Here's an interesting perspecticve:
"Instead, what shapes the consciousness of Americans are two psychodynamic issues: the level of their fear vs. the level of their hope, and the degree to which they feel recognized and respected by those who are seeking their vote. One of the terrible problems with the people who have pushed Obama to present himself as more "centrist" is that they don't understand how their role in pushing the candidate away from his own deepest truths has undermined his campaign and made him appear less authentic and hence less trust-worthy. So lets explore these issues."
If people believe the media is being harder on Palin because she is a woman...those people are expecting special treatment. McCain's people talked to the media about Clinton as if she was whining because the media was targeting her during her campaign bid because she's a women.
The GOP is always instituting a double standard. They don't want anyone to talk about Palin negatively because she's a woman, but they can be as negative as they want to be. They don't want anyone to say anything about Palin's family, but she used her son last night as a campaign tool. If it's in their favor, they'll do it, but if anyone from the media or the Democratic party does what they do...it's unfair and out of bounds.
I was just talking to some friends and they said that since Palin is the only one with a kid in the war, she's using that as a tool for her candidacy. They didn't realize that Biden has a son going to war...because he has dignity and doesn't use the fact that his son is over there as an attempt to get the sympathy vote.
Arghhh...how frustrating that the GOP always takes the low road, and has double standards.

I am an IT specialist with over a decade of management experience that happens to be built like a football player. So I make myself available for anything from assisting in the network and communication efforts to cleaning up debris from the street.
The time is now Mr. President, (to be), to take charge, to lead, to react without haste but with keen foresight, to do what you do best. I'm behind you!!!

'I honestly believe that she will find a way to get out of the race before the next primaries - so as to not hurt her future and to not be blamed for hurting Mr Obama and his chances in the general election.
Here are the reasons:
TRY THIS ONE ON

Nedra Pickler (!) of the AP reports that Former Clinton appointed DNC Chair Joe Andrew, without prompting, has switched to Obama based on the state of the campaign, and Obama's handling of the Wright eruption, and Hillary's irresponsible call for a summer gast tax holiday which Obama dismissed rightly as a pandering gimick.
I wanted to second his observation, and add an emphasis to the gas tax holiday issue, which is that because it have the net effect on increasing consumption of gas, it is a stance that no-one who is serious about the environment in general, and Global Warming in particular shou ever support.
May 6th is our primarry and if we can get these 3 congressmen to endorse Barack.
He has a great chance to win Indiana and Hillary should be out. Please help call or email them
Thanks!

With his state's critical primary in two short weeks, Democratic Indiana Sen. Evan Bayh -- a strong supporter of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton -- has been leaning on the Hoosier State's freshman House members to stay on the sidelines rather than endorse Sen. Barack Obama.
Obama is hoping to win the outspoken support of Reps. Brad Ellsworth, Baron Hill and Joe Donnolly. He campaigned for them ahead of their 2006 Democratic sweep, and their districts sprawl across the southern half and central heartland of Indiana -- white, working class areas that favor Clinton. Even a good showing in those districts could be enough for Obama to take the state, given his strength in Indianapolis and the largely African American north near Chicago.
In an interview today, Bayh said he has appealed to Ellsworth, Hill and Donnolly to stay out of the race until their voters have spoken. Clinton will take all three of their districts, he said.
"Why should they get crosswise with some of their friends if they really don't need to?" asked Bayh, perhaps the most powerful elected Democrat in the state.
Already, according to three House sources, one member has defied that appeal. Newly elected Rep. Andre Carson of Indianapolis had been in Bayh's sights before he broke for Obama.
The effect of any endorsement -- his included -- "really is pretty marginal," Bayh said.
This is my first blog posting, and I apologize for typos, etc.
The PA primary showed that HRC's willing to implement a "scortched-earth" campaign, and I hope that the Obama camapaign is ready for an even uglier fight in NC and Indiana. Senator Clinton can't catch Barack in terms of pledged delegates, and it's unliklely that she'll catch him in the popular vote, either. The only way HRC can capture the nomination that she's viewed as her birthright is by playing on class/gender/race issues that might scare sections of the electorate, as well as some super delegates.
I think Barack Obama needs to sharpen his economic message and draw in more anecdotes about growing up in households headed by women.
Obama's team also needs to refute Hillary Clinton's pitch to the superdelagates about her "winning big states" that are critical for the general election. That's nonsensical, and I can't envision a scenario where states like New York, California, New Jersey, Massachusetts, etc. will vote for John McCain over Obama once he officially becomes the standard bearer for the Democrats. Plus, it ignores that Obama won states like Virginia, Missouri, Iowa, etc. that while Senator Clinton couldn't.
Finally, I think Senator Obama needs to push HRC on her lack of leadership skills. For example: 1) HRC talks of the need for universal health care, but omits the fact that's she's one of the reasons why the country didn't move closer to that goal in 1993 (At the time, Democrats had control of the House, Senate and White House). HRC and her team of experts had a "big government" approach to health care reform, and they didn't bother to seriously involve congressional Democrats or Republicans in crafting health care reform legislation until it was clear that "Clinton Care" was cooked (Read The Agenda by Bob Woodward for more specifics.) 2) When celebrating her single digit victory in PA, HRC reiterated platitudes like she's fighting for all Americans. However, this omits the fact that in 2007, this primary was HRC's to lose, and that's just what she did. In 2007, HRC acted like the primary was less of a campaign and more of a coronation, and she didn't bother to organize people in all 50 states. (The MSM parrots HRC's claims that she's fighting for all Americans, but they ignore the fact that HRC wasn't willing to campaign and earn the votes of citizens in states like KS, CO, WY, etc. until she'd fallen behind). 3) HRC implies that she's behind Senator Obama in fundraising, but that's entirely of her poor leadership. The only reason why she had to give her campaign a $5 million loan (and her campaign's in the red) is because HRC decided to set aside over $20 million in donations for the general election. (Refer to the following NY Times article from March: Link ) If you can't manage a presidential campaign, and you don't take accountability for the actions of your campaign team (Ferrarro, Mark Penn, Pres. Clinton, etc.), why are you qualified to lead the nation?
Here's my journey - Road to the White House with Senator Barack Obama (WHAT A RIDE!)
Several months ago, I was listening to the radio and heard a man talking. He discussed his vision for educational assistance, affordable health care, securing the border, change in Washington, and working for the people. I thought..."Finally, someone has gotten it right!" Then, I heard the radio announcer say that was Barack Obama. I was hooked. He is compassionate, sincere, and gives hope for a better, safer America. I found myself saying, "Yes We Can" right along with him.
In early March, I called the Wake County Board of Elections (BOE) and requested information regarding registering people to vote. I was invited to come to the BOE and pickup 500 voter registration forms and an informational packet. I rushed right there and grabbed the whole lot.
During the following weeks, I grabbed handfuls of registration forms and walked the neighborhood, knocking doors and asking my neighbors if they were registered to vote and if so, if they were willing to take a couple forms to register any friends/family they had that might not be registered. I was pleased about the positive feedback that I received--even making some friends in the neighborhood. You see, I'm a quiet/too my self kind of person, who seldom get out in the neighborhood to mingle. But I cared deeply about this election and wanted to ensure that each and every person had an opportunity to make their voices heard.
And I pulled my daughters in by asking them to walk the neighborhoods with me. My oldest daughter speaks fluent Spanish and went with me to talk with the Latino community. Those who were documented completed voter registration forms on the spot. We knocked doors in the pouring rain until our knuckles ached, and then we drove to an indoor Flea Market and continued the push for voter registration.
I searched the Internet for information about Senator Obama and was disappointed to see that there were no organized events in Raleigh--at least, not then. So my girls and I drove to Durham, where I met some wonderful folks and participated in Organized Precinct Meetings; Yard Sign Making events--where my daughter painted a lovely portrait of "President" Obama that we donated to the Blue Coffee Cafe for graciously hosting the Durham4Obama meetings; and welcoming events for incoming volunteers, where I spent a wonderful afternoon blowing soap bubbles with children for Children4Obama.
And then it happened, I finally saw a meeting for Raleigh at Bogarts. There, I met some wonderful folks and exchanged contact information. But more importantly, I signed up to host volunteers in my home. I met Dan, who I immediately looked up on the Internet and saw that he was a chief something another for Senator Joust in Wisconsin. I think he was also a mascot of some kind...(ha, ha) or I was looking at the wrong person. And I met a great set of twins, who after one night sleeping on sofas in the loft and hearing a puppy bark all night seems to have made them run, run, run. :)
There was Monique, who is an adorable young woman from Chicago. She has been so kind and so patient, putting up with my late night blending and baking in the kitchen, which is close to her room.
These volunteers work so hard--leaving the house very early in the morning and working all day until the wee hours of the night.
A few times, I gave donations via Internet. Then I setup my own Fundraising site that generated only $40 (twenty from my babygirl and twenty from my disabled sister). Yes...that's really sad. I sent out many, many emails, but I think all my really wonderful, great, dependable friends, actually contributed to the main site instead of to my site--at least, that's what I'm hoping. :( LMAO!
Since this is a long and exciting story...I'm going to split it into several blogs. I have pics of the Lunch with Senator Obama and some movies. I hope you enjoy!
I've had the flu and then bronchitis for the last few weeks and have struggled to get the most basic statements across verbally between coughing jags. Now, while I'm still not 100% - I am a bit better and my dialing finger is itching so I am going back to phone banking!
I've enjoyed blogging and commenting and wandering around the site but now that I THINK I am up to it AND cause Pennsylvania is so soon - to be followed in quick succession by Indiana and North Carolina and Kentucky - I am getting back to the phone.
I invite everyone else to do the same and if you need some encouragement or just want to share tips and chat about phone banking - come join us at Barack's Inspired Phone Bank Army. It's a group with a great postive CAN DO attitude!
I have worked on a lot of campaigns. I've driven elderly voters to the polls, I've stood near entrance ramps to highways in near DC holding signs, made thousands of phone calls, and stuffed a lot of envelopes.
"What can I do?" is the question I've been hearing a lot lately. First, get on the phone, but for those of you that live in PA, IN, and NC, we need to show the political establishment that it is possible to win with grassroots organizing for things campaigns used to pay for.
1. Volunteer to drive voters to the polls.
In the past ward leaders dipped into campaign coffers to pay for drivers, there is no need for this. We have done incredible things across this country the new way - with internet organizing and a volunteer army! We have to show the country we care, and one of the best things you can do for this campaign is to help get every voter to the poll you can - give them the freedom to cast their vote. Don't let age or poverty be a barrier to Democracy! It's also a lot of fun - I heard great stories from older voters about elections held 50 or 60 years ago, the crazy political machines that used to dictate who won, stories about WWII, the depression, and the civil rights movement. You will be tired after a day of doing this, but you'll feel incredible and leave with a greater understanding of our country's people, past, and political process!
2. Be an Obama Ambassador! Put out yard signs, wear Obama gear, write letters to the editor of your local paper, put bumper stickers on your car, and a sign in the window!
Most of all learn the issues, familiarize yourself with what Obama has accomplished in the Senate, state legislature, and as a community activist. I actually sat down and wrote a point by point position paper on why I support Obama so I could more easily communicate my position when speaking to potential voters on the phone and when speaking to friends and neighbors who aren't as involved in politics as I am.
3. Organize a rally for April 19 - NationForChange.com and ObamaBrigade.com have state by state areas on their sites so you can find others in your area and have a rally. In many places they already have rallies planned, but they need you to show up! Make sure you contact local TV stations, newspapers, bloggers, and radio stations to let them know about the rally. Ask them to make an announcement that it's happening and ask them to cover it!
Why do this? We need to show Super Delegates and Pledged Delegates how much support Obama has and that we expect them to support the candidate that voters chose in their district/area.
4. Set Goals - here are some ideas:
Thanks for your time! The primaries may seem far off still, but we need every vote we can get and it will take hard work to win these primaries and unite the party behind the best person for the job, Barack Obama!!!
