Now that our new President-Elect Barack Obama has been chosen to lead the way in a new direction for this country, what are some of your thoughts and feelings about any changes thus far and where do you think, we as a people, are headed durning this new and exciting campaign for change? The fact is, we know what the Bush Administration has done to this country and the economics that has been bestowed upon the American people. We know that George W. Bush was in office not only for personal gain but also to benefit his cornies finanically. What are some of your thoughts about the Bush Administration during it's last and final dying days? What personal experiences, if any, have you had with this present Administration, good or bad? We like to hear from you!

A Proud sponsor and supporter of the Obama campaign
From Canada, all I can say is Thank you America for restoring our faith in your great country. For me, the miracle of this election isn't just that you elected an African American to be President, but that you elected the best person for the job, regardless of his skin color. In doing so, you have elevated your country and once more become a beacon of light for the world.
The miracle of this election is that the voices of intelligence, idealism and reason have drowned out those whose battle cry for the past eight years has been 'division, fear, demagoguery and religious fundamentalism'. Obama Voters, you are the 'real Americans', the 'true patriots'.
As a Jew, I'm also heart wrenchingly proud of Jewish Americans, who did their homework, volunteered, researched the facts, set up ad hoc truth squads and spread the word via emails, the internet and mouth to mouth. Despite all of the lies and slander slung at him, an astounding 78% of you voted for Barack Hussein Obama. No world, we weren't scared of his middle name. His intelligence, insight and idealism made us all color and 'name' blind.
What we quickly became terrified of, however, were the voices of ignorance who preached their fundamentalist agenda of no choice for women, creationism, lack of respect for science, intolerance, right to bear arms, and who yelled 'drill baby drill' and 'terrorist' - they who tried to shoot down the values of the American dream that we and our ancestors left families behind and risked their life and limbs for in order to immigrate to North America's shores.
As a result of every enlightened American's vote, the world now gazes at the USA with pride, admiration and love once again.
GOD BLESS AMERICA and God Bless Barack Obama. May you find the strength, patience and wisdom to restore your great country again. And may you find the strength, patience and wisdom to bring light to those parts of the world that still live in the darkness of xenophobia, that idealize terror and worship fundamentalist ignorance.
May your efforts result in a world filled with more peace and enlightenment.
It's a tall order, but we pray that you can, at the very least, steer the world in that direction.

Dateline: ParisNo, make that Dateline: Obama Soiree. The fetes for Barack Obama spilled out of American restaurants and onto cobblestone rues, the town hall of the 3rd Arrondissement (where they were showing American movies all night), and the enormous Palais de Congres! O-ba-ma! O-ba-ma! And this was early in the evening before we knew for sure that Democrat Obama won the presidency, though the vibe had steadily been coming and growing. The Obama vibe had been laying a solid foundation in the months leading up to our man's big electoral bang.
CNN has reported today that there are as many as 4,000 absentee ballots missing and unaccounted for today in the state of New Mexico. That is just flat out atrocious and it make me wonder how many other absentee ballots are missing in other states. If the Republicans want to provide a good America, then why not win the Election within a good manner of fairness and not just dirty tricks? In the 2000 Presidential Election between Al Gore and George W. Bush, the Republicans stole it for Bush due to the many absentee ballots casted for Gore that mysteriously went missing. That of course was corrupt, and that corruptness continued throughout Bush's entire 8-year term as President. This has to change, and it begins with Barack Obma of the Democrats.Canada wants Obama, and America should want Obama too, if they too want a good America. A good America will result in a revival of that original American Dream, a dream that has been missing since the 90's with President Bill Clinton.Choose “REAL CHANGE” with your "VOTE" and not the same “Empty Republican Promises” and dirty tricks. Please America, do not back down on this Election. Make sure your vote counts, and make sure your vote makes an impact with Barack Obama!Sources:1) http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/11/04/some-absentee-ballots-mia-in-nm-county/#more-283432) http://www.digitaljournal.com/article/261974

I woke up this morning surprisingly without the help of my alarm clock, Kinda like those christmas mornings as a child when you wake up too excited to get dressed properly. There was a sense of tranquility in the air, not to chilly, not too dark when I left the house. I made two trips to my voting location, I realized I ran out without I.D. I was not about to hear some nonsense about not being able to vote. I have been here a lil over a year but truly a Philly Boi, I knew I registered shortly after moving here but, you never know. The line was not long at all, I felt myself tear up a few times as I saw people genuinely concerned about being in line themselves, calling others to tell them to come get in line while it was reasonably crowded, having breakfast while standing in line. I felt a sense of connection and a feeling of people coming together to get something done, a feeling I have not felt in a very long time. I am as new to the political scene as I am to blogging but, I do know that I am very proud to say I support Barack Obama. It was such a memorable morning for me, the entire day has gone rite since then. I even lucked up and got the day off. I have been commemorating the whole experience on film...
Barack, making a difference already.
Blessings and heartfelt prayers to Barack, Maya and their families during this time of grief for Grandma Toot.
God Bless.
It has been almost two months since my grandmother started her blog at 85andchange.com. Working on this project with her has been so exciting. She never ceases to amaze me with her energy and tenacity. She is a most amazing woman, and it means so much to me to have had this experience. I wish every grandchild could have a bonding experience like this with their grandparents. We have so much to learn from our elders.
Over the last several weeks have traveled to see Joe Bide, Bill Clinton, and Hillary Clinton. Each speaker has been an inspiration and motivational. But today the excitement hits an all time high. Today we get to go downtown and see Barack, Michelle, and Bruce Springsteen! What an appropriate and fitting end of the campaign. We are both so excited, we can't contain ourselves! The only excitement that can compare to it will come on Tuesday evening when it becomes clear that the nation has chosen Barack Obama to be the next president of the United States!

Just so you know, while I don't get my news from MSNBC, I do watch it to see what the pundits are saying and to catch what Obama, McCain, Biden, and Palin are all saying at their rallies. Two of my most favorite liberals in the world happen to work for MSNBC. They would be Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow. Little sidenote on Maddow, I have been a gigantic fan of hers for years thanks to my one-time obsession with Air America Radio. She and Mike Malloy kept me sane following 2004's election.
From time-to-time I'll flip it on FOX News just to see what the maniacs are up to, especially if comedian Bill O'Really is on. And finally there's CNN and while I cannot stand the regular hosts over at CNN, I love their pundits. Love them! But the pundits are not the reason why I love CNN. Nope. I love CNN because of two factors: 1) John King's "Magic Board"! I fucking love that thing and I want one in my house. It is my opinion that King's board has single-handedly influenced most of the internet's electoral-college toys that are now found everywhere. Seriously, they're copies of King's gizmo. Something that cracks me up is how poorly of a job MSNBC has done in coming up with their own "Magic Board"! They have some crappy little touch screen with telestrator functions and Microsoft's 'Surface' software. It looks like crap when you consider that King can zoom in and zoom out just by waving his hands, not to mention that he can close in on ANY county in the U.S. and retrieve up-to-the-minute poll figures or get the percentage in which single-white-women-students voted for Clinton in 1992 from said county! While the MSNBC screen can only make the drawing lines blue or red. Poor Chuck Todd. He's a goddamn genius in my opinion and he's stuck with technology from 1996 while that creature John King who wears more make-up than Bill Mahr gets the screen from 'Minority Report'.
Remember that silly John McCain celebrity ad against Barack Obama?
Here's a cute spoof.

Obama has already changed the political and spiritual landscape in the United States and in the world, for the better. As a candidate, he is subject to the fantastic smear attacks of his warlike opponents. As a President, he will be able to restore ethics and moral values in the United States of America and beyond.
We cannot afford to lose this election, and I cannot stress that enough. We have survived 8 years under a terrible administration, and it is almost, almost over. We cannot let this opportunity slip through our fingers. A leader as intelligent, progressive, charismatic, and inspiring as Barack Obama, rarely comes around, and even more rarely, gets this close to becoming the President of the United States. If we don’t do everything in our power in the next few weeks to get him elected, it will be too late. This is not the time to procrastinate.
Senator McCain How could you be proud of your audience calling Obama a “terrorist” shout “Kill Him”?
Senator McCain, why do you make fun of and diminish the importance of “A woman’s health”?
Senator McCain, how can you lie about Obama’s record and run the most negative campaign in history and be proud of the campaign you are running?
Senator McCain, how can you vote with Bush over 90% of the time in the last 8 years and not be mistaken for Bush?
Senator McCain, how can you pretend to care about Joe the plumber, when you think being middle class is making $9 million?
Senator McCain, how can you say that you’re a maverick when all you have been is a sidekick?
Senator McCain, how can you politicize a special need baby for your own political ambitions?
Senator McCain, how can provoke violence and encourage racism in your rallies and feel hurt when somebody calls you on it?
