (anything with Carbon) is converted to oil, gas or a solid.
The United States has 12 Billion Tons of Solid Waste each year.
Garbage trucks take 323 million trips to carry the trash to the dump each year.
CWT has a pilot plant in Philedelphia that uses TDP- Thermal Depolymerization technology (Thermal Conversion Process) to convert your garbage to reuseable oil, gas, and coal
This company had to file Chapter 11 Bankruptcy protection in March of 2009. Idea Girl Consulting would like to highly recommend that President Obama's Green Team speak with Brian Appel and look at his innovative plans for the future and how it could revolutionize the renewable energy technologies of the world.
Next week you are planning to pass a bill about renewable energy concerning hydro usage and automobiles. You need ideas from people who have taken a "renewable energy" concept and made it work.
I would like to extend this invitation to Mr Steven Chu, The Environmental Protection Agency - Lisa Jackson, The White House Council on Environamental Policy - Nancy Sutley, The Director of Energy and Climate Change - Carol Browner, The Chairman of the select commitee on Energy Independence- Edward Markey, To the Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology - John Holdren, The President of the United States Barack Obama , The President's Green Team and to Brian Appel- The Chief Executive Officer & Chairman of CWT (Changing World Technologies). I believe that all of you would benefit from listening to ideas from Brian Appel and consider a plan to stimulate jobs and create new technologies together.
You can twitter "The Idea Girl" if you have more ideas to add to this article and I would be happy to post them on my OB site.
With incentives for commercial buildings and warehouses to implement this renewable energy technology, which also reduces green house gas, creates jobs, creates growth, reduces the trade deficit (oil), and strengthens the US dollar; this green energy technology will also give the US economy a boost.
The increase in demand will also result in more competition, research, innovations, and improvements. With the installations being concentrated in cities (commercial buildings) any maintenance required should also be competitive.
Putting Obama in office was just the beginning. We’ve won a major battle but not the whole war. Now we have the equally daunting and critical challenge of making sure that Obama is able to fulfill the promise that he represents. We need to keep working to take back our democracy and advance Obama’s progressive agenda.
That’s why I’m working with a network of progressive people throughout Maryland to get communities across the state organized and mobilized to in support of building a new clean green, inclusive energy economy and bold federal climate action – two major priorities for president Obama. We’ve teamed up with an amazing national grassroots climate campaign called 1Sky whose goal is to build volunteer climate action teams in every community that will push our congressional leaders to be champions of bold federal climate and clean energy policy. For more info go to http://local.1sky.org/en/.
As you may know, Maryland Congresspeople including House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, Chris Van Hollen, and John Sarbanes are extremely influential and will have a big impact on the type of climate policy that congress passes. By influencing them we can have a huge influence on the climate fight, but we need to act now because Congress is working on climate legislation as we speak.
2009 is going to be the pivotal year for climate action! If you care about the issue this is the year to act. You can make a difference in just a few hours a month. Help us make history. Please contact me today to let me know if your interested in joining our local 1Sky climate precinct team!

Energy news - While everyone is focused on what Obama will do with green energy, it is pointed out that Canada is the largest, nearest, most reliable, and friendliest source of oil the U.S. has. Obama would be smart to enhance that relationship even further.
I am thrilled to see this personal blog feature on this site and being able to be a part of a society making a historical change in the next four years.
Not only will our country experience a historical President, but we will also see a historical Clean Energy movement.
In the past two days, I have read three news articles about governments around the country already taking measures for better home energy alternatives. From the town of Islip, Long Island which approved a code to allow residential wind turbines to Dominion Virginia Power now offering their customers the option to use clean energy, our nation is now on the cusp of a major 'green' movement which willl hava long lasting impact on our society.
Each day, I look forward to receiving news on this new alternative energy front.
My blog site, Energy-Efficient-Home-Improvement.com will continue to monitor the latest changes in the home energy efficiency market.
Thank you President elect Barrack Obama for providing us the people to be a part of our government and we as a nation will come together as never before seen in US history.
God bless America!
Jim Nelson says savvy investors can make huge profits in the first 100 days of the Obama presidency. Three sectors facing a makeover under the new administration are biotechnology, renewable energy and defense. Jim says new legislation and funding could mean big gains for these three companies…
I am working with a team to encourage and enable processes for grassroots economic recovery. While our new Obama administration takes form, we have to design solutions where we live, share our innovations, and learn from past community action models.
See our initial ideas on economic revitalization “. . . block by block, brick by brick, calloused hand by calloused hand.”. at http://www.indigodev.com/RecoveryNow!.html
Please send stories of this sort of local and regional action to add to our resources page. We plan to develop this page into a wiki for open-source sharing on the process and content of economic recovery from the ground up.
