With only days to go until the election, John McCain is publicly grasping for straws. At this late stage in the game he is still trying to introduce new scandals into the discourse.
Barack Obama has not been on the national scene as long as John McCain, but people who know him well attest to his judgment, compassion, and ability to make decisions and advance programs that address the needs and goals all Americans. He has demonstrated this in his work in the Senate, campaign, proposals, two books, and travels around the world. Obama exhibits his calm, deliberate nature in everything he does. His ideas are comprehensive and address near- and long-term challenges. There is a good chance that what would be a surprise to McCain would not be a surprise to Obama. For example, it was easier for Obama to handle the financial crisis because he’d been aware of the problems on Wall Street and Main Street for some time and did not have to change his stance on regulation. Obama has gathered around him a world-class group of advisors. The Obama/Biden administration will handle the mess inherited from the Bush administration and any new crisis that occurs.
Have you ever considered running for Presidency of the USA. Do you realize how much investigating will be carried out? Your family too will be scrutinized. But the tickler of it all is your associates, no matter how close or distant the bonds are between you and them. The truth of it all is that we all have something in our past that may look questionable under such careful scrutiny. When we look at the two Candidates this closely, test results are very clear to me. Barack Obama’s although he has some bumps along the way had always made decision that showed his integrity. He was never hot off the cuff and running to out fires not yet started.
Tried Tested And True
There is much ado about who can
Really be the peoples’ best man
Intelligent and with diverse prowess
Experienced to facilitate certain success
Deliberately choosing to be fully tested
Tossing privacy aside for your life to be vetted
Encouraging the public to see who you are
Showing them you microscopically and not from afar
There is no Presidential Candidate in history
Equaled to Obama under such scrutiny
Dear friends the darkest sides of his past
Are associations with men whose affiliations didn’t last
None of them influenced Obama to be less than he became
Didn’t cause him to live a life of shame
There has been grilling, mud slinging and the a broken economy
Reactions have remained Presidential and cool with integrity
Unmatched by others, so there is one thing left to do
Elect Barack Obama, the Candidate Tried, Tested and True
Rudy Giuliani, in an interview on ABC's "Good Morning America," made the claim that Sarah Palin would have been ready for 9/11.
In an interview Wednesday on ABC's "Good Morning America," Giuliani was asked, "If she were the president on 9/11, you would have been confident?" Giuliani responded: "I'd be confident that she'd be able to handle it. She's been a governor of a state, she's been mayor of a city."

This blog is directly addressed to Senator Barack Obama. In the name of GOD and you (Mr. Obama); I am ready to assist in any effort directed by you in this time of major concern. I am an IT specialist with over a decade of management experience that happens to be built like a football player. So I make myself available for anything from assisting in the network and communication efforts to cleaning up debris from the street.
The time is now Mr. President, (to be), to take charge, to lead, to react without haste but with keen foresight, to do what you do best. I'm behind you!!!
Barack Obama has picked Joseph Biden to be his running mate in the White House race this year. I found out from CNN.com, not a campaign SMS. Not that I really care, but it makes for a half-way interesting title. Biden is first scheduled to speak on Wednesday 8/27. This is WAY too late. Yes, he's got to get "on message," but he made a glaring statement that he needs to clear up: In 2007, while Sen. Biden was exploring his own presidential bid, he stated that Barack Obama "was not ready yet" for the presidency. We KNOW the Republicans are going to jump all over that - ads, emails, spokespeople, press releases, the works. Sen. Biden MUST short-circuit them. Take the air out of the attack by addressing it first. Here's what I would say:
Sen. Biden: It is one of the greatest honors I have ever received to be called upon to serve my country alongside our next president, Barack Obama. As a sixth-term senator, I thought that Sen. Obama had a lot of guts to run for President - frankly, I wrote him off like most people did - I even said so publicly during my own presidential bid less than a year ago that he "was not ready yet." I could not have been more wrong. Having had the chance to work closely with Sen. Obama over the past few months after withdrawing my own bid for president, I can say unequivocally that Barack Obama is ready, capable, and determined to bring a new dawn to this nation as President of the United States. He is extremely intelligent, and wise beyond his years. As an expert on foreign policy, I have been extraordinarily impressed by his well-measured judgment. In fact, our Senate vote to go to war with Iraq, which even I mistakenly voted for, that Barack courageously voted against, despite the unpopularity of his stance, only confirms that Barack Obama has impeccable judgment on matters of foreign policy. We live in a new world. With new enemies. And we need new solutions. Our arrogance and unilateralism over the past eight years is failing miserably. It has tarnished not only our economy, but our credibility and power in the world. John McCain's willingness to continue that failing cavalier policy over the next four years will irreparably damage the social and financial future of the United States. We cannot fail. Barack Obama has shown the exact judgment our country needs in this 21st century of global economics and terrorism to re-establish America as the premier military and financial superpower of this planet. He is thoughtful yet decisive. He is respectful yet demands respect. Above all, he always has and always will place country first. In thought, words and action. America, you have a choice. One is to continue down this eight-year path we know leads to failure. The other is to change course and leave the archaism of the 20th century behind. Vote for America's brighter future. Vote for your own brighter future. Vote Barack Obama for President of the United States.

I'm the president of my school! WOO! Well here's my time to shine. I'm not going to change the world. I've accepted that (For Now). But still, I now finally have an opportunity to serve and to help! It might sound weird to you guys but I'm pretty sure that that's my calling. I live to change not just myself but the whole world. I'm going to start my life long fiasco tomorrow! My first act as president will be to help Teachers move from a condemned flooded school to a classroom intergrated office space. (I live in Iowa, the flooded place. Yeah, it's still not too good here but we manage) Anyway, My first time to prove myself not just to the punk rocker kid in the mirror but to my friends and family and community. I watched one of Obama's videos a while back and since then I've been a die hard supporter of the Obama campaign. The videos called "One Voice". I use it as my excuse to speak up and start changing the world. "...Starts with one voice..." - That's what Barack says, and thats what I'm going to do. Start with one voice, my voice, and inspire, motivate, and help anyone and everyone who needs it. As I always say - Life is as beautiful as you want to make it! -By that I mean it's up to you to fix the wrongs and create a better world. I'm ready for change!! It's gonna happen whether you like it or not!! All I can say to McCain is BRING IT ON!! WE KNOW OBAMA CAN LEAD!! Even with Britney Spears and Paris Hilton in the picture!! :)
Al-Maliki, Ahmenajahad, Palestine, Israel - Get ready for a peace deal!
Bush, Chaney - Time's Up!
Pelosci, Reid - Sorry, Change means you too!

OBAMA FOR PRESIDENT!!!!
This is a must see from the MSNBC Morning Joe program. Yes I hear you, Mica always seems to bias the comments so hillary looks good,, but take a listen to her father:

From a book by Joe Brewer and George Lakoff
The conservative view of the world as a dangerous place where military threats always lurk nearby is not conducive to the tasks that make our world safer: communicating effectively with leaders of other nations, building trust and forging lasting alliances across the globe, promoting peace through diplomacy and engaging in efforts to ease suffering through initiatives that build secure communities at home and abroad.
We need a president, not just a commander in chief.
This is a workable and usable line.
I do not wish for someone ready to be Commander in Chief.
I want someone to be President.
There is only one.
OBAMA OBAMA OBAMA

The current Democratic US presidential nomination was always going to be tough. Am sure Senator Obama is in this race, not because it's easy, but because there are challenges that lie ahead.
Barack has a clear vision on how change can be achieved in the White House administration from Nov 08. We will see desperate attempts being used in the media to try to halt the momentum within the Obama camp. However, this will count for nothing because we, his supporters, have already made up our minds to back Obama and that won't change.
So far, Senator Obama has won more states, more delegates and more votes. I believe this trend will continue way into the Aug 08 Democratic convention. We are in this race to win. Senator Obama is ready for McCain.
Fired up and ready to go!
Senator McCain is running for President of the United States based on experience. Senator Clinton is running for President of the Ten Largest States based on experience. Senator Obama is running for President of the United States based on change.
On two occasions in the past two weeks, Senator Clinton has indirectly endorsed John McCain for President over Senator Obama based on experience while touting her own. Senator Clinton and Senator McCain both believe that based on their experience as Board Members in Congress, they are qualified to hold the distinguished position of Chief Executive Officer of the United States of America.
The problem with their argument is that neither Senator Clinton, McCain nor Obama has ever had any executive experience in their entire lives. Very few members of Congress who run for President actually have executive experience which is why one hasn't been elected to the top executive job in almost 50 years!
In political campaigns, just like in war, the first casualty is always the truth!
Look we all get caught up in this experience debate and its been a great talking point for about a year but i think it needs to be looked at a little different.
If experience were everything then Joe Biden and Chris Dodd would be our candidates at this point. I don't knock Senator Clintons experience yet i think that the extra years of service are not an invaluable assest or tool.
I view experience as a bar that each candidate much reach to be an effective and competent president. From there on out experience plays little role and its judgement temperament, wisdom and consensus building that dictates the success of the president.
So I see all candidates having reached this minimum level of effectiveness in experience and the only reason we hear so much about it and so much rhetoric is because it is one of the few effective talking points against Barack Obama
I've been seeing the Clinton camp trying to pass the time lobbing mortars while they are stuck in their "Doldrums of February" trying to get some kind of wind in their sails, so I thought I would offer some thoughts today while many of you are getting revved up to go vote.
Who is the Underdog?
It is and always will be Obama. When there is a boxing match, a football game, a horserace or anything else that is competitive in nature, the underdog is the one who must outperform expectations to emerge victorious. That moniker is assigned only before a contest starts, not mid stream. Were the Patriots all of a sudden the Underdogs against the Giants because they were behind at different points in the game? Was Rocky no longer the underdog when he won a few rounds? It is nothing short of ridiculous to try to make Hillary Clinton the Underdog at any point until the nomination...Period!
Why does Hillary perform so poorly in Caucuses?
She likes to say it's because "regular" people can't vote because they are working, she says that it's just "activists" that show up. I think it is the enormous and obvious inspiration gap that is responsible. People are willing to take a vacation day to stand for Obama, they are willing to brave the elements and are proud to make their voices heard for everyone to see. Those "activists" are real people with real jobs that have been inspired to get involved and have answered Obama's call to action. I would also like to remind Senator Clinton that if were not for impassioned citizens turned "activists", she would not be in this nomination race at all. It was those same kinds of inspired "activists" that fought for her rights to matter as a woman. Odd that she shows them no respect.
Big state votes count more and represent the "real" electorate.
Is there such thing as a voter bigot? ... I think this is an obviously insane and disrespectful stand for anyone who wants lead our country and claims that she will take "our" voices to the White House. I don't think I need to expand on it any further, you get the drift.
Obama is all rhetoric without substance
This one really makes me laugh. Having been in the Obama camp since the beginning, I remember exactly what every major news outlet and a lot of supporters were saying in the early stages of the campaign, "What happened to the guy with the stirring and inspirational speeches that catapulted him to prominence?" MSM was bored by all of his policy speeches and clamoring for the fire they knew he had. He discussed fuel economy standards and dependence on foreign oil in detail in DETROIT, credit crises and economic responsibility on WALL STREET, technology and it's global impact at Google headquarters, foreign policy roundtables with quite a few ex-Clinton advisors now on his side, he talked about teachers and merit pay in front of a teacher's union. Just because Barack Obama has his finger on the pulse of the nation and knows when to deliver a load of inspiration or a load of policy wonkiness, don't think that the substance is not there by any stretch. His economic plan received an A to her C from the Washington Post, Google's hierarchy was thoroughly impressed with his well thought out policy ideas to keep America competitive in this global Internet age. That's just a few, the website covers them all in excruciation detail so I'll let you look up the rest.
I'll release my tax records....after I'm nominated.
This one really irks me. She says we can see her tax records AFTER she is nominated and that some of her White House records will be released from the Presidential library AFTER she is nominated. I find this to be the ultimate proof of being disingenuous and teetering on full scale corruption. It's like someone saying I'll show you the accident history of this car only after you buy it, or I'll show you my resume after you hire me to a 4 year unbreakable contract .... pathetic and all too obvious. Maybe she is counting on a degree of morbid fascination on the part of the American people to nominate her just so we get to see just what secrets she is hiding, but it will be too late for us all by then, so don't go there. Barack Obama is the strongest candidate on both sides in ethics reform and transparency in government without question, and I've already seen his tax return.
Her executive abilities (through osmosis)
She's spent 20 years building a political machine and she ran out of money, had to shake up her "cabinet", has redefined her personality and platform at least 4 times during the campaign so far, and her camp suffers from infighting and near mutiny. And in case you needed something more tangible on how she can be expected to govern, remember that she stiffed the poor guy that cleaned the carpets of her campaign offices in Iowa for over $7,000 dollars (I guess Iowa is in the rear view mirror now and therefor unimportant). Maybe that is not a lot of money to someone that can shell out $5 million on a whim, but to us little guys, it's a fortune. Do you still think your well being is number one in her book? The organization that Barack Obama put together from scratch upon announcing his run has bested her in almost every aspect of this race, and his team still even likes eachother. So even with a 20 year head start, who was better ready to lead on DAY ONE! ... 'nuff said.
I could go on and on but I will stop here. I think this is enough food for thought for one day.
When you vote today remember that you are voting for each and every one of us that still believes in the American dream. Don't let yourself or your country down.
Obama '08 - History in the Making
Obama's Extra Hurdle?By ZOLTAN HAJNAL
THE WALL STREET JOURNALJuly 13, 2007The Barack Obama phenomenon has just about everybody asking: Is America ready for a black president? Overlooked in the conversation, however, is the fact that Americans have already weighed in on black leadership -- and they like it enough to vote for it.More than 40% of the nation's population lives in metropolitan areas that have had a black mayor in the core central city, or lived in states that have had a black governor. Most of the rest have learned from TV and newspapers what black officeholders have or, more importantly, have not done in office. These experiences have calmed fears and given many previously skeptical white voters reason to support black candidates. When the first black challengers ran in the 1960s and the early 1970s to try to take over positions held by whites, they faced widespread fear among white voters and opposition campaigns that were only too happy to play on that anxiety. The slogan in Atlanta, for example, was "Atlanta's too young to die." Meanwhile, the white incumbent in Los Angeles simply asked, "Will your city be safe with this man?"The result was record white mobilization and near-unanimous white opposition to black candidates. In the typical contest when a black candidate challenged to be the first black mayor of a big city, turnout of all voters averaged almost 80%, an unheard-of figure for local elections, and all but 21% of the white vote went to the white candidate.Since those days a lot has changed. Well over 10,000 African-Americans have been elected to various offices around the country. And the fears that many once felt were never realized. In almost every case when a black candidate won, there was little or no white flight, little to no movement of blacks into white neighborhoods and certainly no wholesale redistribution of resources from the white to the black community. The world under black leadership was strikingly similar to the world under white leadership. Many white voters, realizing that black politicians had the power to hurt the white community but didn't, re-evaluated their views of black leadership and the broader black community. All of this has brought remarkable change to the white electorate. The same black challengers who faced near-unanimous white opposition when they first ran almost always won re-election, and generally did so with much more white support than they first received.Today, campaigns cannot and do not play on the same racial fears that they did in the '60s and early '70s. Those scare tactics are simply no longer credible. The nation has seen too many black mayors, Congressmen and other elected officials to believe that black leadership will translate to anything like a black takeover. An even stronger sign that fears have faded away is the fact that whites are no longer mobilized to action whenever a black candidate has a chance to be a historic first. Turnout in city elections in which blacks have won the mayoralty for the first time has dropped every decade to the point where turnout in these elections averages 41%, half the record turnout of the 1960s and close to the national average for mayoral contests.Even more important, instead of fearing black candidates, white Americans have started supporting black candidates. Whereas in the 1960s no blacks were elected in big cities with majority white populations, in the 1990s more than half of all the African-Americans elected in big cities won in places where the electorate was a majority white. What does all of this mean for Barack Obama? The most recent LA Times national poll shows him running equally well among minority and white Democratic voters, but he is unlikely to get most of the white vote. Successful black challengers, at least at the mayoral level, typically win about a third of the white vote. Given that about a third of the white population sees itself as liberal, and almost all of the black candidates running in these mayoral contests are liberal Democrats, that figure seems reasonable. Fortunately for Mr. Obama, winning the white vote is not a prerequisite to winning the Democratic primaries or the presidency. If history repeats itself, the black vote will be united behind Mr. Obama. Black Democratic candidates -- and Mr. Obama is increasingly seen as a black candidate by African-American voters -- seeking to become a historic first at any level have typically won close to 90% of the black vote. That black vote, coupled with some Latino support and the growing willingness of white Americans to support black leadership, could certainly be enough to give him the election. But even if Mr. Obama loses, it won't be because white America is afraid of a black president. The nation has seen black leaders in action and most voters are no longer frightened.Mr. Hajnal, professor of political science at the University of California, San Diego, is the author of "Changing White Attitudes Toward Black Political Leadership" (Cambridge University Press, 2007[Zoltan Hajnal wrote this piece for the Wall Street Journal Friday, July 13, 2007 edition]
