A Mandate for them.......not for change
What if I told you that we have government funded healthcare/insurance for some key Americans who love and even utilize such a benefit, but don’t want you to have it? Would you be shocked? Would you be confused? Would you respond by asking me if I was talking about Medicare? No, though Medicare is a successful form of government funded and run care-coverage, I’m not talking about it. I’m not even talking about Vet Care….I’m talking about a health plan/benefit plan that’s complete with great coverage, coverage that covers all Federal workers, including US Senators, members of the House, etc. It’s a plan that even includes pensions and other benefits. ....Thus, I’ve never heard Mitch McConnell or the so called “Blue Dog” Democrats, or the usual talking head RNC mouthpieces in the Congress ever, ever, turn to the camera and say, “I will pay back what I took in health benefits...to the American people, turn down future benefits because it’s a publically run, government created, socialized system…..”
It seems that the government run healthcare system or “benefits system,” which includes a generous pension plan and the ability to sponsor spouses, children, etc, is “A-OK” with the Republicans…. All we hear from them is, “No, no, no.” When it comes to cost, they refuse to cite numbers, or buckle down and make choices about fair taxes, but just wave their hands on “news” networks like “Fox” and complain that a US Health Plan would be “too costly.”
How much does the current public plan for all Federal employees cost? Shouldn’t we be taking a look at that? It seems that a Republican can have a form of “public” care for him and his kids, but not for you and I. See, when we ask for a bailout, the Republicans call it Welfare and demand “Reform” with stern faces. It becomes a dirty word.....
When they personally need a bailout, its called a campaign contribution or the help of a “friend” or a nudge in a men’s restroom. When there are calls to fund schools, Universities or parks or calls to fund environmental cleanup, the Party of No, says its tax payer waste. However, when defense firms wish to charge more for services, that’s ok, its about killing the terrorists....unless those terrorists bomb abortion clinics......
When you need to file for bankruptcy, they change the laws to make it harder and when a giant company wants a handout, well, they are too big to fail. When you want to make choices about your body and who you’re with, they stand on some supposed moral claim, but when its their turn, they fly to Argentina….on your dime….
.Oh wait, aren’t they the party that’s supposedly yelling about costs and waste? Waste as in, coverage for you, your employees, your kids….What about prostitute girlfriends or foreign lovers? Are they covered? I really agree that a private insurance firm be allowed to cover Vice President's with artificial hearts (what’ the premium there?), drug addict Radio Talk Show hosts and Republican whores.....No, I'm not talking about the people on "K" street, I'm talking about the people literally on "K" street who visit RNC HQ.....(I have to highlight the hypocrisy to make my point, because we are so accustomed to business as usual)
So, its no surprise to people like me, people who see the Republicans for what they are, when they cry foul over a Public Health Plan. Its no surprise that they refuse to include, in their Red State sound bites, that a Public Plan would mean an elbowing out of private insurance in the market, even though Obama wants to up competition, by giving people choices between the two, hence keeping costs in check.
So, when a Republican begins to attack the vast majority of Americans who can’t afford, can’t see themselves affording or don’t have, health care, take a step back and ask yourself if there isn’t some hypocrisy in the air. If these so called patriots were truly Red White and Blue as they pretend, they wouldn’t want to have it both ways, where you and I get to suffer through a horrible health insurance crisis and they get great care and a great benefit plan, not to mention the fact that they rarely read the bills they vote on….
So…..lets give every Republican until the end of the month of July to either work to critique and help MOLD a comprehensive health care plan, or, they write to their leadership, with a check in hand for past benefit amounts and denial of future benefits…Wait….what am I talking about? That assumes that Republicans are afraid of accountability…..ie….elections in districts….They aren't...
Theyy said there were WMDs in Iraq, the Mission was Accomplished, the Economy would be fine, Obama wasn’t born in America and that they would hunt down Bin Laden……….And people keep voting for them. (Should that be a statement or a question or a call to organize?)
Its time to organize…like we did in 2008…March to DC, Log on and join up and follow OFA’s Health Care grassroots effort…….we need to get the word out……The health of this economy and country can be revitalized, but it starts with ensuring each American’s health…
