Every day in South Carolina volunteers are doing the hard work necessary to ensure the Palmetto State nominates Barack Obama for president on January 26.Today in our Columbia office dozens of volunteers made phonecalls and invited hundreds of other South Carolinians to the rally Barack is holding with Oprah Winfrey on December 9th.Many of the callers were members of an Obama Team in Northeast Columbia who were seeking to recruit other Barack supporters in the area.Pictured above are members of the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity from University of South Carolina. The Kappas participated in our Greek calling night, one of several theme-based calling nights the Midlands team holds each week.
So many volunteers stopped by to make calls tonight that staff members cleared room on the floor and offered their own cellphones so that dedicated volunteers like Pam Greenlaw (above) could make calls too.Surveying the scene during a brief break from the phones, Mrs. Greenlaw captured the scene just right:
"Seeing all these people here, young and old, getting involved and enthusiastic about Barack... It's just inspiring."
