Congratulations! To the American public, President Barack Obama, Senate Majority leader Harry Reid and the Senators casting their votes to enable the health care debate for Senate approval.
It’s encouraging to witness the commitment from the majority to improve millions of American lives. The action was long overdue and it’s just beginning to take fruition. I have no doubt that upon the historic national health care legislation; the American electorate would reciprocate in the 2010 mid-term elections with the appropriate results.
Rest continue @http://www.padminiarhant.com
Thank you.

Dear Mr. Vice President and Rep. Van Hollen,
Please accept my apologies for the delay in responding to your request. However, the required information sent on priority basis should be available prior to the deadline.
Enclosed please find the contribution and the survey completed with specific targets vital for immediate economic recovery and national progress.
I appreciate your kind remarks and the invitation to participate in the legislative affairs. I pledge my support to defend the policies benefiting the people of the United States of America as well as the global citizens.
Furthermore, I consider it’s really important for the incumbent and the prospective legislators to make a firm commitment to serve the people electing them to office and not become the proxies for the special interests. I reiterate the fact that despite millions of dollars in investments towards any political campaigns, the ultimate power lies with the electorate in a democracy.

It has been widely reported across the news wires that Senator Chris Dodd (D-Conn), Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee has released a financial regulation reform bill. Through tough regulation, it will seek financial stability and consumer financial protection and justice.
We in the working/middleclass are being stripped of what little equity we have accumulated. We are forced to accept sub-standard wages, less employer benefits and in millions of cases...under/un-employment.
You can bet, the republicans and blue dog democrats are already planning on voting NO and introducing countless amendments to weaken or water down the legislation. You can be assured, they are planning endless delays. They will follow the same game plan as they did and are doing with health care. Joined by the wallets, the republicans and blue dog democrats will be relentless with their shady tactics.
We OFA members must become active again and counter their corruptive efforts. We cannot and should not expect President Barack Obama to fight this second front alone. It is time to gather the troops and bring re-enforcements to the already tired progressives on capitol hill. Stand-up and plan a strategy on how to bring aid to our fellow progressives. I still have hope, I know you do to. Stand-up, smile and be proud of what you are doing. You are not alone.
On October 20th over 340,000 Americans called their member of Congress in support of President Obama's plan for health insurance reform. This type of grassroots action is unprecedented. It's a testament to the tremendous amount of support that reform has across the country. As Congress inches closer to voting on reform we must continue to reach out to Senators Snowe and Collins to remind them that we support the president's call for reform. You can contact Sen. Snowe today, toll-free, by dialing 1-800-432-1599. Sen. Collins can be reached at (202) 224-2523. You may also write a personal letter in support of reform. Senator Snowe's mailing address is: 154 Russell Senate Office Building, Washington, DC 20510. Senator Collins' address is: 413 Dirksen Senate Office Building, Washington, DC 20510. You can also follow the link below to contact our members of Congress.http://my.barackobama.com/timetodeliver

Organizing for America is sponsoring a "Health Reform Video Challenge": "Create the best 30 second video you can that makes the case for passing health insurance reform in 2009. This is a complex and often personal issue, and there's way more angles to cover than anyone can squeeze into 30 seconds." The top 20 submissions (The deadline was at midnight, last night) will be voted on by the public and a panel of experts -- including celebrities, political experts, and OFA volunteers -- with the winning ad aired on national television (There is no money at stake in this "contest").
Promoting the president's plan -- an excellent, yet necessarily complex initiative, which unfortunately has left a lot of Americans confused -- in just half a minute was indeed a -- worthy -- challenge. I read further and found this very helpful: "President Obama's plan will accomplish three primary goals: Provide more security and stability for the insured; guarantee more quality, affordable choices for the uninsured; and lower the costs of health care for American families, businesses and government."
So I wrote a script, structured around these three themes: making health insurance "available, dependable, and affordable." I needed, in just 30 seconds, to present each one of those solutions as well as each one of the problems crying out for those solutions.
And what could make more of an impression than presenting the names and faces of those who were victims of our current health system? After all, this debate isn't just about politics or statistics; it's about the very real, life-and-death consequences of the status quo, compelling us to reform.
OFA members, do you feel like we need to FIRE or TERMINATE the employment of some of our own democrat politicians? I am going to keep this post short. Think about it. How are we going to get discipline within the party without coming down on a selected few poor performers? We don’t have but a narrow window to get a bunch of stuff done. We might have to go another forty years before another opportunity like this. I have a life outside of politics. I am here because I feel the calling. I would like nothing better than to let trusted elected employees to handle this stuff. Our politicians are OUR employees. We have a labor issue, gentlemen and ladies. Our employees are disorganized and non-productive. They are not efficient and at times shamefully embarrassing. Please help me, help each other to help President Barack Obama do what needs to be done. During this lifetime!!
The Senate Finance Committee voted today to move the process of health care reform forward. Republican Senator Olympia Snowe of Maine was among those to vote in favor of legislation. President Obama thanked the senator for “both the political courage and the seriousness of purpose that she's demonstrated throughout this process," while reminding us that now "is not the time to offer ourselves congratulations. Now is the time to dig in and work even harder to get this done."
Today is a significant victory in our ultimate quest to see real health insurance reform legislation on the president's desk in 2009, but it is far from the end of this process. Five committees have now passed a portion of reform, which makes our next step perhaps the most important. We thank our volunteers for helping us reach this important milestone, and we call on them to heed the president's call to service.
Together, we as a nation will get this done and bring quality and affordable coverage to millions of Americans who go without insurance and millions who struggle to obtain the coverage they have.
YES WE CAN!
Today, our President was awarded the Nobel Prize for Peace. And the pundits are critical because they claim he has not done anything as of yet to deserve the award! Conservatives (the immovable object) believe this will tie his hands to make something happen (as if that would be a tragedy after eight years of no international progress). Well my perspective is quite different. The award was earned by Mr. Obama for his efforts to change the rhetoric and drive a new alliance on the international stage. Diplomacy over the saber rattle. Collaboration over the arrogance of might.
The Iranian threats of nuclear strike capabilities are the backdrop to this unexpected and welcome announcement. Does anyone really believe that we can use force to reverse Iran's tragic militaristic program? The economy of Iran is in shambles. The Iranian people took to the streets to protest the recent presidential election and re-election of the repressive regime in power. The imams are even at odds with Ahmajinedad. World collaboration and economic sanctions are the best hope to bring about regime change in Iran. We are not in position to continue to fight terrorism around the world on our own.
Our economy is on its knees and the prohibitive cost of another war is beyond comprehension. The notion that we can be the policeman of the world is an old and tired policy. New technological threats abound. Religious fanaticism, even here in America, threaten national and world peace. A new approach is not only welcome, it is critical to both global peace and prosperity.
The defense of Israel is an important element of our foreign policy. (I say this as a Christian with a practical view of our alliance with Israel). So let's break the economic back of Iran, as Reagan broke the economy of the USSR almost 30 years ago. Remove the threat permanently. A new war will just spawn more hatred for both the U.S. and Israel. In the process of fighting, what's to stop the launch of a nuclear missle at Israel by Iran?
I firmly believe that the quest for peace has two elements to it. First, world collaboration against the forces of hatred and fanatical religiosity. Give them no harbor and attack their financial resources where possible. Second, a Manhattan Project effort for energy independence (funded by the need to invest in our staggering economy). Such energy independence would disintermediate the OPEC cartel's banks. The funding for terrorism would dry up very quickly. And, hey, maybe the air would be somewhat cleaner. Success on the energy front would turn America into the undisputed economic powerhouse of the world. That is where the battle must be fought and won.
And back to the President's award, we need the rest of the rational world to join in the program for sanity and the rule of law across the globe. Tolerance is a basic human right. It cannot be achieved with guns unless we intend to bankrupt our own society. The same folks who believe we cannot afford universal health care want to expend billions on bombs and belligerence. I voted for change (the irresistable force) and this is part of the change for which I was hoping. Congratulations Mr. President. Keep the faith and stay the course! Then perhaps one day we can truly say "mission accomplished".
The Buck McKeon Townhall Healthcare Meeting Saturday made footage on Fox News. You can snippets at: http://www.scvyoungdems.org click on “Events", then open the Buck McKeon picture!
There were easy 1,500 attendees at this event! People stood against the walls, in the hall way and moving back and forth through the gym. Republicans claimed 2,000. It was possible, the gym sat 1,000 in the bleachers on each side and 1000 chairs. A serious fire Marshall and sheriffs were present to assure public safety. McKeon said 800 people RSVP'd. We believe 30% of the crowd was us and we had 11 days to mobilize. The event brought out Dems I hadn't seen since he Obama election! Democrats and moderate Republicans leaders still say they'd rather wait and see . . . not believing as they once did, that President Obama can really pull healthcare reform off. Everyone’s watching Abu Grab and Guantanamo militarial terrorism, Iraq and Afghanistan wars and getting the receivers of the first financial bailout. That damn Bush!
The Republican rhetoric is confusing the hell out of folks. Even Wendell Potter (former VP of Communications for Cigna) told me personally, “Minerva, if they don't have the "public option", then the insurance industry will have won this battle, you might as well pack it in lady!” I’m however still fired up and ready to go . . . my friend from Seoul says, “Clutching on invisible hope!”
Bottomline, the Democrats are going to have to agree to agree and explain what the hell is in the damn bill! We can't defend what isn’t understood. I read the first 500 pages and wanted to pull my hair out! Healthcare is a human people problem. Maybe next time they’ll plan better for strollers, the handicapped, seniors and other physically challenged individuals and not expect them to walk huge flight of stairs at the next townhall meeting.
Will someone tell me more about the "illegal alien, abortion and tort amendment" that Buck mentioned? McKeon like the Democrats are crediting the Blue Dogs for holding up the 2013 Bill. Yesterday I hear they voted against “public option”. I know I have my advocacy job cut out for the rest of the fall . . . I still pray that the healthcare bill isn't watered down to nothing. Based on the outbursts, exchanges, heated comments and disgust portrayed . . . Healthcare reform is Damn Important. What’s more important than your health? A roof over your head, food in your tummy, a job and someone to love?
President Obama will advocate for the Olympics in Chicago, and that is good as long as he make some effort to insure that any financial assistance that the federal government offers, is counter balanced with some benefit to the people Daley is disadvantaging in the process.
The proposed site whichDaley hopes to transform into a world class location, is in the footprint of a concrete jungle gym in which he sowed the seeds of discouragement in the neighborhood children by tolerating poor quality education, lack of opportunity and maintaining social isolation in exchange for his fiefdom. He recently dispersed this dysfunction like a plague throughout the greater south side of Chicago where the fruits of his labor results in murders of school children. It is ironic to me that Daley wants the Olympics, the epitome of athletic achievement yet for 20 years has been party to starving the south side of Chicago of recreational facilities where children could develop their athletic skill, maintain health, learn discipline, be safe, have fun, and most of all be children.

On Thursday, September 3, Organizing for America, the Democratic National Committee group calling upon the 13 million Americans who supported Barack Obama for president, and Health Care for America NOW!, the national grassroots advocacy group, organized "Congressional Send-Off Rallies" nationwide, including in historic "Cornfield Park," in downtown Los Angeles, where reporting for OpEdNews, I videotaped the event. I have edited and posted video clips at YouTube (Click on the link above or in the bullet points below to view the clips).
The moment has arrived for the nation to acknowledge the final departure of their tireless and long serving representative, Senator Ted Kennedy, the youngest son of America’s beloved family.
Senator Kennedy, the brave survivor of many family tragedies was a true warrior in various aspects. The Senator zealously battled for the large segments of the society on significant issues and health care was the top priority among them. Senator Kennedy delivered the health care speech with sincere emotion and great concern for the neglected groups in our society.

Here we go again! To quote the former Republican President Ronald Reagan revered by the political faction on the right, the obstructionists rise against health care reform under the guise of ‘fiscal governance’ with the stagecraft artists as citizens screaming and ranting over the health care policy for all.
Should anyone be surprised about the sources responsible for the spectacle at the town hall meetings?
When the propagandists can’t think for themselves, they often lavishly steal ideas from others and misuse the Gandhian principle of non-violence and peaceful protest discussed earlier for their own diabolical means, despite the action being detrimental to national progress.
Surely, Gandhi will be turning in his grave on the abuse of his noble wisdom…at the narcissistic profiteers in the health care industry using the selective media muscle power drive insanity to no point of return.
Out of sight, out of mind and the opposition goes ballistic to stampede the health care legislation.
The noise and raucous in the public arena instigated by the agents of warfare against welfare of the people in a democracy are leaving no stones unturned for their vile personal agenda i.e. dominate and deploy the destructive forces in health care matter directly related to economic and employment recovery.

People vs. Special Interests and GOP
The opponents to health care reform – the conglomerate with legislators as spokespersons and the conservative media specifically a network dedicated to the hampering of national progress in every respect deserve scrutiny and appropriate response.
It’s no surprise to witness the ‘grandstanding’ against the President by the opposition retaliating to the brutal defeat in the ’06, ’08 and inevitably the 2010 elections.
Last week, Republican Senator Jim DeMint made it pretty clear why the opponents of health care reform are fighting so hard.
As he told a special interest attack group...

The U.S. Senate is reviewing the components of the much-required health care reform bill. Obviously, the free market profiteers represented by the Insurance industry, hospitals, healthcare providers, Pharmaceutical companies and the entire enterprise strongly lobbying against the public option involving federal health care. Simultaneously, a tentative agreement by the hospitals and health care providers to reduce Medicare and Medicaid costs by $155 billion over a decade has been subject to immense speculation.
The opposition minority along with the cynics and the skeptics are vigorously contesting the legislation on the pretext – ‘tax’ and ‘fiscal responsibility’, an all time favorite issue...
