"If we spend all our time feeding the American people fear and conflict and division, then they become fearful and conflicted and divided. And if we feed them hope and we feed them reason and tolerance, then they will become tolerant and reasonable and hopeful."

In Peterborough earlier in the day, Barack addressed over a thousand Granite Staters outside the home of David Baume and Terry Reaves, affirming for the crowd that one voice can make all the difference. And just a few days before, General Merrill "Tony" McPeak -- a former Air Force Chief of Staff who has served under nine commanders in chief -- stepped up at house parties in Intervale and Gorham, NH, to endorse Barack Obama as the candidate who has the power to inspire both at home and abroad. General McPeak also traveled to Iowa, meeting with veterans and other Iowans to discuss the war in Iraq and better benefits for veterans. Click here to watch a video of General McPeak. It was homecoming week in Iowa, and our BarackStars (high school volunteers) were out in full force, signing up new students and getting the word out. In other big Iowa news: former Iowa Democratic Party Chair, Gordon Fischer cross-posted from his own blog to announce that Barack Obama is the clear candidate for America, meeting Fischer's own goals of positivity, addressing the negative influence of Big Money in politics, and showing "ordinary" people how they can accomplish the extraordinary through politics.
As he wrote:
Clearly, the candidate with the greatest ability to achieve all these goals is Barack Obama."

On Saturday, under cloudless skies, volunteers met up at 31 different sites in 26 different counties (including Greenwood, Columbia and Orangeburg) for South Carolina's second Walk For Change. These canvassers took to the streets and knocked on hundreds of doors, building awareness and bringing new people into the movement. And if you're wondering where "Fired up! Ready to Go!" comes from, meet Ms. Edith Childs, the originator who taught Barack the chant herself:
Ms. Childs canvassed out with the rest in Greenwood, South Carolina. Over in Northern Nevada, Tom Daschle came to speak again about his support for Barack Obama as the candidate of hope and real change, highlighting Obama's sound judgment and inspirational qualities.
Nevada was also featured in the LATimes, which cited the campaign's stellar accomplishments in volunteer training. And last but not least, the very first University chapter in Nevada of Students for Barack Obama was founded last week, at the University of Nevada in Reno:
