Senator Obama came to national prominence with a speech promising to transcend the polarizing red state / blue state divisions of the Bush era. Now that he is the nominee, the media and pundits have already shifted to precisely this focus on swing states, leaving most of us out of the picture. My question is, how can Obama supporters pursue a 50 state strategy that -- and this is key -- isn't simply middle of the road in its politics, but that genuinely reflects a progressive vision for America?
