Several dozen supporters met up with Senator John Kerry this morning to kick off a canvass of North Las Vegas neighborhoods as we prepare for the caucus tomorrow at 11 AM. Senator Kerry fired everyone up as he talked about his reasons for coming out to Nevada, and his decision to endorse Barack. You can see the respect that Las Vegas residents -- including several local veterans who showed up -- have for Senator Kerry It’s quite powerful, the younger supporters are staring admirably as the veterans talked with Senator Kerry—it’s a real testament to his leadership abilities.
There is a shared sense of urgency among our supporters and Senator Kerry—as if everyone realizes that moments like this only come along once in a generation. This group of canvassers is a perfect reflection of our campaign—there are young people, old people, retired people, businessmen, mothers, Republicans, Democrats, Independents, and yet—they all have the same determined look in their eyes. This is the moment, and the movement that can change this country and it’s clear that people here in Las Vegas sense this unique opportunity.
Our supporters are starting to get really excited down here and seem more than ready to stand up and work hard these lat important hours. People are brining sack lunches out into their precincts so they can get in as much face to face contact time today with their neighbors. The phone lines were packed—even as Senator Kerry gave his appeal to the canvassers.
Things are heating up in Las Vegas and it’s time to get involved. Find your caucus location, find your local office, and make sure your friends, family, and neighbors know about the caucus tomorrow morning at 11 AM. Stand up with our grassroots and join this movement—it’s our moment to change the world.
