One Voice…
On finding:
“My Voice” ;A message to Senator Hillary Clinton
Dear Senator Clinton,
Congradulations, on your success in New Hampshire.
More importantly congradulations on finding, ‘Your Voice’. I sincerely understand how that can impact your life for Change, it happened to me and I liked to share it with you.
Yesterday,
Tuesday, January 8, 2008, was a very significant day in my life, it was my 49th birthday.
My family and friends got together and gave me a surprise party!
The theme for the party Obama’08 is my reason for this letter!
I am a volunteer for Barack Obama for President, ’08.
I have been since December of last year and my dedication to this cause is growing and evolving me into truly an American.
I was born and raised on U.S. soil, in
South, and spent most of my adult life on the west coast.
but I have never considered myself a citizen of this country more than now.
Yes, I’ve always identified myself in my travels abroad as an American, and raised my children to know that we are Americans, we participate in every aspect of everyday life as Americans, but not until now, have I ever felt the burden of citizenship. The responsibility to be an active participant in contributing to the re-making, re-newing, re-establishing, the values of my country, our country!
Remember those values that we have all studied in high school, we all memorized them on some level just to pass the grades, but have I never became an active participant of those values? I’ve never worked with the echoes of the founding father’s voices in my mind until now.
This inspiration was initiated by One Voice, that of the Senator from Illinois and until now I have heard no other political official invite me to remember, embrace and move towards those early American ideals.
So, in essence one voice has made a difference, and I am dedicated to making sure that my family, friends, new acquaintances, and those I greet in passing everyday until this process for the Democratic nomination for the Presidency is won, and Our Candidate, Our Voice, has won, the voice of Barack Obama, who is the One Voice that will continue to cause Change.” Change that we can believe in.”
In closing I encourage you to continue on your quest,I am sure that if you listen carefully, the Voice of
Reason that calls the American citizens to stand up and become active participants in the decisions that effect all of our lives; will be the voice of choice even for You.
Sincerely,
49er
An American Citizen
