Here's some reasons why i support Barack Obama:
I believe that the Republicans have 'economically' had their hearts in the right place, but have also been clouded in their judgement by becoming so distracted in stupid things that limit the freedoms people in America share.
For example: they are so anti-gay, anti-choice, anti-stem-cell, anti-science, anti-everything... that they are destroying this counties greatness - one person at a time. (For me, they made me feel unwelcome in my home state, encouraged me to leave after college by not guaranteeing my right to hold a job and have ultimately resulted in me taking my degree and moving overseas, starting a company in the UK and employing Brits, rather than fellow Detroit-ers)
I believe that whilst it's easy to SEE change when a Black candidate wins, REAL change comes from taking a stand against stupid things that divide people. I believe Barack knows this, and will ROCK the world with meaningful changes that will make such a big difference to so many people (like me) who feel like they are not welcome in the Republican "family"
I understand the LIES that have surrounded politics in my lifetime, and am not interested in any more of that garbage. (For example: When Reagan broke up the unions in the 80's, women HAD to go to work - so the Republican spin was... "those damn gays are ruining your family" - when the reality is/was it had nothing to do with gays and more to do with BOTH parents having work and be away from their kids for longer periods of time.)
I believe in the Democrats and I do not believe in anything that the Republicans say.
Anyone remember ENRON, WORLDCOM and all the promises about 'cleaning up corporate corruption' that were quickly forgotten after Bush changed the subject by fabricating BS about how Iraq was supposed to be so mixed into Al-queda. 8 years later, after running the country future into record debt, they have the nerve to ask for more - for who - the banks... and NO ONE else. F*ck sakes it's criminal.
