I recently sat down with Steve Sampson, a volunteer with the Barack Obama campaign here in Nevada and an advocate for Disabled Persons. Steve is also known for his acute knowledge of the Las Vegas political scene. I've spoken with Steve numerous times and he exudes a passion for politics that helped him become a delegate to the Democratic National Convention in 2000 and 2004. At a town hall meeting that was held at Rancho High School in Las Vegas, he was given the chance to ask Barack why a disabled person should support Barack.
Check out why Steve is supporting Barack below:
Here's what Barack Obama had to say on the International Day of Disabled Persons:
I stand with the roughly six hundred million people around the world, including fifty-four million Americans, who experience some form of disability. I share their vision of an inclusive and just world that is free of unnecessary barriers, stereotypes, and discrimination. Policies must be developed, attitudes must be shaped, and buildings and organizations must be designed to ensure that everyone has a chance to get the education they need, fulfill their potential, and live independently as full citizens in their communities. And every nation has a special responsibility to look after those who can't live on their own - because every human being deserves to live with dignity and respect.

Barack was also the first presidential candidate from either party to submit his answers to the American Association of People with Disabilities questionnaire.
