Had a talent for making great speeches

One term in the US Senate (he also ran for Senator and lost the first time)
Was a lawyer and community organizer
Spent 7 years in the Illinois Senate
Also has a talent for making great speeches
Was also known to talk against a war when it was unpopular...(Operation: Iraqi Freedom)

If you're wondering what makes a good president nowadays, just remember the greatest presidents of the past and try and find their qualities in a candidate from today.

Lincoln surrounded himself with people that disagreed with him, as does Obama. And as you can see, the similarities do not end there...
