by Bill Fletcher, Jr.: “Critical support” means walking on two legs, both offering genuine support, as well as offering sincere and constructive criticism where there are disagreements. Rev. Wright apparently decided that now was a time for lashing out in hurt and anger, rather than recognizing that the sweetest “revenge” is success. For those of us to the Left of Senator Obama, success is more than the election of Senator Obama as president of the USA. It is really about the building of a social movement that embraces much of the counter-narrative Rev. Wright attempted to articulate. With that counter-narrative, we have the basis for a left/progressive strategy. Without that counter-narrative, we are simply wandering in the wilderness, hoping for change."

Rev Wright should know this better than anyone else. His failure to demonstrate what we think he knows from a pulpit perspective is suspect to the real motive. He's had the play ground all this while and would still have it as long as he lives, but his timing and repeat performance does speak a volume to say the least. As an elder in the African community.. he is wrong and time would reveal the true story behind his action. Time never fails.
