ACTION: Preserve the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) - Petition

I just wrote to my members of Congress urging them to preserve the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). Over the last few years, there have been constant efforts to weaken this indispensable safeguard of our environment. These attacks have undermined a law that was passed to make sure the government "looks before it leaps" when considering any major federal projects that could impact our environment. NEPA is supposed to ensure that the government considers environmental and public health impact, and that it has real input from its citizens. These should be fundamental principles of a democracy, but now they are in danger! Please come help Barack & US in NEPA (north east pennsylvainia) we will have several offices open shortly in North East Penna.(info for such will be posted online as avail) We will be having several events over the next 6 weeks. Incl massive GOTV effort April 18, 19, 20, 21 & 22nd. Voter registration & visibility @ Scranton & Wilkes Barre St Patricks Day Parades THIS Saturday & Sunday we will pass out thousands of green O'BAMA ballons to the kiddies I will post this as an event in PA & NJ & NY groups with directions & contact info. We are working on housing for events, ( I can put up 2-3 & have camping for 15-20 more) have arranged housing for Natl Obama staffers already. NICE local hotels can be had $40-60. Events in the works...

Since we here in the 11th are still in need of some signatures, we are planning to hold some events in the coming days. I still have to touch base with the manager of Barnes & Noble, so I did not want to post as actual events just yet. However, for an FYI, we are planning to be at Barnes & Noble, downtown Wilkes-Barre (barring any problems) on Feb 1 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Feb 2 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and Feb 5 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. When I have the manager's approval (I am planning on calling him this afternoon), I will post the events formally. In the meantime, if you can make it during any of those times to help out, or if you just want to let us know that you will be stopping by, please feel free to drop me a line.
