Is Barack that scary?

Could you please explain to me why some white people are so scared of Barack? As we all know his mom was white and was brought up by white people.

Watch one of his speeches at YouTube.com and you will see why he is so popular, i.e. not so fearful. There are white people who are scared of Hillary. The reason why people get scared is because of the political process.

When trying to gain a votes, it is a Machiavellian ideal to instill fear in the voter and then offer yourself as the savior. The fear can be of anything, a political opponent, another population, country, culture, whatever.

Because contemporary American politics tends to have a Machiavellian bent, it is natural to expect the population that wants you to 'tell them how to think' to bear whatever fear you instill in them, and having done so vote for you to save them from it.

This is happening with negative media targeted at these populations. An example where Obama is affected is the Reverend Wright controversy. To gain a clearer perspective watch the interview Reverend Wright had with Bill Moyers at Link

Obama in himself instills no fear. When you listen to him you feel hope instead.

more than anything else. It isn't fear along racial divide so much. Obama represents change. The Clintons are a style of Democrat unlike Barack. There are two what-I-would-call styles of Democrats. There are those who ask us as an electorate to learn and be informed. They ask us to do the "footwork" of actually learning about the larger world around us, about the people in public life. Jimmy Carter and John F. Kennedy fell into this "style" of Democrat. It didn't work out to well for either of them. But, what makes Barack like them is that he is not afraid to ask us to sacrifice, or at least change our lifestyle a little bit. "Ask not, what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country..." Barack knows that he can't change America without grassroots support among the populace, even after he gets in the White House. We all have to change our lifestyles. This does not mean our standards of living have to go down...but we do have to be more intelligent as pertains to our use of resources, ie. alternative energy and recycling. The Clintons have always ran, and governed, more on the idea that they will fix the problems of Americans magically without those Americans doing the "footwork". The Clintons' way just won't work; we are well beyond the days when we could endlessly waste resources and remain an uninformed electorate and let some paternalistic, aristocratic family solve all our problems. We tried the Clintons' way in the '90s and we are still unprepared for peak oil, climate change, that little organization from Afghanistan, or any of the other serious threats we face. What I am trying to say in this long-winded post is that people are not afraid of Obama because he is a black man. They are afraid of him because he expects us all to take some, though not all, amount of responsibility for our own selves. Barack is interested in telling the truth...that truth is that the government is responsible to give those who need it a "hand up", not a "hand out". And when I say that, I mean it in far more than economic terms. I mean it in terms of our own security. And we are only secure if we do our best to stay informed.

I am personally afraid of an Obama Presidency because he is a socialist bordering on a communist. Other than that, he is, ummm, wait a minute...oh yeah,

"I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy," Biden said. "I mean, that's a storybook, man."

Yeah, that's it.

Maybe I am scared 'cause he won't let me cling to my guns or my religion anymore, or it could very well be that I am like his grandmother, ya know, a typical white person.

Please stop insinuating that people who are against Senator Obama are racist, we do not want an avowed socialist to be President of this great nation, color means nothing, and the only people who bring up color are the Senator Obama supporters or the Senator himself.
