How many times have you asked yourself, “What can I, as one person, do to influence the national health care debate?” This is the answer. The personal meetings of a canvass in a town or neighborhood really do make a difference. We will gather declarations of support for the President’s principles of health care reform and send the declarations to the members of Congress for each signer.
And here’s the best part:
I live on the East side of Las Vegas and graffiti is everywhere. Almost daily I read in the newspaper where somebody has been shot. Kids in schools nowadays have a pretty good chance of being exposed to the gang lifestyle, and that should scare us all. I live in a gated community, but recently I'm seeing kids up to no good walking around my neighborhood in the wee hours of the morning. The people living across the street from me have had their house broken into, and another family told me of graffiti they've seen in our community. My subdivision is only about 2 years old, but the signs are already there I have things to worry about. With foreclosures on the rise and homes becoming vacant, I feel gangs or other no gooders will move in and make things even worse.
I want to start up a community action group to bring people together to fight back, before things get too far out of control. And if your area is already out of control, team up and take it back. One way we can keep the value of our homes up is to come together and show our communities are ZERO tolerance when it come to bad apples. Brick by brick, block by block, we need to fight Guns, Gangs, Drugs, and Graffiti.
Anybody with me?
THE BIGGEST OBAMA EVENT YET! NEIGHBORHOOD WALK FOR BARACK
We have a GOTV event scheduled for this coming Saturday, October 25th, 2008 that can’t be missed by all you great volunteers out there! Here's the general idea:
If you'd like to support our Neighborhood Walk for Barack, come on down to our HQ at 505 Canal St. in New Smyrna Beach and we'll sign you up for your area and let you know where you can help.
Time is short so see us soon!
YES WE WILL!!
Hi neighbors. I know everyone has been busy, and for that reason I haven't organized any doorbelling or canvassing events here in town. There are opportunities through the Obama campaign Field Organizers in Everett every weekend, but none surrently scheduled in Marysville.
If I can get an idea of how many of you would be interested in Marysville canvassing, we could schedule something over the next couple weeks. Let me know! If there are interested volunteers, I want to get something arranged for you ASAP! Thanks for all you're doing on the campaign trail.

Our campaign goal for Mt. Adams, in a nutshell, is to GET OUT THE VOTE! Based on voting data and trends over recent years, Mt. Adams is Obama friendly territory. Our job will be to make sure every Obama supporter on the Hill VOTES. McCain's Palin pick is energizing the Republican base in rural evangelical districts, and Ohio is expected to be a battleground state once again. So we MUST make sure every Obama supporter from Obama friendly districts like Mt. Adams VOTES. Contact Davida, the Mount Adams Team Leader, if you are interested in seeing the nerdy number goals for different voter segments.
Most of our canvassing and phone calls will be to friendly Democrats and disillusioned Republicans. We will not spend less-efficient time squabbling with conservative voters. Moderates in Mt. Adams are already surrounded by Obama yard signs and bumper stickers. Just being in the culture of Mt. Adams ensures they are hearing pro-Obama arguments at restaurants, stores, parties, and bars. Therefore, our campaign work will be in making sure that everybody in Mt. Adams is registered to vote, and that everybody knows about Early Voting (new this year), Absentee Voting, and ID requirements at the polls.
For example, I was registering voters on Fireworks Sunday (while wearing an Obama shirt) and averaged one new registered voter every ten minutes... a far better use of time than hour-long conversations bickering over who wears flag pins more often than whom. Similarly, we want to use your time in the best way possible. So please mark these dates in your calendars:
Hello friends,
I was just getting to know the new Neighbor-to-Neighbor tool that the Obama campaing is giving us to bring in more voters to vote for Barack. I just set my account up and i got a huge list of possible voters that seem to be undecided right now. I just wanted to find people who may want to meet up and go around the neighborhood to meet these voters and help the campaing out. I live in Winterhark lane in Beaverton, OR so if you live around here send me a message and maybe we can plan something out.
Thank you.
Wow! Today I walked part of my neighborhood leaving flyers and talking to my neighbors. It was refreshing. Most were nice even if they were undecided or didn't want to hear about Obama. I challenge all who support Obama (who can physically do it) to walk your neighborhood three days per week go as far as you can go, have flyers with your phone number on them for your neighbors to call you, leave the phone number of the nearest campaign office in your area on them as well and remind them to register to vote.
My goal is visiting 20 households every time I go out. My goal is to go out three times per week. Up for the challenge? If so contact me at hadayai53@gmail.com. I will give a $5.00 gift certificate you can use towards buying merchandise from my online store at zazzle.com/hadayai (great Obama campaign items on the web site) for you if you go and walk your neighborhood three times per week.
Let me hear from you.
Fired Up! Ready to go!

One of the most important things you can do is signing up to become a neighborhood team leader. It's an opportunity to take ownership of the campaign in your own community and learn firsthand how our election process works. The Campaign for Change is counting on people like you to take on a leadership role in your community. Staff members will provide you with everything you'll need to become a leader in this movement for change. Michigan can only be won if people take leadership in their communities and make sure that their neighbors and community turn out for Barack in November.

Yesterday, Barack was back in Cedar Rapids meeting with local residents for a town-hall meeting. Check out the article below about some of the discussions.
Obama pledges 'strong, swift' disaster response
All across Iowa, the campaign for change is organizing to ensure that come November, we are getting the representation we need in Washington and a responsive government that is creating a discussion with the American public. We need your help to ensure that our campaign is reaching out to every corner of Iowa, and one of the best ways to get involved is by joining your Obama Precinct Team. For more information on getting involved, click here.
The 500 block of Randolph Street was filled with home owners of every ethnic hue, a feast for the eye only to have the smells of food compete as feast for the hungry. Nearly every home had barbeque grills ablaze in their front yards willing to share a rib, the best potato salad, or the sweetest water melon to any who passed by. As an Obama volunteer, I milled through these celebrations urging those who haven't voted to register and to discuss media coverage and policy positions to a very astute, but heretofore silent citizenry.
Today we went around our neighborhood knocking on doors for Obama. Meredith, my 4 1/2 yr old insisted on coming along and ringing door bells for "Obami". I told her that would be great, this is "Democracy in Action!" She said, "Yeah! let's go Mommy for Obami!" Meeting our neighbors and getting encouragement for Obama is a thrill especially when it's close to home. When I finally was able to get out there with my "feet in the street", I felt like I was really putting my words into action. There's something about getting out there step by step that cements your committment and belief in what you are doing. I can't wait to get out there again tomorrow. Just 15 more days until the TX primary then it's OBAMA TIME! The Obama rally at Fair Park today was so inspiring. I've never been to such a friendly crowd event in Dallas of all colors of the rainbow. You can feel everyone looking at each other with new eyes full of respect and friendliness. Just in the way everyone is greeting each other and connecting in conversation let's me know WE ARE ONE. This is Hope at work already!
Hi everyone,
I live in Jamaica Plain and work in Dorchester. I'd like to work with whoever volunteers to organize a meeting in both of those neighborhoods. Something soon, something folksy, down home, where we meet and talk and maybe even figure out what we want to do next. Maybe if a couple of neighborhoods meet it will catch on and we'll have BOFP potlucks throughout greater Boston. Any volunteers? Email me and we'll make it happen!
