Whatever happened to that transparency promise that Obama made while on his campaign trail? Is this promise just going to be one of the 514 other promises that he made and seems to have slipped his mind? He promised to place each bill that was coming up for a vote to place on a website for five days so that the people would have time to read it and get in touch with their congressmen and tell them how they wanted them to vote. This was going to be the most transparent government in history. What happened to this promise and what else do we not expect to get?

It was never made clear that we were going to be stock holders in the car industry, insurance industry or the banking industry either. This is why Obama will not place these bills online for us to see. The people would not have allowed such tom foolery for one this goes entirely against the Constitution. Everything that this man has done since his first day in office is to shread the Constitution of the United States of America.

The cap and trade bill that the congress passed and will go to the senate in August, does anyone remember seeing it posted anywhere for the American public to reveue? No, you didn't because this in reality is the largest tax increase in the history of this country. And guess what? Our representatives did not read this bill either!

DOesn't anyone think a church spending 40 million to Ban rights is WRONG

Why isn't anyone questioning the spending of 40 million dollars by the MORMON church to ban gay marriage. The IRS has established laws against this and here they are: http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-drop/rr-07-41.pdf Second: Why is a church spending 40 million dollars to ban gay marriage when the money could have been used to feed the poor, help the homeless, pay mortgages for members losing there homes, pay or help in someones medical bills and the countless other ways to help people. Why is not a member of this congregation even questioning the use of 40 million dollars in this manner. As a Catholic, if my church spent 40 million dollars to ban gay marriage they would never see a dime from me FOREVER yet these people who give their church money are happy with the way it is being spent. IS this what following the bible is all about and YOU PEOPLE THINK it is ok for a church to be using its donations for this purpose? This is proof that these people are stupid ignorant brainwashed people who cannot think for themselves and this church's motives are political and NOT charitable and thus should lose their non-profit status immediately. LETS hit where it hurts in the pocketbook since the morons who belong to this church seem to be incapable of thinking rationally for themselves. WHERE ARE THE LAWYERS AND PROSECUTORS on this..THEY BROKE THE LAW

We Are The Ones-It's About You (Obama Speech Remix)

Author's Note: I wrote the following post a few day ago. Since then, the video We Are The Ones-Obama Speech Remix, created by myself and my partner has been posted.
Blog 9/6/08: I am in the midst of the exhilarating feeling of experiencing a dream of possibility on the cusp of being launched into the world. Hopefully this will inspire people everywhere to begin to believe that we as individuals and collectively can have an impact on healing our world. Each and every one of us has something to offer. In my own experience, there have been many times when I’ve neglected to follow through on what seemed at the time to be a brilliant idea. Perhaps it wasn’t received well, or it seemed too much of a struggle to push it forward. A week ago, I embraced the following possibility that was set before me. Here are the exact words from a middle of the night journal writing which describes the conception of the idea for the use of my song, “We Are The Ones”, and merging it with the energy of hope and promise I had heard in Barrack Obama’s speech two days before.

From Journal August 30th, 2008

Internal voices woke me up. They showed me (link to music) “We Are The Ones”, with Obama’s speech interwoven as a viral video. There were pictures from the Democratic Convention especially emphasizing the “We”. I saw specific images for different parts of the song. “We are the hands” showed people waving the signs of change. For “We are the eyes” people were crying for hope and “We are the fire” depicted the fireworks coming out of the stadium. I heard the chorus “We Are The Ones” set to visuals of the huge stadium and the cheering. And the most moving part of Obama’s speech was set over the guitar solo. YES!!

The next morning I took sound bites from the speech and an audio version of the song and began to imagine how they would fit together. I began to search the web for compelling photos from the Democratic Convention. My partner Keith Ranney and I then went into his media studio where the video began to weave Obama’s inspirational and profound message with a song that describes how it really is up to us to create the world we want to live in. Barack Obama repeats, “It’s about you!”. My song resounds with, “We Are The Ones”. For the past several days Keith has been researching the tech side of how to get this information to the most people effectively, while I have continued my music gigs and employment as a substitute teacher.

We plan to launch the video by September 8th.

Response to speech

I just have to say that, as strong as my feelings were toward Barack Obama and his campaign of change, watching him speak at the DNC the other day deepened my respect and belief in him. I've never heard anyone speak with that much feeling, that much conviction about politics. If you weren't moved by his words, then I don't think you have much of a soul. It was like a symphony with range of emotion like I've never seen before.

I think he has a great VP pick in Joe Biden and together with Michelle and Jill they will lead this country into the future. Although nothing in life is certain, I know this: If McCain is elected president we will CERTAINLY not fare well, friends. He's desperate, evident by his choice of running mates. Not that the Alaska Governor isn't cut out for the job...it's just that he's desperate to snatch up the Clinton supporters with a woman VP pick. I think smart women will see through this facade and realize that Barack Obama truly cares about women and all Americans. He has two daughters of his own and wants to see them grow up with all the benefits and rights that we all deserve.

Well, that's all I need to say for now.

Obama - Biden For CHANGE specifically...do we know?

Barack Obama was short on specifics as to how he would affect CHANGE in his DNC speech, but I don't see that as a BAD THING. Why get into the specifics when you don't have the "full deck of cards in hand" you'll be dealing with in Washington. To delineate "the how" NOW could only stand as ANOTHER thing to slam Barack on when he may have to CHANGE his approach in light of new information, factors, and circumstances for which he will have NO PRIOR knowledge about UNTIL he is faced with "classified" information that only those in the Presidental circle are privy to.

For now... I'm impressed with Senator Barack Obama because he's in my age range (I'm 40 he is 44) with ALL daughters as I have and I just trust that when he says he plans to make America a place for his daughters (however he PLANS to do it SPECIFICALLY) he will. He has support from those who have started to think in a different way as well. Those looking for real solutions for the biggest problems we have ever had in the world. My prayer for Barack is that he will ALWAYS have SOUND COUNSEL around him to make and carry out the tough decisions to come. Including a strong spiritual sense to tap into moment by moment that WILL NOT fail him in the end. I fully trust that Michelle has his back and that the smiles and love of his own daughters WILL keep him moving forward.

Thank you to the citizens of Berlin and to the people of Germany. Let me thank Chancellor Merkel and Foreign Minister Steinmeier for welcoming me earlier today. Thank you Mayor Wowereit, the Berlin Senate, the police, and most of all thank you for this welcome.

I come to Berlin as so many of my countrymen have come before. Tonight, I speak to you not as a candidate for President, but as a citizen -- a proud citizen of the United States, and a fellow citizen of the world.

I know that I don't look like the Americans who've previously spoken in this great city. The journey that led me here is improbable. My mother was born in the heartland of America, but my father grew up herding goats in Kenya. His father -- my grandfather -- was a cook, a domestic servant to the British.

At the height of the Cold War, my father decided, like so many others in the forgotten corners of the world, that his yearning -- his dream -- required the freedom and opportunity promised by the West. And so he wrote letter after letter to universities all across America until somebody, somewhere answered his prayer for a better life.

That is why I'm here. And you are here because you too know that yearning. This city, of all cities, knows the dream of freedom. And you know that the only reason we stand here tonight is because men and women from both of our nations came together to work, and struggle, and sacrifice for that better life.

Ours is a partnership that truly began sixty years ago this summer, on the day when the first American plane touched down at Templehof.

On that day, much of this continent still lay in ruin.Ê The rubble of this city had yet to be built into a wall. The Soviet shadow had swept across Eastern Europe, while in the West, America, Britain, and France took stock of their losses, and pondered how the world might be remade.

This is where the two sides met.Ê And on the twenty-fourth of June, 1948, the Communists chose to blockade the western part of the city. They cut off food and supplies to more than two million Germans in an effort to extinguish the last flame of freedom in Berlin.

The size of our forces was no match for the much larger Soviet Army. And yet retreat would have allowed Communism to march across Europe. Where the last war had ended, another World War could have easily begun. All that stood in the way was Berlin.

Ê And that's when the airlift began -- when the largest and most unlikely rescue in history brought food and hope to the people of this city.

The odds were stacked against success. In the winter, a heavy fog filled the sky above, and many planes were forced to turn back without dropping off the needed supplies. The streets where we stand were filled with hungry families who had no comfort from the cold.Ê

But in the darkest hours, the people of Berlin kept the flame of hope burning. The people of Berlin refused to give up. And on one fall day, hundreds of thousands of Berliners came here, to the Tiergarten, and heard the city's mayor implore the world not to give up on freedom. "There is only one possibility," he said. "For us to stand together united until this battle is wonÉThe people of Berlin have spoken. We have done our duty, and we will keep on doing our duty. People of the world: now do your dutyÉPeople of the world, look at Berlin!"

People of the world -- look at Berlin!

Look at Berlin, where Germans and Americans learned to work together and trust each other less than three years after facing each other on the field of battle.

Look at Berlin, where the determination of a people met the generosity of the Marshall Plan and created a German miracle; where a victory over tyranny gave rise to NATO, the greatest alliance ever formed to defend our common security.Ê

Look at Berlin, where the bullet holes in the buildings and the somber stones and pillars near the Brandenburg Gate insist that we never forget our common humanity.Ê

People of the world -- look at Berlin, where a wall came down, a continent came together, and history proved that there is no challenge too great for a world that stands as one.ÊÊ

Sixty years after the airlift, we are called upon again. History has led us to a new crossroad, with new promise and new peril. When you, the German people, tore down that wall -- a wall that divided East and West; freedom and tyranny; fear and hope -- walls came tumbling down around the world. From Kiev to Cape Town, prison camps were closed, and the doors of democracy were opened. Markets opened too, and the spread of information and technology reduced barriers to opportunity and prosperity. While the 20th century taught us that we share a common destiny, the 21st has revealed a world more intertwined than at any time in human history.

The fall of the Berlin Wall brought new hope. But that very closeness has given rise to new dangers -- dangers that cannot be contained within the borders of a country or by the distance of an ocean.ÊÊ

The terrorists of September 11th plotted in Hamburg and trained in Kandahar and Karachi before killing thousands from all over the globe on American soil.Ê

As we speak, cars in Boston and factories in Beijing are melting the ice caps in the Arctic, shrinking coastlines in the Atlantic, and bringing drought to farms from Kansas to Kenya.

Poorly secured nuclear material in the former Soviet Union, or secrets from a scientist in Pakistan could help build a bomb that detonates in Paris. The poppies in Afghanistan become the heroin in Berlin. The poverty and violence in Somalia breeds the terror of tomorrow. The genocide in Darfur shames the conscience of us all.

In this new world, such dangerous currents have swept along faster than our efforts to contain them. That is why we cannot afford to be divided. No one nation, no matter how large or powerful, can defeat such challenges alone. None of us can deny these threats, or escape responsibility in meeting them. Yet, in the absence of Soviet tanks and a terrible wall, it has become easy to forget this truth. And if we're honest with each other, we know that sometimes, on both sides of the Atlantic, we have drifted apart, and forgotten our shared destiny.

In Europe, the view that America is part of what has gone wrong in our world, rather than a force to help make it right, has become all too common. In America, there are voices that deride and deny the importance of Europe's role in our security and our future. Both views miss the truth -- that Europeans today are bearing new burdens and taking more responsibility in critical parts of the world; and that just as American bases built in the last century still help to defend the security of this continent, so does our country still sacrifice greatly for freedom around the globe.

Yes, there have been differences between America and Europe. No doubt, there will be differences in the future. But the burdens of global citizenship continue to bind us together. A change of leadership in Washington will not lift this burden. In this new century, Americans and Europeans alike will be required to do more -- not less. Partnership and cooperation among nations is not a choice; it is the one way, the only way, to protect our common security and advance our common humanity.Ê

That is why the greatest danger of all is to allow new walls to divide us from one another. The walls between old allies on either side of the Atlantic cannot stand. The walls between the countries with the most and those with the least cannot stand. The walls between races and tribes; natives and immigrants; Christian and Muslim and Jew cannot stand. These now are the walls we must tear down.Ê

We know they have fallen before. After centuries of strife, the people of Europe have formed a Union of promise and prosperity. Here, at the base of a column built to mark victory in war, we meet in the center of a Europe at peace. Not only have walls come down in Berlin, but they have come down in Belfast, where Protestant and Catholic found a way to live together; in the Balkans, where our Atlantic alliance ended wars and brought savage war criminals to justice; and in South Africa, where the struggle of a courageous people defeated apartheid. Ê So history reminds us that walls can be torn down. But the task is never easy. True partnership and true progress requires constant work and sustained sacrifice. They require sharing the burdens of development and diplomacy; of progress and peace. They require allies who will listen to each other, learn from each other and, most of all, trust each other.Ê

That is why America cannot turn inward. That is why Europe cannot turn inward. America has no better partner than Europe. Now is the time to build new bridges across the globe as strong as the one that bound us across the Atlantic. Now is the time to join together, through constant cooperation, strong institutions, shared sacrifice, and a global commitment to progress, to meet the challenges of the 21st century. It was this spirit that led airlift planes to appear in the sky above our heads, and people to assemble where we stand today. And this is the moment when our nations -- and all nations -- must summon that spirit anew.

This is the moment when we must defeat terror and dry up the well of extremism that supports it. This threat is real and we cannot shrink from our responsibility to combat it. If we could create NATO to face down the Soviet Union, we can join in a new and global partnership to dismantle the networks that have struck in Madrid and Amman; in London and Bali; in Washington and New York. If we could win a battle of ideas against the communists, we can stand with the vast majority of Muslims who reject the extremism that leads to hate instead of hope.

This is the moment when we must renew our resolve to rout the terrorists who threaten our security in Afghanistan, and the traffickers who sell drugs on your streets. No one welcomes war. I recognize the enormous difficulties in Afghanistan. But my country and yours have a stake in seeing that NATO's first mission beyond Europe's borders is a success. For the people of Afghanistan, and for our shared security, the work must be done. America cannot do this alone. The Afghan people need our troops and your troops; our support and your support to defeat the Taliban and al Qaeda, to develop their economy, and to help them rebuild their nation. We have too much at stake to turn back now.

This is the moment when we must renew the goal of a world without nuclear weapons. The two superpowers that faced each other across the wall of this city came too close too often to destroying all we have built and all that we love. With that wall gone, we need not stand idly by and watch the further spread of the deadly atom. It is time to secure all loose nuclear materials; to stop the spread of nuclear weapons; and to reduce the arsenals from another era. This is the moment to begin the work of seeking the peace of a world without nuclear weapons.

This is the moment when every nation in Europe must have the chance to choose its own tomorrow free from the shadows of yesterday. In this century, we need a strong European Union that deepens the security and prosperity of this continent, while extending a hand abroad. In this century -- in this city of all cities -- we must reject the Cold War mind-set of the past, and resolve to work with Russia when we can, to stand up for our values when we must, and to seek a partnership that extends across this entire continent.

This is the moment when we must build on the wealth that open markets have created, and share its benefits more equitably. Trade has been a cornerstone of our growth and global development. But we will not be able to sustain this growth if it favors the few, and not the many. Together, we must forge trade that truly rewards the work that creates wealth, with meaningful protections for our people and our planet. This is the moment for trade that is free and fair for all.

This is the moment we must help answer the call for a new dawn in the Middle East. My country must stand with yours and with Europe in sending a direct message to Iran that it must abandon its nuclear ambitions. We must support the Lebanese who have marched and bled for democracy, and the Israelis and Palestinians who seek a secure and lasting peace. And despite past differences, this is the moment when the world should support the millions of Iraqis who seek to rebuild their lives, even as we pass responsibility to the Iraqi government and finally bring this war to a close.

This is the moment when we must come together to save this planet. Let us resolve that we will not leave our children a world where the oceans rise and famine spreads and terrible storms devastate our lands. Let us resolve that all nations -- including my own -- will act with the same seriousness of purpose as has your nation, and reduce the carbon we send into our atmosphere. This is the moment to give our children back their future. This is the moment to stand as one.

And this is the moment when we must give hope to those left behind in a globalized world. We must remember that the Cold War born in this city was not a battle for land or treasure. Sixty years ago, the planes that flew over Berlin did not drop bombs; instead they delivered food, and coal, and candy to grateful children. And in that show of solidarity, those pilots won more than a military victory. They won hearts and minds; love and loyalty and trust -- not just from the people in this city, but from all those who heard the story of what they did here.

Now the world will watch and remember what we do here -- what we do with this moment. Will we extend our hand to the people in the forgotten corners of this world who yearn for lives marked by dignity and opportunity; by security and justice? Will we lift the child in Bangladesh from poverty, shelter the refugee in Chad, and banish the scourge of AIDS in our time?

Will we stand for the human rights of the dissident in Burma, the blogger in Iran, or the voter in Zimbabwe? Will we give meaning to the words "never again" in Darfur?Ê

Will we acknowledge that there is no more powerful example than the one each of our nations projects to the world? Will we reject torture and stand for the rule of law? Will we welcome immigrants from different lands, and shun discrimination against those who don't look like us or worship like we do, and keep the promise of equality and opportunity for all of our people?

People of Berlin -- people of the world -- this is our moment. This is our time.Ê

I know my country has not perfected itself. At times, we've struggled to keep the promise of liberty and equality for all of our people. We've made our share of mistakes, and there are times when our actions around the world have not lived up to our best intentions.

But I also know how much I love America. I know that for more than two centuries, we have strived -- at great cost and great sacrifice -- to form a more perfect union; to seek, with other nations, a more hopeful world. Our allegiance has never been to any particular tribe or kingdom -- indeed, every language is spoken in our country; every culture has left its imprint on ours; every point of view is expressed in our public squares. What has always united us -- what has always driven our people; what drew my father to America's shores -- is a set of ideals that speak to aspirations shared by all people: that we can live free from fear and free from want; that we can speak our minds and assemble with whomever we choose and worship as we please.

Those are the aspirations that joined the fates of all nations in this city. Those aspirations are bigger than anything that drives us apart. It is because of those aspirations that the airlift began. It is because of those aspirations that all free people -- everywhere -- became citizens of Berlin. It is in pursuit of those aspirations that a new generation -- our generation -- must make our mark on history.

People of Berlin -- and people of the world -- the scale of our challenge is great. The road ahead will be long. But I come before you to say that we are heirs to a struggle for freedom. We are a people of improbable hope. Let us build on our common history, and seize our common destiny, and once again engage in that noble struggle to bring justice and peace to our world.

Obama Takes Off The Gloves

Wow! Hillary sure has done it this time. My favorite mild mannered sweet nicer than he should be senator and next president of the US has gone on the offensive. Or at least he is offended. I just watched a video where he struck back at Hillary's comments about Barack being out of touch and elitist. I would not want Obama mad at me! Hillary really should be ashamed of herself! She will I believe regret those comments. She isn't running like a democrat now, she's running scared and grasping at whatever straws she can to shore up votes in PA. She's been slipping in the polls, and so when Obama makes a slight error in word choice she's out to flame him. But Barack Obama is not backing down this time. He's right and he's standing up to Hillary and McCain and he's going to own this issue! If you want to see Obama in a fiesty mood... The fighter Obama, the Obama that takes off the gloves... THE SPEECH - THE CLIMATE - THE WARNING

The last words, "Thank you," had barely left the mouth of the candidate on TV and I heard a boisterous commotion coming from just outside of my middle class, suburban Fort Lauderdale home. I started to become apprehensive and instinctively reached for "protection" (top drawer on the right) while trying to silence the "Alpo" security system. As I looked beyond the blinds, what started as a cacophony of voices, yelling, screaming; two women hugging and weeping in a driveway…, dropped in noisiness and rose in both theme and essence. As I stepped out, curiously, a neighbor yelled out "Did you hear the speech?" I asked myself, is this hoopla of laughter and weeping over Barack Obama's speech? Nah uuh…" The two women embracing had, for a long time, been neighbors but, more so, friends. The "Wright controversy" had really tried their friendship because one was an Obamite; the other, a Hillerean (both husbands Republicans). We are "close" on our block and we can find any excuse to kick up our heels and "get silly;" so…the beer, the music and the collapsibles came out as people spoke to people and to cell phones at the same time; Bill, Mike and Pedro blocked off the street with their trucks (Pedro's a State Trooper so…YES WE CAN (lol) and doors were opened and an impromptu block party was underway. I would have wished for "converts" but…oh well. The new subject of contentious BUZZ: a black Bobby Kennedy or a "jacksonized" Luther King? THIS IS NUTS, I thought! Conspicuously missing was the cloud of suspicion that had recently come to pollute the interactive trust of our block community and that had lingered until just before noon. All of a sudden I realized just how affected America has actually been over the Wright controversy. As I excused myself because I was compelled to satisfy the need to pen this, I was overcome by an almost melancholy sense of accomplishment. I knew then…in my heart…as did the people outside making the noise…that if America did NOT elect Barack…it was because it was not yet ready for the wonder that it would first need to grow into.

Today, on this the 18th day of March, 2008, we have been served with what may be written into history as the 21st Century's most defining moment in the chronicle of a people's transition from THE SINS OF OUR FATHERS to THE DESTINY OF OUR CHILDREN; from hate and fear to compassion and understanding; from resentment to thoughtfulness; from denial to courageous realization; from sempiternal racial division to a celebration and exaltation of the magnificent multi-colored tapestry stitched by the very hand of GOD into the splendid work of wonder that is HUMANITY.

Today, those who have depended on the demons of fear, ignorance and distrust to act as their captive audience made ripe for the continuance of a SOCIAL DIVISION that has become the drug of choice for those sociopaths obsessed with its perpetuation, have been dealt a mortal blow. On this day, the people of America have been given an improbable, albeit remarkable tool with which to breach the SOCIAL DIVIDE that has become the sole and hungry client base of the career American BIGOT; WISDOM.

Make no mistake, however. The celebrated triumph of the human spirit that most of us are, at this very moment, reveling in, must and will be met with violent repudiation by those who stand in opposition of reconciliation. If the words of Barack Obama are allowed to speak to the very heart of a country hungry for unity and who, in moving forward, turns its back on the icon which is INTER-RACIAL FEAR, the leaders and lieutenants of institutional, racial and social prejudice will be denied the listeners for their sole subject of expertise; the GRAIL that they have practiced to validate, justify and champion; THE VERY CHALICE of HATE. Despite the disdain that I heard in the televised voice of Mr. Rush Limbaugh, it will be written that, in the middle of a day, in the middle of March on the year of the most contested presidential election in the history of America, even those held in humanistic stagnancy, not through malice, but by ignorance, have been literally pushed upward into a conscious, enlightened awareness that guarantees that, from this day, the harvest of recruits available to the minions of the morally indigent; those drawn to the ranks of racist America, will be reduced to the chronically cynical, the galactically disoriented, to those in terminal denial and to those choosing to live, from here forward, for the words "The HATE will Rise Again."

The landmark discourse, made minutes ago by Senator Barack Obama, has been quickly touted as the most significant address of race issues in America since King's now legendary 1963 "I have a dream…"speech. It provides those who did not merely listen, but who objectively assimilated its content, with a rational narrative of answers to the questions that, with obvious and transparent intent, have been repetitiously brought forth, regarding his 20 year relationship with the Reverend Jeremiah Wright and his Trinity United Church of Christ. A metal beyond his years was evident as this young legislator from Chicago showed the resolve to denounce Wright's radical rhetoric while retaining the integrity that it took to declare inviolate the spiritual kinship that has existed with this, his former minister, who, quite frankly, would have been given up as burnt offerings by any of the other contenders facing the same "trial by fire." The most poignant reality is that it is a disconnection with the enigma that is HONOR that explains any inability to regard this courageous action as anything but HEROIC. The nobility of the gesture augured that, when pushed to the wall, Barack Obama, as my President, will not barter ME for political safety. Of equal importance, Barack spoke to the post-trauma of the black experience in America and reminded a beleaguered white working class that they too suffered from a post-traumatic syndrome rooted in their own history as kindred targets of unfairness and disregard.

To "accuse, denounce, renounce, decry, rebuff, rebuke, reject, beat with a bat, dismember and summarily execute" are the standards of acceptable disassociation that, throughout this campaign, have been reserved SOLELY for the candidacy of one Barack Hussein Obama. Despite the tacitly ridiculous, I feel that the answers to any concerned questions have been tendered beyond any reasonable expectation. It would need to be left to the polls to determine if the rest of America concurs. Therefore, if the people of America call for the tired issue to be laid to rest, any Neoconservative measure intended to perpetuate that which has now been answered to the point of the redundant, can only be interpreted as an act of HARASSMENT and should be met by a vote of solidarity returned to sender in the words of those who spoke them to the centuries of distorted inhumanity that shaped Reverend Wright's painfully distorted views; "GET OVER IT!" It will be at the time, when those words are forced from our lips, that the floodgates will be thrown open on what has become known as "THE LAUNDRY LIST" of Obama's opposition. This WILL NOT happen because Barack will initiate or even desire it. It will be driven by citizens, worn by the "trailer park politics" that are the trademark of "The King of the Double-Wides", Rush Limbaugh, and his "pimp your vote 'n pull my finger" election strategies and who, like me, WILL FORCE THE ISSUE in our courts. Moving towards the election of a President, America must observe the politically postured alignment of FOX Television and its Neoconservative pundits, anchors and commentators. History has shown that their obsession with the forced-feeding of America can be predictably expected to drag this campaign episode to a conclusion of political martyrdom. As I listened to an MSNBC viewer e-mail being read on the air and insisting that the media now let go this matter in favor of legitimate ECONOMIC issues of paramount concern, I was reminded of the Clinton - Lewinski scandal of the late 1990s. Neocons of the Republican party, and their media vocals, blatantly disregarded the populous and dragged an American President through a highly protested impeachment proceeding that ultimately fell short of the 2/3 Senate majority needed to convict and remove him from office. In doing so, our "Magoo-like" conservative visionaries failed to see that, the only thing that they had succeeded in dragging across a snickering world stage; ragged, bloodied, ridiculed and clad in a muddied clown suite, was not Bill Clinton...it was AMERICA ITSELF. Those of us who can still recall that episode, as well as those of sufficient age to understand the function and mechanics of GOVERNMENT BY THE PEOPLE will inevitably incur a rendezvous with OUTRAGE in confronting the following. At the time that this happened, the polls taken of the nations electorate showed that an average of 70% of Americans was against pursuing the allegations and impeachment. (N Y Times December 21, 1998). Neo-Republicans disregarded an overwhelming national majority...and simply...DID IT ANYWAY. I, for one, am on record as having shown my repudiation and disdain for neo-conservatism, and the EXTREMISTS that it breeds, by officially renouncing of my 20 year affiliation with the GOP. From that day forward, some ten or so years ago, I have been a proud registered DEMOCRAT. If this happens again, however, or if Superdelegates self-appoint themselves as the demi-gods that can replace a populous in the determination of an electoral outcome, we MUST then be attentive to the promise in the air that heralds the charter of The Constitutionalist National Committee aka THE CONSTITUTIONALIST PARTY. Most agree that it is an idea whose time has come. If we are to teach our children to believe in Democracy, then it is DEMOCRACY itself that we are bound to provide for them.

As for Shawn Hannity, we can be assured of a unilaterally myopic assessment of today's event that, while panting with wet tongue slavering in the wind, will inspire him to eek out an "Atta boy" from his trailer-bound master, Rush Limbaugh, for having rolled over, played dead and for "fetching" a ball made slimy with the trivialization of the words of A GIANT. I await his show and you can expect that I will confront Limbaugh's political mongrel, Shawn Hannity, with the same stick that I did on March 10, 2008 and that, amongst numerous others, inspired American Initiative co-chair, Nancy Millinger, to follow with her now coined, "two word," grass-roots e-mail that simply said "TAKE THAT!"

The Wright Controversy and Barack's Speech: Moving Beyond

This was inspired by a comment made by my friend Steve on an earlier blog post of mine on the Wright controversy, titled "The Next Chapter?' I felt that our combined thoughts merited a separate blog post and I wanted to start out by giving him the credit for the inspiration for these words:

Barack's speech does indeed give America a chance for a new chapter. Some will take up the mantle of freedom and equality for all, some will still engage with their feelings of hate and prejudice, and Rev. Wright's unfortunate (but still understandable, given the experiences of his lifetime) sermons will be, for the latter, just the excuse they need to damn Barack. They were looking for an excuse to anyway. These people are not capable at this moment of being a part of what Lyndon Johnson called The Great Society. Hate, prejudice and discrimination have no place in our culture, only understanding and working for the greater good. Intelligent people KNOW that Senator Obama is the one to lead us to That Promised Land. That Dream will always live in the hearts of sensitive, intelligent Americans. Barack is the one we are counting on to bring the Dream to reality for ALL Americans ...even if they are brought there reluctantly.

How to Reclaim Momentum That Was Never Lost Without Going Negative: A Speech-Writing Wish List

I am writing to encourage a particular political method to combat what appears to be a partially successful spin campaign by the Clinton camp. It at least appears that the Clinton camp is attempting to portray us as: 'about to go negative'.

I believe the following form of 'political aikido' would be successful as a response in the form of the following questions to the press and public while at the same time maintaining the ground of 'high integrity' which is so pivotal to our campaign and movement, i.e.:

Barack Super Tuesday Speech

Two things of note: The line....WE are the people we've been waiting for...."

This...once again...made me go "YEAH! That's right! OUR time is not four years from now...the time is NOW!

And...

The fact that directly after his thanks and introduction, he leads off his speech with a nod to people in neighboring states (states that didn't vote for him)...thoughts and prayers go to Tennessee and Arkansas suffering from surprise tornadoes...

By contrast...Hillary worked in some initial sound bites and politicking before "worrying" about states that had supported her. It's a small distinction, for sure...but to me is representative of where her priorities lie. Look at the way she bailed on South Carolina...yet declared "victory" in a state with no meaning (FLORIDA).

Okay. Done for awhile on the blog. LOL!

Turn the Page

I had a wonderful day in NYC. I went to see Barack Obama speak at The National Action Network. He was funny… in the beginning of his speech he said “Something is buzzing down here” , it turned out to be Al Sharptons blackberry to which he joked, “Is that Hilary calling?”. The response…it’s your wife with the grocery list.

He spoke about the difference between words, just talking about it, and actually doing something. Providing examples of how he has impacted issues that matter to every day people. He spoke about his experience and how that has prepared him for this job. He discussed making change, and that change does not only lie with him being elected. We all have as responsibility to do our part. Every great change from civil rights to women’s rights to gay rights & wemens rights, has started with everyday people banding together for change. We can make this happen if we all just turn the page. We can effect healthcare, education, the war…together we can turn the page. I liked the message, turn the page.

He was warm, witty, passionate. He was motivating and while I have seen him on TV it was quite something to see him speak live…he has presence.

Now for the fun part.

I walked out of the conference room and made a left hand turn, wrong way…when Senator Obama and Al Sharpton walked by me in a flurry of press and security. I thought to my self ….now that was fun….They got on an elevator and I turned to the closest staircase to make my way out…

Talk about being in the right place at the right time…They were parallel to me. Press was asking questions but what was wonderful was that people were shouting out well wishes to Senator Obama. I saw him shake a few hands and thought …that’s down to earth….I wanted him to know that Hillary didn’t have the woman’s vote so I yelled out. “The women are for you”…He turned toward my voice, sought me out among the crowd of men and reached across two people looked me in the eye said thank you and shook my hand. I thought I just shook the hand of the President of the United States, what an honor…

The experience just confirmed for me that he is who he purports to be. When he states that The Grass roots are important, that it’s all of ours….this campaign…when he speaks to you like he is your next door neighbor, it is because that is his nature. He took the time to thank his well-wishers with acknowledgment and a handshake. He is for real. He can win this. He has motivated me further. Oh yes and he has the most wonderful handshake, strong but not overbearing, warm & inviting, like he is very pleased to meet you.

And then I went shopping J On the train back to Union County, who happened to sit next to me but my future wine class instructor (who I had reached out to about the class already) who just happens to live in the building where NJ for Obama just happened to hold their kickoff meeting Thursday 19th, 2007.

All in all and excellent day!! Now if only my camera battery hadn’t died…
