written in jan 08, I thought I'd repost this
Sprint Runner at the Finish Line
obama's team are magicians
their goal is to really listen
and the people then will listen back
at the very last moment he attacks
he's done this every time
he's a sprint runner at the finish line
whenever his numbers start out low
it fuels the fire for his team to go
there's no quitting here
no matter what the media puts in our ear
emerge from our comfort zone
get involved so this election we can own
I think I can I think I can
elect this great obama man
I'll talk to a few more people today
it's just my great emotion I'm giving away
imagine what great role models you are
when people are undecided your view goes far
in helping a friend decide
their secret vote that they will hide
people don't always tell
but you know when the numbers turn out well
that your efforts made the change
that helped the voters to rearrange
I know we can I know we can
elect this great obama man
THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!!

Mr. President Elect
The President's bully pulpit needs to be utilized as a place to talk tough to kids, particularly inner-city kids and their parents, about personal responsibility. We all know the horrendous situation of young African American males who don't graduate high school, who father multiple children, who use and sell drugs and who now account for over half of the two million people in prison in our country, (by far the highest prison population in the world, both in total and percentage). A generation has already been lost, something has to change and only an outside influence like a young Black president has the potential to make a difference.
You ae not a miracle worker, the Democratic Party is not made up solely of intelligent, compassionate, selfless people. You and they have been elected to office over the last two election cycles to do a job that (Electoral College aside) still only a relatively small majority of America believes you are capable of doing. You both need to get about fulfilling you promises without trampling the other side and, in particular, you need to successfully reach out to Republicans, attempts at conciliation without success won’t do.
Our problems are myriad and if there ever was a time for one party rule it's now....but I'll be the first guy screaming if any of the three branches decides that partisanship trumps progress…..that the risk of getting it all right away is worth the chance of getting nothing but political talking points.

thank all of you -
Go out and vote, those of you who still can and haven't yet. Yes, we've got it - but let's make it so big NO ONE can doubt that this was:
MILLIONS OF VOICES CALLING FOR CHANGE!
Please help to make it a true landslide, a vast chorus of voices, calling for change.
and when I say thank you:
I'm thinking of your voices, too, all of you overseas, all around the world, and thanking you for your respect, and friendship, good wishes and support ... all of our voices are the

I had projected Senator Obama would lose Ohio by 1 or 2 percent. The fact he is projected to win Ohio means this is not a close election... it is a landslide. The United States of America is ready for change... big change. Now we should start looking forward to each of us, individually, helping that change to happen. Barack said this election was about us. It is. Now that we know our candidate has effectively won, we need to start thinking about our obligation. We have committed to a campaign that called for personal responsibility to help effect change. Our vote is a great start, but what is our next step? What must each of us do to make the Hope our next president speaks of become a reality? We have won the election, but now we must take the next step... fulfill the promise that is not a red or blue America, but the United States of America! Congratulations to our candidate and a historic figure (which I believe includes his future accomplishments)!!! Welcome Michelle... our First Lady! (Get used to it ;P)
PA AND OH for Barack... incredible! Major happiness here. :)

Today I voted
Today was a day of history in the making
Today is the day, there shall be no more taking
Of my rights and privileges
I made a statement beautiful and bold
Today couldn't have been more perfect
Even the weather just right, not cold.
We chose right, others chose wrong
Only in my eyes because I thought very long
Of the candidates that were given
It wasn't a black or white thing to me
It was about health, education and oil
Also how to keep the middle class financially free.
My children went with me
Inside the voting booth, we walked in liberty,
The sacrifices of our forefathers have paved the way for us
My children were quite amazed; someday they"ll share with their own kids
How we voted for the first black president
I pray that a lot of people did.
Cause change is what we need
And this man God has in His hands indeed
To lead this nation and restore it back to order
Today I voted, for whom I feel will help this nation
Whose politics are right side up not upside down
Like the former administration.
Today I voted! Did you?

I'm Italian but if I were American I'd vote for Obama...I'm crazy for this election!! I'm following on CNN, FOX news...and italian television gives in real time the results... At first someone said that McCain had won in Ohio...and someone explanes that there is a kind of "rule" that says: who wins in Ohio, became the President... I was disappointed of that results...but now I'm very happy and hope that rule became a truth!!
Tiziana for Obama!!!!

Even tho I live in a very red state at least my city was blue. And I kept my computer print out from when I signed it to at the poll to be a keepsake and reminder that I voted for Barack on what is the most important election in my life.

You're ridiculous. His middle name doesn't matter at all. Even if his middle name was Hitler, I wouldn't care.
Why? Because it was decided for him, he didn't pick it. And there's nothing inherently wrong with the name Hussein anyways. It means beautiful.
Your approach, and the entire approach of everybody who objects to the name of Hussein and somehow thinks that's a reason not to vote for somebody, is racist. Plain and simply racist and xenophobic.

John McCain ran a horrible, despicable campaign, one like that which was used against him in 2000. He lost his Maverick status and completely caved in to republican ideology. I'm not even going to touch on Palin.
He deserved to lose for these reasons.
It's not completely sealed yet, but I'm fairly confident he will be President-Elect.

What a long strange trip it has been...
I signed on the day Barack announced. I made hundreds of calls into IA for the primary and continued to call throughout the never ending primary until we came out with a victory.
I was a precinct coordinator for the caucus in MN, prior having no clue what a caucus even was! I took a few weeks to rest after the primaries FINALLY came to an end to prepare for the general.
I started calling and calling and helping to organize Minneapolis. I know my story has been repeated millions of times through out this country, all of you seeing the same possiblity of where our country could go with Barack in the lead.
Thanks and my deepest respect to Barack, Michelle, Axelrod, Plouffe, and one of my long time favs "smokin joe" Biden etc. But my deepest respect goes to all of you...who along with me heard Barack's call to change and helped to make it happen.
We did IT!!! Take a day or two-relax, celebrate, give yourself a pat on the back...and then back to work. This country is a mess and Barack and Joe need all of us to stay committed to change the direction of this country.
Love all of you!! Congrats!!

America do it!
I can not believe it! I am calling this for OBAMA!
I have spent the night flipping channels without fear that Sen. Obama will fail to become President Obama. I even feel deezy comprehending the achievement. I have come to know the man as if he is my brother, Michelle as my own sister(My real sis' died of AIDS). I am aware he will shield it as not his own chartering but the entire USA. Albeit that; I SAY: " Thanks to 'toot', I only wich she was here to see this outpour of love and the endorsement of the "New USA"!!!!!!!
The NEW USA (NUSA) cries for the new way of doing the business of politics. It rejects vehemently the notion of devisive politics.
I was inspired by the voting scene that saw world-wid the Obama family voting moment! I was watching and called my girls to see that 'cool' momrnt in history. That is NUSA right there!
Whatever happens from this moment, this in where the world is ONE WITH AMERICA, THE NEW AMERICA!!!

I'm sitting here at home, alone. We won the state of Ohio!!! I saw the next president of this country in downtown Cleveland just 2 days ago. I stood for 4 hrs across the street from him with tens of thousands of supporters, the most polite and peaceful group of people. I am a white girl from the 50's and I never thought I would see this day. I am proud to have helped in my small way to elect a man that I believe can unite us and lead this nation to a better future for us all. You rock Barack! congratulations......

I shook his hand on October 17, 2008 (2 weeks ago) and will never, ever ever forget that day or the words exchanged. My son was with me (11) and he will never forget it either. This has been an incredible time for this mother/son duo. I want to thank Barack for giving me ability to show my child that America is the best land in the entire world. This has just been a journey of the best kind. I love President Barack Obama.

I did not vote for barack and I am disappointed. My husband and I both have good jobs but we always fall into the crack when it comes to tax rebates, finanacial aide for our triplets that are freshmans in college this year and just about any other break that comes along. We somehow get left out. We both work very hard and have raised 5 beautiful children and hope that our new president hears our voice and helps out the ones of us in the middle that always get left out.
WE'LL SEE.

I live in Cleveland, Ohio...I have been up all night. This is one of the most blessed days to be an American. President Obama you have inspired everyone. My son who is 22 years old said it plainly I can soar! While standing in line for over 3 hours to vote Sunday, I heard many young people mimic that they have got to do better. We have put on our boots and we will get in the trenches to work! We are finally united as one! Jay-Z and Lebron thank you for coming to Cleveland and Uniting our Young People, it will never be forgotten! God Bless our New President Obama! YES WE CAN and YES WE DID!

I never comment on blogs... BUT something I heard last night on MSNBC's election coverage has been nagging me all night. In an interview, Tom (the Hammer)DeLay raised the "fear" that the Obama,Pelosi, Reid trilogy would wreak havoc on the American economy in short order! WHERE HAS HE BEEN?! Maybe Woody Allen should think about a remake of "Sleeper" staring "The Hammer"

What a beautiful moment to hear and see CNN say that Ohio went for Obama. I live in Delaware County and the support wasn't visible. I work in the inner city and hope was there. It's wonderful that those who need change can believe and finally get a chance to see change. My deceased parents from Mississippi are watching over us with Medgar and Chaney. I am fired up to go to the inner city this morning and Teach better than I have ever taught before. Thanks Obama/Biden, I am truly an American NOW!

When I first volunteered in Cleveland to campaign for Sen. Obama's quest for the White House, I was told by a campaign coordinator that Ohio was key, vital & crucial to be won.......NO MATTER WHAT ELSE HAPPENED on Election night.....
I had been watching Sen. Obama's projected electoral numbers via the 'Net every day since the RNC, and saw them stay the same for quite awhile, and then rise and fall on occassion.....well, by election night, I just couldn't watch them anymore.....because on that night, there were being posted in REAL TIME, at 5 minute intervals!!!!!!
So I turned off my computer, and just relied on my sources via MSNBC; who, when they announced that Sen. Obama had won Ohio, I knew he was IN!!
I am 57 years old, and am so blessed to know that both my parents (born in 1925) lived to see this day come about!! I am also the proud grandmother to my first grandchild this year, so I will be saving every bit of new media, photos. etc for him to treasure as this historical journey unfolds in the coming 4 years!!

I first supported Barack b/c his message about change is Biblical. People say that they want change, but are not doing anything to make that happen but as my pastor would say (Creflo Dollar)Ignorance is expecting something different but doing the same thing. 2ndly I supported him b/c he supported the option for many of us to choose the life we want to live whether he agreed w/it or not. Again this is biblical even God said that I put before you life & death you choose. Then He said just in case you don't know which to choose (choose)life. However that choice is between them and God. Barack is for: real change, family, financial stability, health care, equality, and justice for all. With that being said Barack I'm proud of you for being the Dream that Dr. King saw in a vision and making it possible to all young/old black/white that a man can be judge by the content of His Character and not by the color of his skin. Today I'm truly Proud to say that I'm an American. You've been an inspiration to us all including my 5th grade daughter Maliyah (ironic isn't it). Who is on the Principal’s honor roll & was inducted into the Nat'l Jr. Beta Club. And in her effort to run for class secretary we implemented your message for change in her speech. Although she lost and was second runner up the student body and staff were so impressed that they offered her the position to MC the grandparent’s day celebration. Trust me your effort to bring about CHANGE has resonated w/us all. I thank you for being the Man of God that you are and the new Shepherd to this sheep called these United States of America. God Bless You, Michelle, Malia, and Sasha. It is truly an honor to now pray for my President and his family. And yes First Lady Michelle you are truly a Blessing (Empowerment) to us all. Thank you for being Full of Zeal and being the help meet that God ordained you to be to this Awesome Man of God. You are Change and I Bless God for Empowering us w/your Presence. Be Empowered to Prosper in all that you Do. I Love you w/the Love of God. For we know that Love never fails. Be Blessed, Your fellow American and World Changer Tatsumie King

21 years ago I was raped at knifepoint by 3 black men, because of this I have been terrified of all black men ever sinse. Yesterday I pushed my fear aside and did something I never thought I would be able to do. I cast my vote for Senator Obama to be my next president. I am putting my trust in a black man for the first time in 21 years people. For me this was a groundbreaking day and when I waited up half the night watching the news and saw the final results I cried out of relief as well as a feeling of elation and freedom - freedom of fear.

My fellow Americans:
On the 11/04/2008 at about 1.39:AM I wrote a blog
on this Website predicting a resounding Victory
for Senator Barrack Obama.
Check it out here :
Link
I knew it and I beleieved it and I said so in
writing.
I refer you to this Blog because I want to tell
you this:
Let us now begin to lay the ground work for the
Obama/Biden Ticket in 2012 because we cannot allow
this to be a ," one shoe Presidency" we have got
to take it all the way to 2012 and beyond.
Mr.President and Executive Team I urge you to make
certain that you do not allow a ($40,000,000) or
whatever huge Party on your inaguration day. Do
not allow for a "party like atmosphere" in
Washington as our troops are at war and our Nation
is under severe economic attack.
"Job loss","Home Loss" and war is the legacy of
left to us.
I urge the 44th President of the United States of
America to not indulge in "Party Like" rejoicing
on inauguration day but to keep the events of the
say as a somber reminder that we are
a nation under attack militarily and economically.
Now let us at once start the campaign for 2012.

I am not an American citezen so i couldn't vote, but I believed in Barrack Obama and that he will bring change, hope that any African-American can be whatever he/she wants to be, because we are all equal! From what i have seen the old American people still keep their mentality about african americans like 40 years ago...which is sad... but I am proud of the young generations that they were a big part of this historic moment. Congratulations America! Congratulations Barrack Obama !
