We've got a lot more coming on this, but for now, check out these articles about a couple of the dinner guests.

From the Chicago Tribune:

Margaret Thomas-Jordan is in town for her first tour of the nation’s capital on Tuesday, but her mind is many miles away.

Her husband is somewhere en route home from his tour in Iraq, making an unexpectedly early return from the war so that he can be trained for a new job stateside. Her two young sons are back in Louisiana still thinking their father is away for the year.

Despite all that is going on in her family life, Thomas-Jordan decided to make the trip to DC anyway. She’s scheduled to have dinner tonight with Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois, the Democrat she supports for president.

From USA Today:

Christina Cheatham, a senior at Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, gave Obama $5 as part of an Internet contest. His campaign staged the contest to raise last-minute cash before the second quarter ended June 30.

Her donation, along with an essay, landed her a spot at Tuesday night's dinner. Cheatham, 21, voted for President Bush in 2004 but said she's backing Obama because she views him as a different breed of politician.

"I wanted a leader who's optimistic," she said.
