If we were to vote today, 1 in 5 Republicans would actually vote for Senator Obama.
I am running for President because I believe in the American people...I am reminded every day of my life, if not by events, then by my wife, that I am not a perfect man. But I can promise you this, I will always tell you what I think, I will always tell you where I stand, I'll be honest with you about the challenges we face...I will listen to you even when we disagree...And most importantly I will wake up every day thinking about how I can make your lives a little bit better.
My father was Kenyan, I've got family in Kenya right now, and I lived in Southeast Asia for four years when I was growing up. A lot of my knowledge about foreign affairs isn't just what I studied in school or the work that I do on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, it's about understanding how ordinary people in the countries live...Foreign policy's all about judgment. It's all about understanding what the world looks like from the outside, and that's something that I have a lifetime of experience learning.
