When the lame ducks in the White House and the Congress limp off the stage in Washington, DC, we will see if the new players are going to support the agenda of the Obama administration. If they do, we will recover in the next year or two. If they do not, we will have to clean House, and the Senate too, come November 2010. We should have a good indication of the Congress's willingness to cooperate by late January or early February.

I think that a real test for the Congress is in what measure it will cooperate or if all senators go their own way. The best of the whole must come before any personal ambition of each senator.
