Excerpted from my personal blog:
Payton handed me the microphone."I have a special surprise tonight, if you're willing to make a few more calls for Barack."A pause. Dramatic effect. People looked a little annoyed that I was interrupting whomever was speaking on MSNBC.And then, in my best who-wants-a-cookie-Madagascar voice, I said, "I just know some of you have been waiting all night to call Wasilla," while waving the fat stack of call sheets. "There's only one hour left before Alaska's polls close."Eyes widened. A moment earlier, only five people wanted to make phone calls still. Now we had thirty. It was on.

Z Trip has released a new mix to promote Obama. Z Trip does an amazing job splicing obama's speeches with music that is politically charged.

Get out there and vote, get your friends to vote, call your grandparents and get them out there for Obama even. Lets not settle for what has been fed to us for the past decade, lets get out there and make things brighter.
Clinton Meyer of Wells writes in the Albert Lea Tribune about one of the 24 stops on the Minnesota Heartland for Change Tour, which visited 24 communities across Minnesota last week, listening to folks across Greater Minnesota about the issues they're dealing with in their everyday lives.
Last week I heard a whole lot of stuff in St. Paul coming from John McCain, George Bush, and the same ol’ talking heads that back them in Washington. Didn’t hear much different or interesting, just the boilerplate Bush lingo I’ve heard for the eight years since I voted for Bush in 2000.That was quite the contrast to what I heard from the Barack Obama campaign when they actually came to Austin on Sept. 7 to (gasp!) listen to us and our concerns. It was well worth the trip from home to hear other people with the same concerns as mine. What a great idea, actually listening to what voters think, instead of listening to the Washington lobbyists who run McCain’s campaign. Obama’s campaign is going around the whole state on what they call the Heartland for Change Listening Tour. I got a chance to talk directly to the campaign at an economic round table at El Mariachi restaurant. We were one of the 24 stops they’re making around the state of Minnesota. This is exactly the kind of change that we need and that Sen. Barack Obama offers. Sure the campaign talked about Obama’s plans like tax cuts for 95 percent of families and investment in new American energy to create jobs. But they also told me things I hadn’t heard before. Like that Obama was raised by a single mother who was from a small town in Kansas, how her mom and dad helped to raise him, too. They weren’t too well off and had to go paycheck to paycheck. I can relate to someone, especially a president, who has actually had to live through what a lot of “regular” people are going through right now in this economy. Obama has lived it and it shows.I made a terrible mistake eight years ago and voted for Bush. Then he forgot what he promised and only listened to the lobbyists. Now it’s the same playbook, the same promises from the same people, lead by Bush’s chosen heir, Sen. McCain. I’m done with the same old stuff Bush and McCain have given us the last eight years. It’s time to turn things around with someone who gets it, and who listens to us and has a comprehensive plan, not just trash talk. That’s why I travelled from home to Austin. That’s why I’m going with Obama this election.Clinton MeyerWells

This video is dedicated to the movement that has taken place in this country. We couldn't have done it without Barack Obama and the millions of people who work for change everyday...
This year for the first time since the 1960’s many young people have become engaged in politics and now comes a new documentary film that compares today’s youth movement to the one of forty years ago.

Four years ago, I was sixteen and just getting into politics and the such. I had a very limited view and not too much exposure to much of anything outside of school, drugs, and comic books. Then I started watching the news. Not sit down with my grandmother and watch, but paying attention to the world at large. I had a surrogate family that I thought knew no wrong and basically, took them at thier word on everything. So when they said Kerry was evil in a way that we should not allow and only spoke out on being a "war hero", I assumed them to be telling me the truth.
Looking back, I've never felt so naive.
As the Bush campaign moved foward and the high school years crept by, we all started payign attention more. This is our world soon, we need to know what's going on, right? Friends started joining the military, people were starting thier college carreers and yet, everything still seemed to be getting worse. Why? "Why the hell is this happening still?", I asked myself. Then I decided to do some research.
It seems that when you're allowed to do your own research and make up your own mind, you generally come to the best conclusions. I looked back at the past twenty years of politics over a course of two weeks and what I found opened my eyes more than a Bible ever could. How the country grew more than it ever had during the Clinton administration, and how Bush Sr., Reagan, and pretty much every Republican all the way back to Nixon, had set the stage for Bush's antics. I met people from Europe, Australia, and even Canada who thought America was imploding, how we were the new international joke. The country I loved and pledged myself to, a joke in the eyes of the world? I asked myself how can we change it and who could spearhead this revolution? I prayed for 2008 to get here so I could do something about it. And finally, 2008 arrived.
By this time, I had pretty much ruled out a Republican candidate, seeing it as more of the same. Word of candidates came from everywhere, but when the dust settled, it was Hillary and Barack that stood above the others. When they came ot Austin, I heard them both. And loved them both. I figured whoever wins the candidacy, the Presidency would never be the same. And maybe that's what we needed. A change, something different to suit this new world. Something to show the doubters in the world and here at home that everybody in this country, be they Black, Hispanic, White, a woman, or anything else, has the chance to become what they want, and that this great country is not only run by rich, white men with connections in DC. I didnt attend the caucuses because I couldnt pledge myself to one or the other, but instead would vote as soon as possible to the official candidate.
Time went by and Obama eventually won. And last night, I heard possibly the most life-altering speech I've ever heard. More-so than the "I Have a Dream" speech, more than the script of Lincoln's Emancipation Proclimation. Maybe it's because I saw it live, maybe because it really was that good. Either way, after the Obama's speech last night, I believe we can finally find hope. Maybe the world can find hope in these times where we seem to be spiraling towards the Apocalypse.
In short, I want to thank Bush for opening my eyes at the sins he's committed. And I want to thank the Obama fmaily, the Biden family, and the Clinton family for giving my an epiphany on how this country should be run. With dedication to it's people. With hope and optimism. With sincerity, with a promise to bring us back to the country we once were, and to take back our country from people who are out of touch with reality and do not know how hard it is for struggling high-school grads who can barely make rent to try and get back into school so he can go make a change in this world. Most of all, I want to thank these families for not backing down in the face of the press and standing for what they believe is right. For trying to bring themselves out from where they began. Because when all is said and done, that is truly the American dream.

I'm an Obama delegate from Precinct 420 in Travis County. We had 28 Obama delegates and 10 Clinton delegates. The caucus was great. I'm looking forward to the County Convention. But after we all left, I realized that I don't know how to get in touch with any of the other Obama delegates from my precinct.
I was a Kucinich supporter in 2004, but ended up being a Kerry delegate to County and the State convention. But at the time, it was already decided for Kerry.
This time around, though, the County Conventions and State will be very important. it will be important who gets to be on the various committees: Nominations, Rules, etc.
I get the feeling that a lot of the old guard Democrats - i.e. a lot who are savvy about how the convention processes works - are Clinton supporters. Obama supporters will need to be crafty and wiley to make sure that we don't lose ground in the process.
I plan to go to the meeting in Austin at 2:00 pm at the headquarters on Congress. i haven't been much involved with the campaign to date - but I'm ready to jump in during this period before the County Convention, and I want to help make sure that the best Obama delegates make it to State and to National. I think we'll need the best and brightest in Denver.
