Well, I helped to prepare a campaign official "watch the election party". Then I wanted to come back home to take my laptop (there was a blogging center there) or to stay home, depending on the atmosphere on the blog.
I couldn't leave the party place. There were always new people who didn't register to attend who came to ask questions. At 3 am, people were queuing, hoping to enter.
I stayed at home. A spoke on the phone with a friend of mine who created a profile just before election day. She went to bed at 3 am, put her cell phone under her pillow and told me to phone when the result will be sure if it will be Obama. She did want to wake up her boyfriend who had to go to office (she don't work, and I took a day off). I wake her up at 4:45 am, telling her that it was Barack and that he would be speaking in a few minutes.
She is black, from the French Antilles, and suddenly became very emotional.
It was not time anymore for me to go to the party, which was planned to end at 6 am, because I in no way wanted to miss Barack speach live. In plus, when they show it back now, they cut the end, when both familly are huggings on the stage. I love the hugs at 4 people, with President Elect, First Lady, Vice-President Elect and Vice-First Lady.
I went to bed at 9:30 am Wenesday morning and woke up at 7:30 pm... Went to bed when it was day, wake up and took my victory breakfast when it was night !
My friend told me she tried to buy a newspaper with Barack's photo on the front page, but that she had to go to several shops to find one because at the end of the morning all the shops had been devastated.
Today, all the newspapers still had big pics of Barack on the front page.
I saw one of the title which was that 72 % of the French were happy for Obama. Don't know were they find this number. Seems weak to me...
I went to the drugstore after office, and my pharmacist, who knew I was blogging here nights and days congrats me warmly. He was very happy too.

And from Sweden. :) Both our Prime Minister and the leader of the opposition rooted for Obama, I believe (even if the PM had to state he could work with both candidates).
3 channels covered the election all night long here. They flew people to USA to have them report live from the States...Our leading papers have been blogging the entire election.
And people are thrilled with the outcome.

I don't think they have a place to post on the new website, it looks like parts are still under construction. That being said, I love the look of the new website-and is this the first transitional website for a President?
It's going to be madness here around election day, my family is coming into town to witness this historic event and almost everyone I know has relatives/friends camping out at their houses for Jan.20th. i'm getting a spot along the route early!
Have you heard the new smear against Obama. Apparently the Dow tanking again is directly related to him winning the election. Disregarding the fact that more people claimed unemployment in October and that retail sales are sluggish. Forget about GWB driving this nation into debt. Nope. Its all Obama's fault!
There was one lady at work today who said she's going to give the same respect to Obama as Dems gave to Bush..none and how she can't wait until the "Messiah" falls on his face. Lovely..Can't they at least wait until he takes office? And don't get me started about the awful things the right is saying about Michelle.
I prefer to stay in the happy Obamanation. And a special shout out to NC. More retirees from the DC area are moving to NC because of the cheaper living and I think that's partly responsible. Amazing to see parts of the South go blue:)

Obama plans December trip to Hawaii
By LIZ SIDOTI and NEDRA PICKLER
Associated Press Writers
Obama planned to stay home through the weekend, with a blackout on news announcements so that he and his staff can get some rest after a grueling campaign and the rush of their win Tuesday night. Obama began Thursday as he usually does, with a workout. Later, he planned to visit with the transition team he officially announced Wednesday but had been under way for weeks. Officials had kept deliberations under wraps to avoid the appearance of overconfidence in the weeks leading to Tuesday's election.
He also spent time at the FBI office in Chicago, a secure location for him to receive his first president's daily brief. The document is mostly written by the Central Intelligence Agency and includes the most critical overnight intelligence. It is accompanied by a briefing from top intelligence officials that typically lasts 45 minutes to an hour, although Obama's first is expected to be longer.
The president-elect planned his first public appearances since his victory for Friday.
Aides said he will meet with economic advisers to discuss the nation's financial woes — Americans listed the economy as their top concern on Election Day — and then talk to the news media. Aides also said that Obama and his wife, Michelle, will visit the White House on Monday at President Bush's invitation.
"Michelle and I look forward to meeting with President Bush and the first lady on Monday to begin the process of a smooth, effective transition," Obama said in a statement. "I thank him for reaching out in the spirit of bipartisanship that will be required to meet the many challenges we face as a nation."
Obama advisers said he was selecting the leaders of the new government with a sense of care over speed, with no plans to announce Cabinet positions this week.
Democratic officials today said Obama's fellow Chicagoan Rahm Emanuel, the hard-charging No. 3 Democrat in the House, has accepted the job of White House chief of staff, Democratic officials said Thursday.
One of Obama's first decisions as president-elect was to ask the Illinois congressman to run his White House staff. The selection of the fiery Democrat marked a shift in tone for Obama, who chose more low-key leadership for his presidential campaign.
