Hon. President Barack Obama Washington, DC Dear Mr. President, I appreciate you sharing your concerns and the strategies to revive the economy, the priority for the democratic Congress.
The Democratic Party has suffered major setbacks in the recent elections and obviously, the trend cannot continue in the 2010 elections - for the work to rebuild our nation has just begun with your Presidency.
Considering the American plight particularly in the job front, the economic measures taken thus far by your administration is reassuring and the challenge lies in the legislation approval, amid lack of cooperation from the Republican members in Congress.
Although, you are earnestly seeking bipartisanship in the legislative process, the opposition is utilizing the cynical response to stall progress for political reasons especially in the election year.

In his State of the Union address Wednesday evening before a joint session of Congress, President Obama reaffirmed his commitment to health insurance reform, saying he would not “walk away” from the millions of Americans who need health care, “And neither should the people in this chamber."
The president said he did not take on the issue of health reform to score a legislative victory or because it was sound politics. Rather, he said, “I took on health care because of the stories I've heard from Americans with pre-existing conditions whose lives depend on getting coverage, patients who've been denied coverage, families — even those with insurance — who are just one illness away from financial ruin.”

Now, as the president called on Congress to do Wednesday, “Let us find a way to come together and finish the job for the American people. Let's get it done.”
Tonight, President Barack Obama will deliver his first official State of the Union address to a joint session of Congress.

Back in September, Jane Sasseen at Business Week made a wise observation about the fight for financial reform, “It may not capture the nation’s attention, as the battle over health care clearly has. But down in the lobbying trenches, an equally hard fought battle is underway. ”
The battle began in June and final passage was expected to take months, with White House officials hoping to get the regulatory reforms passed by winter. Since then, the Administration has been working with the Senate, House, regulatory agencies and banking industry on a series of reforms that are the most far-reaching since the 1930s.
People in the world seem to like extremes, also in America, as there are Yesterday-Republicans as well as Pseudo-Liberals in big enough numbers. All these humans do not see the whole picture, just one facette, the facette they like for their own selfish purposes, so they see what`s in front of them, but do not think as far as to the next corner. The so called truth, however, is often somewhere in the middle, sometimes more to the left and sometimes more to the right. And that`s what President Obama has understood a long time ago and he is acting that way.
Yes, it is possible to help Haiti with food and Afghanistan with more troops at the same time, and there is no contradiction in that. Many so called Liberals do not see, that Al Quaeda has declared war to the Western world, Western freedom, Western Life, Western People, finally to them, and these ignorant untruthful sanctimonious islamistic self-proclaimed "god-warriors", launching terroristic attacks against innocents since decades, have killed and will continue killing to the final day, unless someone stops them. 911 seems to fade in the minds of many people and they start to under-estimate the dangers, that are still existing (remember Detroit...). Obama likes to win this battle against terror, and it would have been irresponsible, if he would not have done, what he did, sending more troops to defeat the Taliban, plus a package of many other civil help measures to improve the situation. Otherwise it will rain 911s in the future...! - So Liberals, wake up, become REAL, stop dreaming !
And you Republicans, do you really believe in all the lies that the press and other mass media are telling you day by day ? - Health Care Reform is just one example, where the truth and facts have been turned around dramatically by lobbyists, insurance companies, Republican party members and other selfish interest groups, who only care about their own power and the allmighty Dollar, while 47 millions of Americans have no coverage at all...! - Some call Obama a communist just because he wants to help the people improve their life, is that really communism ? - Americans have always been very generous in helping others and other countries, as Haiti shows, and there are countless good examples in the past. America is also a very religious nation and so people feel obligated to help. But when it is about the own people at home, many seem to show a strange way of ignorance. America will get only better, when all Americans have a good life, and as long as there is poverty and unemployment, this goal cannot be achieved...! - So Republicans, wake up, too, and stop thinking in financial ways, become REAL and start thinking as part of the whole community ! (no one will blame you a communist...)
I believe, that Barack Obama is a great president, who cares for his country and the world like no one before him. His way of multi-tasking is very clever and fore-sighted and reminds me a bit of those horse-games on a country fair, where a dozen or more little colored plastic horses run to their destiny, enforced by human power. Obama`s horses have all started at the same time, some have progressed further, some are a bit back, but all are on a good way and it is a question of time, when the first horse will arrive at the final destiny. Other presidents before him had a few horses on the run, but very slow running, George W. Bush had no horses at all after one year....! - So people, have more patience, as you cannot solve these immense problems in just one day or a week or a month, no one can, not even God, see and honor the overall progress !
But maybe Obama is too good for this world, and you just do not deserve him ! - I am very disappointed about several opinions from the people in this country, I described above, and even more about their irresponsible reactions like the protest-election in Massachusetts, as they really seem to believe, that things will get better without Obama. You fools are on a sinking ship and trying to kill the captain. When you drown you wished you had been wiser, less Republican and less Liberal, too...!
When you consider, under which conditions Obama started his office, above all the worst financial crisis in 80 years, I cannot praise enough his handling of problems. He started from the beginning like a high speed racing horse. He had his cabinet set even before January 20th, the day of inauguration, and he continued this way and did it all with an incredible sensivity for the problems.
Those who had overdone expectations on January 20th 2009, feel disappointed, but they are wrong. Obama has allready done a great job in his first year, in America and worldwide. Without Obama`s financial help packages this country would be in a much deeper recession with much more unemployment, just to tell one example. Barack Obama has allways been honest about his political destinies, if Afghanistan, Health Care Reform or Environment, and all the people who elected him, all the millions who cheerfully and some with tears of joy watched his inauguration on January 20th 2009, knew these destinies a long time before, and yet many of these seem to simply stop their support. Hey Democrats, what`s up ? - Health Care Reform is in big danger now, and many other projects will die, if you don`t support Obama politics...!.
For me Obama is the best President in decades, the very best, that could have happened to America and the world, too. So people, don`t be blind, look into your heart and mind, and do not believe the manipulation press. There are still many things to do in America, many problems to be solved in the next years... so Americans, help yourself, as you help Obama !

I called my senators, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and the White House to say that without a public option, the current Senate "health care reform" bill will be toxic to the Democrats and the American people. Forget 60 votes! The president has the majority he needs (51 votes) to expand Medicare via budget reconciliation. We need to put the pressure on Congress and the White House to do just that.
Those who dine with lobbyists keep sending us the bills.... bad bills! The current bill is not a victory for health care reform, but for the private insurers who are gouging us all. If the President celebrates this bill (should it pass) as a victory, I will be withdrawing from OFA. Many of us, who worked hard for his campaign, will, sadly, feel we have no choice but to do so. He is wrong about this one and needs to start using the power he has to make the changes we need. Many politicians opposed Medicare in the sixties, but Johnson stood firm. President Obama needs to do the same. At the very least, states should have the right to "opt in" to Medicare for all. Under the proposed bill, states with progressive health care systems they fought for (like Vermont) will be forced into a system worse than the one their taxpayers rejected. People will be forced to buy insurance from the private insurers (leeches) who are bleeding us all! Write and phone your Senators, Speaker Pelosi, Harry Reid, and the White House.
