Greetings from the Obama for America, Nevada New Media Team-
My name is Zach Edwards and I am the co-director for New Media at Obama for America in Nevada. I wanted to extend my hand and invite you to participate in our New Media out-reach program that is going to ensure that Nevada will be a hub for Barack to extend his support through the West after the Nevada caucus on January 19th, 2008.
In order to ensure that Barack wins the Nevada caucus and has the momentum to sweep California, Arizona, Utah, and Idaho, we must build an online organization that works to support field operations. MyBO.com, Myspace, Facebook, and other various social networking sites are great for networking and meeting groups of local supporters, but we must also turn this into a brick and mortar operation. We must use our online tools to organize actual democratic participation.
Here is what we have so far: Any suggestions are GREATLY appreciated.
The Border State Program:
The Nevada New Media team is assisting a Border State program with our Director Krish Subrahmanian. This weekend more than 50 people came from Los Angeles to join our Border state program.
1) You will get VAN, phone banking, and pledge card chase training for your team from one of the amazing members of the Las Vegas team.
2) You will learn skills and practices that work. You will also see what a well-structured campaign office can be. We want you to take these skills and structures and replicate them in your Congressional Districts.
3) You will make relationships with a field staff that is a great resource as you get deeper into your CD organizing.
4) You will have a great time!
