Jimmy Carter, a Great president by the way, raised energy taxes during the oil crisis in the 70's. It obviously helped, because the economy turned around, and the dollar started rising again in value. So when McCain was comparing Obama's policy to Carter's today he was being disingenuous. The problem is that Democrats have failed to defend Carter's record, and now it is turning around to bite us.
Jimmy Carter was a God Damn Good President, darn it. Reagan on the other hand was a first rate disaster. Anybody who tells you otherwise is either misinformed or disingenuous.
