The New York Times reported today that the White House is quietly conceding that they are losing control of the Health Care Reform debate. So......in response......? A march? Rapid Fire TV ads? Formal debates moderated by NPR, PBS, ABC, NBC? Nope....a website.........That's it....a website..
The WH released a myth busters website.......What Obama should do is concede he needs a little help from his friends.....Bill Clinton, Al Gore, Howard Dean, Mike Bloomberg, Warren Buffet and other Business Leaders and even the Kennedys to get the word out and deal with the fires.
Bill Clinton in the Southern States/Key Battlegrounds, Al Gore in the North West/East, Howard Dean on the West Coast, Bloomberg and Buffet in the Business circut and Obama showing up as the main headline to each, criss crossing and hosting a Q/A session from people all over America, us sending emails, youtube clips, etc....A Virtual Town Hall: Pick a network, pick the day and that would be the capstone with Obama answering a question....No, not like the ABC News one...More like the CNN AC 360 RNC/DNC Virtual Town Hall debates....But the President would get the floor.....MSNBC? Are you seeing this?
Leaving each Senator and House member to fend for themselves is not smart...They don't have the star power or experience.....Those town halls should be the last step.....I'll work for free in the WH, give me a laptop, some paper and two people to manage and I can make this happen..... Why have we been seeing the same tactics by the WH for weeks?

What the NYT article does not mention is that the WH began losing the debate 1 week into it, when Obama announced plans to revamp the nation's troubled "profits before patients" system's overhaul....By relying heavily on supposed cries for bipartisan mumbo jumbo, the Dems have allowed a vacuum to develop....While the Dems and WH tried to engage in courtship, the RNC was dancing to its own tune.....Even if it won't be or wouldn't be his waterloo, they were set on creating the conditions to make it so..The Dems got cocky....You never ignore a Republican...ever...they will break every rule, play dirty..and they are...Just because we may be the party in power, doesn't mean they don't have sway...This country is becoming liberal...but a full liberal makeover will take at least 10 more years (demographics)...So in the interim, we have to protect our electoral turf, in order to have net gains, not break evens or losses.
What has been the WH's response? Timid Town Halls, an ABC NEWS Town Hall, a Press Conf that restated the facts and so much overexposure that the only people marching and shouting are not saying YES WE CAN, its the Right Wingers who will say/do anything....These are the same, usually elderly people (who knows if they vote), who will find any reason to attack a President of Color...
But, where are the rest of us? What about those of us who donated, volunteered, worked and mobilized? It seems that though MOST Americans agree there is a need for reform, their voice is silent and the polls cast aside, in the media, in favor of geriatric phony anger theater. The polls favor Obama....but.....the right wing...subsection: elderly...subsection: nut job. subsection: I'm on retirement and I'm lonely, so let me go shout group has taken over the debate....Add some tea bagging (pun intended) and you have a Glenn Beck wet dream...
(I guess Medicare keeps these people healthy, they are energetic rebel rowsers...Oh wait, can't touch their medicare.....)
Listen Dems/Indys and those supporting any semblance of reform: You can't twitter or blog or sit back and just WATCH the Dems try to handle this....You have to organize....again...take charge.....be creative......Virtual clicks mean nothing without boots on the ground...that's how we turned states blue......those states need to be kept blue.....
If we don't act now.....re election is going to be tough.......Let's make it the RNC waterloo...even though that was apparently 2008.....but we fell asleep after Jan 09..
Well, I'm taking my own advice: off to a march for Health Care and getting our view on my local network.....Please find an event in your area: under events/volunteer on this site...
Oh and WH/Obama: Throw the current method of handling the PR nightmare in the trash. Start over...employ help....get business on your side....Run ads....
