Suggestions to saving the planet and creating millions of jobs are everywhere. But if you think it doesn't involve you think again. There's has never been a better time in history to have your thoughts heard. If its positive action your looking for then you must read this free info article. You don't need to be a rocket scientist or invent anything, simply adding your name can be enough to bring around change. It's called the Y3000 Plan. The Y3000 plan is designed to burn human waste (methane gas, for energy) in sewage plants, sending the left over waste into deserts and reducing Green House emissions by 20,000 tons a year. Why would we move it to the desert?

Building a new man made Amazon forest may not be as far fetched or difficult as some would have us believe. With global warming and co2 emissions on the rise the world is screaming for ACTION and Australia has the answer. In a land bound by sea Australia boasts desert lands of 1,317,000 sq kilometres which occupy 18% of the continent which are comprised of ten separate deserts sharing median rain falls of 150mm per year.

The high proportion of methane dissolved in the effluent represents a substantial loss of biogas for energy production, as well as representing a serious greenhouse risk should the methane subsequently escape to the atmosphere (since methane has twenty one times the global warming potential of carbon dioxide).
One possible avenue to reduce methane loss suggested by the pilot plant results is to add a controlled amount of air to the biogas used for mixing the reactor. The experimental results also showed that air in the biogas suppresses the formation of hydrogen sulfide, possibly avoiding the need to scrub this corrosive compound before using the biogas as a fuel. However, too much air would be toxic to anaerobic bacteria and would reduce biogas production. Further research is needed to determine the optimal amount of air to be used in mixing the reactor.
Some methane remaining in the effluent could prove beneficial in enhancing nitrogen removal by "denitrification" in the downstream process, and research is currently being conducted at the University of Queensland to study denitrification using methane.
The plant utilised an "anaerobic migrating bed reactor" which was subdivided into four reaction cells in a series. The contents of the first three cells were mixed intermittently by injecting bubbles of recirculated biogas, and the sludge was allowed to settle in the unmixed last cell.
To maintain a uniform distribution of sludge through the four cells, the flow direction was reversed automatically over a 24-hour cycle. The sludge settling characteristics are therefore critical in governing the sludge concentration and reactor volume required. (See figure 2).
Aquatec-Maxcon drew upon the technical expertise of an experienced wastewater treatment consultant, Ken Hartley, and the Advanced Wastewater Management Centre at The University of Queensland. Funding support was provided through the Queensland Sustainable Energy Innovation Fund.
Sewage treatment is a significant user of energy. Operation of pumps, blowers and other equipment at a typical sewage treatment plant requires an annual electrical energy consumption of about 50 kWh per person. Thus, substantial amounts of energy are required to treat sewage from major population areas, and sewage treatment often comprises the largest use of electricity by local governments.
At the present time around the world, your waste is costing a fortune and costing the environment even more. The Y3000 Plan can be implemented around the world. However the Y3000 Plan has been designed with Australia in mind because I'm more familiar with the Australian Landscape.
Australia Has invested approx 48 billion dollars to service around 21 million residents. Using the same figures America has invested $694,456,320,000 into servicing 300 million people. Waste Water Management systems around the world are the greatest waste of tax payers money ever.
The estimated combined annual profit estimated for the United States of America and Australia in 2009 is $0.00 until now Waste Water management has been the only resource owned by the government that doesn't make a profit.
By now you should be starting to get a bigger picture of how your tax money is spent and how much of your tax dollars are actually working for you and your country. It's the sole principle of the Y3000 Plan to encourage governments to start using our money properlyYour money should be used to partly self-sustain a countries economics. To continue to use tax dollars as the main form of raising money MUST end. When a company only has one, two or three forms of income that customers can't afford the company WILL GO BROKE. The same applies to governments.History has shown us proof of rich countries fall to a mere rubble and dust in comparison of today's standards. Ethiopia is a prime example. If we wish to keep our great Countries at the top of the food chain, change is inevitable.
In the midst of one of the worlds worst ever global economic crisis's our hard earned tax dollars are being thrown around like it's a game of monopoly. Words like hundred million, billion and even trillions of dollars seem to be the only words our trusted politicians know in these timesIt's estimated the United States of America Australian governments will inject 3.3 trillion dollars into our economies over the next 10years by the guise of stimulus packages. But where does that money come from? And why do we need so much money injected in our economy? Continue Reading Complete Article
The Y3000 is a perspective for future development, combining technology, man power and better land use management. The eventual outcome of the Y3000 plan is to dramatically reduce the carbon footprint of approx 7,617,930 sq kilometres, the size of Australia.
It''s predicted that the Y3000 plan will have a multiple effect ranging from reduced unemployment rates, lower social welfare drains on our economy, reduction of the hole in the ozone layer, 60% reduction in the burning of fossil fuels for the purpose of electricity, reversal of Antarctic glaciers melting and a cleaner greener planet.
Putting Obama in office was just the beginning. We’ve won a major battle but not the whole war. Now we have the equally daunting and critical challenge of making sure that Obama is able to fulfill the promise that he represents. We need to keep working to take back our democracy and advance Obama’s progressive agenda.
That’s why I’m working with a network of progressive people throughout Maryland to get communities across the state organized and mobilized to in support of building a new clean green, inclusive energy economy and bold federal climate action – two major priorities for president Obama. We’ve teamed up with an amazing national grassroots climate campaign called 1Sky whose goal is to build volunteer climate action teams in every community that will push our congressional leaders to be champions of bold federal climate and clean energy policy. For more info go to http://local.1sky.org/en/.
As you may know, Maryland Congresspeople including House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, Chris Van Hollen, and John Sarbanes are extremely influential and will have a big impact on the type of climate policy that congress passes. By influencing them we can have a huge influence on the climate fight, but we need to act now because Congress is working on climate legislation as we speak.
2009 is going to be the pivotal year for climate action! If you care about the issue this is the year to act. You can make a difference in just a few hours a month. Help us make history. Please contact me today to let me know if your interested in joining our local 1Sky climate precinct team!

For several years, I have been trying to build up momentum for a program that would educate and encourage people to Take Care of Their Share of the environment.
The central focus for this initiative would be a central (federal) website that provides information for any citizen that wants to learn how to Take Care of Their Share of the environment. This federal site would contain links to federal organizations that provide this information, such as the DEP and NRDC. This site would also have links to similar pages for every state government, that would list resources within that state that teach citizens how to Take Care of Their Share of the environment.
I think this is of critical importance for several reasons. First, there is just too much information out there and it is spread so thin that it is virtually impossible to locate. And when you do locate it, you have no way of knowing how accurate or verifiable the information is.
The federal and state governments have access to scientists and other experts in the fields of environmental health.
Second, President Obama is the perfect president to implement this. He is all about rallying the people to do their part, and his inspirational messages have the power to encourage them.
Third, President Obama wants to help support green collar jobs and I feel that it is important to recognize that green writers and green web designers need to be included in this initiative.
Now the question is, how does one going about trying to push through something like this?
I started contacting state governments back in 2007 about this idea and I have gotten very little support. I think it needs to come from the top but how does someone get the ball rolling on something like this?
***Now, before anyone visits the website and gets turned off by the advertisements, keep in mind that I have been working on this project for over 5 years (started locally and moved nationally) and have received no pay other than minimal MINIMAL donations from my friends. The ads were recently added to try to support the costs of the website.
As the recent trend towards environmental stewardship has begun to bring more visitors to the site, I have revamped my efforts to update the pages, listing groups within each state that provide environmental information to their citizens.
On Tuesday, February 3rd, I sent email messages to contacts from every state government asking them for assistance in gathering information for their state.
Only three states have responded so far. Delaware was the most diligent. A representative from the Delaware Department of Natural Resources sent a very long list of organizations within the state that provide environmental information.

-- Stimulus -- Keep it simple!
Halve Employer and Employee payroll taxes for small to large sized business for 1 to 2 years. Increase the Employer Tax reduction based on the level of health and retirement benefits provided to their employees.
This provides real and tangible salary stimulus increases to consumers while simultaneously adding incentive for employers to retain and provide health and retirement benefits to their workforce. Universal healthcare options can be later offered for additional savings to the employer once universal heath care services are in place.
Invest stimulus in transportation infrastructure; Road, Rail, Air and Sea, emphasizing security both environmental and homeland.
Invest in education infrastructure; facility and teachers with increase focus on early childhood services.
Provide low interest housing to all teachers, fire and police employees and military personnel.
-- Cash Flow --
Tax each trade/transaction in the Stock market approximately $0.50. This tax provides government revenue in both bull and bear markets. This would create around 1 trillion dollars per year using a current rough daily average of the Dow Jones alone. This may have a potential beneficial side effect of limiting stock trade volatility.
Increase taxes on large sized US corporations who operate globally but don't comply with US environmental and labor laws. Tariff foreign imports from International companies that don't recognize US/Global environmental and labour laws or that are uncompetitively subsidized by their governments..
Eliminate offshore tax shelters for US Corporations.
"Sen. Joe Lieberman will keep his chairmanship of the Senate Homeland Security Committee despite hard feelings over his support for GOP nominee John McCain during the presidential campaign. The Connecticut independent will lose a minor panel post as punishment for criticizing Obama this fall.
Lieberman's colleagues in the Democratic caucus voted 42-13 Tuesday on a resolution condemning statements made by Lieberman during the campaign but allowing him to keep the Homeland Security Committee gavel. He loses an Environment and Public Works panel subcommittee chairmanship, however."
(Actually, he gave up his position on the Environmental and Public Works Committee altogether. However, Lieberman is also on the Armed Services Committee, where he chairs an important subcommittee.)
The article concludes with a statement made Friday by Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., who opposed the move.
"To reward Senator Lieberman with a major committee chairmanship would be a slap in the face of millions of Americans who worked tirelessly for Barack Obama and who want to see real change in our country. Appointing someone to a major post who led the opposition to everything we are fighting for is not 'change we can believe in."'
I discussed Lieberman's situation in my new blog, Keep Joe Lieberman, which has now achieved its purpose. By their actions, the Senate Democrats have shown that there’s hope for them yet!It is also important to note that Lieberman caucused with the Democrats as an Independent Democrat, so he was not obliged by this to support Obama, just as Bernie Sanders could have supported
I'm glad that Obama seeks to govern rather than to seek revenge. Too bad there are so many "Democrazies" out there who aren't getting the message.
We know that the earth grows smaller and smaller each day. We can no longer exist as separate nations. We look for a sense of renewed deep belief that is necessary for human beings. And the answer is: the earth, itself--in the feeling of oneness and unity that it gives to us. We are all members of the same bio-world. Wherever, however, we live, we all have the same needs for air and water. We all have the same needs for nutrition. We all see the same sky, touch the trees and plants, have communions with the other animals around us. These are factors which bind us together into one, a unified whole celebrating Our Mother Earth's spirit. www.circleoftheearth.org
This weekend I sat in my car for over half an hour in a line at a local gas station. Why? Well, Hurricanes Gustav and Ike have damaged the coast and hampered oil production in both Texas and Louisiana. Was I thrilled about this turn of events? In a way I was quite thrilled in spite of the fact that I could end up being inconvenienced to the point of only leaving the house for an emergency. Let me explain.
Back in 1973 Republican President Richard Nixon asked Congress to grant him emergency powers to lower fuel consumption and circumvent environmental regulations in order to meet the demand for fuel as the nation faced a natural gas, fuel oil, and gasoline shortage. The Arab-Israeli War, that had begun in October of 1973, had forced oil-producing Arab nations to make the decision to cut oil production and shipments to the United States. In the mid-1970s, after Nixon's fall from grace, Democratic President Jimmy Carter donned heavy sweaters in the Whitehouse and asked Americans to lower their thermostats to conserve a certain finite source called oil. The nation suffered a brief oil shortage back during his administration. President Carter tried to warn a largely disinterested public about the danger of America's dependence on foreign oil. There were public service announcements about how oil was (and remains) a finite resource and that we needed to conserve it and find other means to fuel our cars and warm our homes. Carter was right back then, but I doubt if anyone was really paying attention.
I have been involved in environmental issues for over ten years now as a member of the National Resources Defense Council. I proudly recycle plastic, glass, and all kinds of paper. I buy as many biodegradable products as I can find and take my canvass bags to the grocery store rather than use store-brand petroleum-based plastic bags. I drive a fuel efficient car and pray that when it is time to buy another car that the hydrogen car can be purchased nationwide rather than in a few enclaves of California. I have had numerous debates with an assortment of nitwits who refuse to believe that Global Warming is real. I have often been called a "tree-hugger." I ran into some of those folks at the gas pumps this weekend. I did not gloat. I did not have to.
I watched Barack Obama debate an out-of-touch John McCain on Friday September 26. I watched Barack tie our dependence on foreign oil to our missteps in Iraq. The Bush administration's unwillingness to promote investment in alternative energy solutions is also a problem for our economy. Alternative energy solutions is the way out of oil dependence, further environmental degradation, and a means of jump-starting a sluggish economy. It has taken a while for some folks to catch on, but Jimmy Carter was right. Barack need only continue connecting the dots.

Other than being the first female on the Republican ticket, Palin is not very different from past candidates or the other candidates that were mentioned. Oh, she might invite different scrutiny because she is a woman...but that is more likely to make me root for her than oppose her. And why use such an arbitrary reason as her gender to make assertions? Her record and beliefs speak for themselves...
1) Palin is pro-life. So pro-life that she does not support the right of a woman to abort in cases of incest or rape. I'm sorry, but that just goes too far. VICTIMS should be able to use any means necessary to recover from the attack that they have suffered - a 9 month reminder of their attack is probably not the best way to assist their recovery.
2) Palin believes in Abstinence Only programs. The last few years increase in teen pregnancy firmly shows that Abstinence Only programs are not giving teens the tools or the information to make choices that will prevent them from becoming pregnant. Media also bears some blame in this situation, as they have made teen celebrity Moms a focus of adulation and front covers.
3) Palin authorized the aerial shooting of wildlife, specifically wolves, in Alaska. While I am a supporter of hunting and limited gun rights - I can see no reason to authorize a very NON-SPORTING method of hunting that is unneccesarily cruel.
4) Palin has a vested interest in promoting the agenda of big oil. She is in a state that benefits in a big way from the status quo of oil production. Her husband is employed by big oil. I hesitate to believe that her opinions and actions regarding big oil are not influenced by her position in Alaska and her husband's employment.
In short, PALIN IS MORE OF THE SAME! While her gender may differ from candidates of the past, she is simply a carbon copy of Republicans like Senator Phil Graham and President George Bush. The only different perspective that she does bring to this ticket is an "outside Washington" view. I'm sure this week at the convention will bring her up to speed on how to fit into Washington politics and that might, indeed, be her downfall.
America's landmark law protecting endangered species is under attack and we need your help. Late yesterday, news broke that the Bush administration has drafted proposed new rules to dramatically weaken the Endangered Species Act. We need your help to fight back. Add your voice to the chorus of opposition to this outrageous proposal.
