In continuation of the topic on racial attacks against Indian students (from India) in Melbourne, Australia, the incident in the new millennium strikes resemblance to apartheid in South Africa until it became free in 1994.
Australia designated as the industrialized nation, multicultural yet homogenous society…devoid of major ethnic representation in politics, democratic with mandatory voting (the only democratic nation to impose penalty for not voting) and,
A willful participant in all U.S. led major conflicts from Vietnam to Iraq - is a commonwealth nation sworn allegiance to Great Britain’s monarch as the head of the Republic.
The nation from “down under” celebrated bicentennial in 1970 and 1988 to commemorate the permanent white settlement is not a young republic and not new to controversies either.

Prelude: The topic will touch base on the human rights violation and much more about the nation from “Down Under” – Australia.
The United States preoccupied in numerous important events unfolding by the hour, international community set their eyes on the much-anticipated speech from the U.S. President Barack Obama in Cairo, Egypt and,
Other industrialized nations engaged in criticizing China on the eve of Tiananmen Square; similar events involving the brutal racist attacks on Indian students lured to the Australian educational institutions could not compete effectively in the press and media coverage.
As a website committed towards issues generally isolated by the large focus groups in the media and press, a detailed analysis on the appalling incidents concerning Indian students systematically targeted for their ’skin color’ in the new millennium, twenty first century is attention worthy.
Please stand by for the in-depth coverage on the topic presented shortly.
Meanwhile, please take a moment to review the You-Tube images of the incidents and the victims’ plight in the “socially-advanced” nation in southern hemisphere - @ http://www.padminiarhant.com

Does this not look like one big circle of tension to you? It sure does to me, and it’s one that is growing far too tight in tension now. As a result, it could only be a matter of days, weeks, or months before one nation pulls the trigger to ignite World War III (WWIII).Sources:1) http://www.thejerusalemgiftshop.com/israelnews/politics/80-political/335-warnings-from-world-leaders-all-within-72-hours-.html2) http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601087&sid=amM6gBY9JgJA&refer=home3) http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5iyTh4daEIukZscHQWC558dEr3x5gD94BR7FG04) http://www.thejerusalemgiftshop.com/israelnews/israel-news/83-israeli-news/407-israel-war-on-iran-on-the-radar.html

Dear Mr Barack Obama - President Elect of the United States of America,
Sincere congratulations on winning the election yesterday on such a momentus occasion.
I was very pleased to hear the news of your success.
This will be a day to go down in history as a positive day to remember.
I am an Australian who lives Sydney and the Australian people have been enormously interested in the outcome of your US election especially with the "LIVE" coverage throughout our nation of 20 million people.
It was a joyous moment when I heard that you Mr Barack Obama had won the position of the 44th President Elect of the United States of America.
Hi American cousins! Did you know, two recent polls in Australia, where I come from, have Barack Obama as preferred President, one poll by 73 per cent, the other poll at 76 per cent! One thing though, we do not know how Barack Obama will relate to us Aussies, trade and security wise, as he said nothing about Australia in his main speech on foreign policy, whereas McCain mentioned Australia several times, in positive ways. America, as I see it, needs to change the way the world sees it. I have American relatives, and my father fought in WW2, so his kids were brought up to respect America, because only your country came to our aid in times of need, in that war. However, not everyone overseas thinks this way. So much damage has been done by the Bush administration over the last eight years; so many lies, so many rights we once held dear under deomcracy have been eroded, that it is imperative that America makes a change for the better. Most people outside of America can only see the damage the Republican Party has done to the world; in false wars, now the wreck of the economy. Most people feel Obama as the only chance to try and heal the wounds caused by Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and their gang. Let us hope Obama wins, and brings peace and healing to America and by that example, brings healing and peace to the world.

In 1955, when racism was still a big issue in the United States of America, Ella Fitzgerald became the first African-American to perform at the Mocambo, after Marilyn Monroe had lobbied the owner for the booking. The booking was instrumental in Fitzgerald's career. Marilyn would promise the owner that she would appear every night (and be on time), and this way also fill the house--and she did, she was there every night, and she filled the house and: she was always on time! Their close friendship lasted for many years and Ella would sing Marilyn Monroe's famous 'My Heart Belongs To Daddy' in honor of her wonderful friend Marilyn Monroe, who died almost 34 years before she passed on in 1996, at age 79. From my usual blog today:
After watching the VP debate it is clear that Sarah Palin is both horrible and stupid. ...George Lakoff is one of America's best progressive communications strategists and he warned before the debates that both Obama and Biden have to "show just how extremist the McCain/Palin ticket is". .
What do you think is the best way to defeat the folksy monster - Sarah Palin???
G'day from Australia!
Obama and Biden, in my humble Englishman-living-in -Australia opinion, are the new start that America needs. The standing of America as one of the world's most respected leading nations has taken a serious blow thanks to 8 years of mismanagement and Bush-led buffoonery.
From this side of the world Obama and Biden seem like two genuine, caring men who can help drag the world out of the mess Bush has created. Let’s hope that McCain doesn’t win the race to the Whitehouse; if he does the whole world will be shaking in their boots!
As former Nixon/Reagan aide-turned media commentator, Pat Buchanan stated: “He (McCain) will make Cheney look like Gandhi,”.
Thanks to all the Barack Obama supporters who came out in their Obama finery to participate in the largest fun run in the world, the Sydney City To Surf race!
We had a gorgeous day for the race and would have been seen by hundreds if not thousands of other participants (70,000+ registered for the race this year).
We handed out as many "Tell An American To Vote - Send them to www.VoteFromAbroad.org" cards as we could manage without tripping up, and the Obama balloons went down a treat! (And also helped keep us from losing each other in the massive crowds!)
I would strongly recommend Obama supporters to consider getting a group together to walk in fun runs and hand out leaflets on upcoming campaign events. If there are enough of you I'm sure you'll be generating a lot of press attention as well!
The Obama For America campaign has arrived in the South Pacific!
I am so thrilled to be working for the campaign to help supporters organise themselves to Get Out The Vote for Barack Obama for President in Australia, New Zealand and The Philippines.
If you are, or know anyone, in one of these countries and have a desire to help with the campaign please contact me as soon as you can on cpolce@tpg.com.au. There are also Facebook groups set up for each of these countries, so if you are on Facebook I welcome you to sign up for the campaign there.
Look forward to hearing from you.

Well, the contentious cover on The New Yorker has made the news in Australia.
Many people down here don't know what The New Yorker is; you can get it on the newsstands (for something like AU$18), but it's hardly a household name. I subscribe, and have for years, even since before I moved to Australia from D.C. It costs me a pretty penny to renew, and my delivery isn't quite timely.
In fact, I haven't even received the issue with the cover in question. Just yesterday I finally got the issue right before it, the one with Seymour Hersch's article on Iran. But everyone has heard about it.
US planned nerve gas tests on Aussies IT'S been revealed that the US military planned to test deadly nerve gas on Australian soldiers in far north Queensland during the Cold War.
Newly declassified Defence and Prime Minister's office files show that the US was strongly pushing then prime minister Harold Holt's government in the 1960s to allow tests of two of the deadliest chemical weapons ever developed -- VX and GB, better known as Sarin nerve gas........

Being an Australian, I have a unique view point on the race that is ensuring. This race actually affects Australians more than people will realise. As the "Younger Siblings" to America, we end up following in the footsteps of our "Elder Siblings" no matter how misguided those steps are.
Admittedly, the current heated race was not on the radar in the Australian Media with small reports of Hillary being inevitable winner until friends of mine stumbled upon Will I AM's video clip.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BHEO_fG3mm4
I was moved.
I researched this man with the funny name. And fell in love with what our Elder Siblings were moving towards under the leadership of this young and talented man. Yes, his appeal does stretch outside America's borders. Welcome to the information age.
Barack Obama and his campaign are showing the entire Democratic Party how to run a successful campaign. Having no internal issues involving staff even after major Primary losses is a credit to Barack and his Senior Staff Members. If anything, this is another reason for the Democratic Parties and Superdelegates to choose Obama to run the campaign in November.
How on earth Hillary can argue that she has a better chance in November when you look at how she fumbled her "Inevitability" tag to be wearing the "Sore Loser" and "Runner Up" tag.
Currently Hillary is tarring people with being misogynistic in regards to her campaign. Aw heck, Even Elton John said it when he came out and played for her.
By claiming that being a woman is a factor in her losing the nomination indirectly tars Barack and his supporters as being misogynistic and hence drives the wedge into the Democratic Party and its chances to win in November whilst sidestepping the core issue of her running a bad campaign. Instead of flocking to Obama when he takes the nomination, her core group now threatens to vote for John MaCain instead of voting for the man who's virtually the same as Hillary in terms of policy yet run a much smoother and smarter campaign.
To me it smells like Barack's being held hostage by the whims of the Clintons. I can only hope that he practices what every government does with hostage situations and doesn't cave into the request.
Currently the idea of Hillary being 2nd on the ticket is quite disturbing for me and this is why. It's popularly viewed that after 8 years of a failed Bush administration, this year is the year of change. Barack knew that and has run with it. Coming from nowhere, embracing new ideas and being the full embodiment of change as a smart leader should. Here’s a fantastic article is which shows how Barack is tapping into technology and minds that are crusading the Information Age. Being the leader of the now and not the past.
http://www.theatlantic.com/doc/200806/obama-finance
He's now poised to take this to the November election. Only problem is that Hillary does not fit this Paradigm of "change".
And even viewing her current campaign as her “Resume”, you would be hard pressed to see a person who needs to lead America out of the crippling slow down it's currently facing.
More disturbingly, the Republicans will no doubt be running a campaign revolving around "Reform" and headed by a "Maverick" who's been previously outspoken against Bush. Even though Yet of late, MaCain has pandered to the conservative crowd in his party and hence lost all real outstanding qualifications that made him different to Bush. Barack needs to stand tall on "Change" and needs a VP that supports "Change" yet also brings in experience to help him against the argument that Obama is unqualified to run for Commander in Chief. As much as I wish it was as I was actually a fan of the Clintons, This is defiantly not Hillary but possibly one of Clinton’s chief backing Superdelegates such as Evan Bayh.
Barack cannot go into the General Election running a "Change" theme with Hillary on the ticket, the Republican Party will simply “Swift boat” that ticket out of the race. Yet the other side of the coin is that Hillary really can’t go into November running her current "experience" campaign as John Macain would crush her with his heavy portfolio of experience. The democrats have to go in all guns blazing into this November as we currently see the Republican Party appearing to be sinking; we might just see how dirty a cornered rat will end up fighting.
Personally, I hope Barack continues to run with the idea of change, but also does a few things.
Until Next Time,
-Nathaniel Wilson
"If the world is ending, Australia is 10 hours ahead of America so we can give you almost half a day's warning!!"
I know it is dangerous to comment on, or interfer, with politics in which one has no stakeholding. However, I have been moved to show my support for Obama.
As an Australian, I can't say that I follow all of the sophisticated complications and intricacies of the primary system. What I know is that is clear that the US influence on the world is undeniable. Other than Obama, no-one has said or done anything that gives us in other countries cause for such optimism and hope that the power of the US might be used in a positive, transformative way.
I just read another blog (from a supporter in Canada), suggesting a show of international grass roots support.
Let us as, the ordinary people of the international community, show our support for Obama, his campaign and his message.
My wife and I have already decided that in the event of an Obama innauguration in January, we will be in the crowd, adding our small, Aussie accented voices to the cheers of support.
By the way, we too have recently had a magnificient response by our new Prime Minister to a major racial issue in this country - our response to the so called issue of the "Stolen Generation". It is so refreshing to hear a US political leader deal with an immensely complicated issue in a sophisticated manner. I just hope that the media don't diminish the sophistication of Obama's argument by reucing it is contextless soundbites.
Here in Australia we don't have a say in who runs America but the decision America makes has an impact on all of us around the world. For many, the United States has been a beacon of freedom and democracy, a chalice of hope and a home for our dreams but for the last few years, many of us have been saddened by the hurt and pain that you've endured and the anger with which your Government has responded.Barack Obama fills that chalice with hope again and I, as someone who wants America to be a super hero again and not just a super power, wish him every success in his quest to become President of your United States.Because, in a way, they're our United States too.
