South Carolina Piedmont is ready for real change and ready to elect Barack Obama as president.

We just concluded a day walking for change in Greenwood, where Barack first heard the "Fired Up, Ready to Go" chant that he's sharing in speeches across the country.

Before heading out to knock on doors, each of us took a moment to share why we chose to get involved in this movement for change. Priscilla, one of our Greenwood volunteers, trusts Barack Obama to truly change the country.

Today I canvassed with Ms. Edith Childs, the woman from Greenwood who taught Barack the "Fired Up, Ready to Go" chant. Ms. Childs serves on the Greenwood County Council and knows virtually everyone in the county! She served as a valuable source of information, helping other teams find small streets in rural Greenwood County.

At the end of the day, our team returned to our Greenwood campaign office and shared our experiences from canvass.

As Ms. Childs reflected:

"I knew that folks out here in Greenwood were excited about Obama... but seeing people out here walking the roads, knocking on doors, and actually talking to them about him? Well, that's really firing them up."
