Just see how this mankind is suffering more and more from natural catastrophes, which are at least partly caused by our industrial society, ignoring the laws of nature, destroying our planet earth. Our eco system is allready damaged by greenhouses gases like Co2, and man urgently has to find a way to re-balance nature. If we just sleep and do nothing, the ecological and economical cost will be incredibly high, much higher than the investments we can do for the environment today !
Barack Obama has a great plan to solve this problem, turning America into a Green Nation with solar energy, wind power, hybrid and electric cars, sustainable alternative energies, energy saving methods and other green measures to save the environment, stop global warming and climate change, and the world will follow. America can become a world leader in green technologies and allready is in some green fields !
By doing green eco politics the economy will recover soon, as millions of new jobs will be created. We could live in a better world without air pollution and flooding, the number of hurricanes would decrease, and we even could save a lot of money, which we then could spend for real „Life“ !

My eleven year old son's analysis was the best:
"McCain probably would stop things from getting worse, like he could keep things steady. But I think the only one who can move things forward and into the future is Barack Obama. "
In general, I think Obama was talking to independents who want to know that he will make decisions based on fact, research and thoughtfulness about what is good for the country rather than speaking to the interests of various lobbying groups. I thought he emphasized all the important points on the economy like oversight and regulation for the bailout plan and on foreign policy. McCain spoke in very emotional and heartfelt terms and that felt good in some ways but problematic in the sense that no leader can necessarily stand by emotional comittments.
Feel good moments in a debate don’t win wars or solve an economic crisis and they often escalate problems. A president has to concern himself with resolving tensions and not causing simmering wars to break out into flames . . .and sometimes even our bitterest enemies have to be treated with a certain degree of distancing language, a kind of cool indifference. A president also has to make complicated calculations to govern an entire country with a diversity of opinion. This is a better position, kind of like playing one’s cards close to the vest. Obama was correct in his use of language but others might have appreciated stronger and more emotional language. Yet if he spoke in those terms, guess who would be calling him out?
I think Obama did great and established a good foundation upon which he can now confidently build. Remember, there are more debates and many days before the election.

CHOOSE YOUR vice president. Why you choose your veep will be YOUR BUSINESS. Why Obama chose HIS WAS AND IS HIS BUSINESS.
What's the matter? YOU WISHED FOR HILLARY on the Obama ticket so that you can trash Hillary and Barack with words Hillary provided from the PRIMARY contests between Hillary and Obama.
You would not choose until Obama chose. Well, Barack Obama has made his choice. And thank goodness, THIS Obama/Biden looks like a "dream team" that will give McCain/VP an honest, hard-punching, righteous fight based on the OBAMA blueprint of governance this country and we the people need at home and abroad.
Mind your business, McCain, choose your vice president and stop worrying about the choice Obama made.
MAYBE you ARE WORRIED about going up now against OBAMA and his most wise choice of Senator Joe Biden of congressional clout and expertise and real vigor at age NOT 47 BUT 65. AND REAL national and international EXPERIENCE of 35 YEARS, unlike Hillary Clinton who was offering fantasy national and international experience of 35 years like ducking fire on her Bosnia mission.

I worked Joe Biden in the Primaries, so when he dropped out on January 3rd, after much deliberation I decide to throw my efforts behind Barack Obama. I hoped and wished with all my heart these past 8 months that Barack would have the good judgment to pick Biden as his running mate.
Saturday my dream came true!
Barack and Joe will complement each other well, they are both strong leaders, and not afraid to tell the truth. I can't wait to see Biden debate the GOP VP candidate, he is going to chew them in half.
