As CNN has been doing quite a bit during this election cycle, don't expect an apology.
But we can expect the CNN reporters to experience humiliation. By the time this election is over a reporter who lists CNN on his resume would not geta job even delivering the local newspaper, let alone writing for it.
The mistakes of 'parity' instead of 'fairness' (when they fault McCain on truth, approach, etc. CNN 'must' find some sort or equivalent 'fault' with Obama), and CNN's lack of newsworthy standards (is it relevant, is it actually something new? - the sun coming up in the morning is relevant, but it's not NEW.. and not newsworthy) on stories such as Ayers, and then missing the story when they do get something newsworthy (the disenfrancisement of voters) are all pretty much relegating the CNN news folk to pure entertainment.
The institutions that gave these people their journalism degrees should also be humiliated. Is this the sort of 'product' that they put out? Are these clowns the best representation of these schools?
There is no doubt that the story will be 'corrected'.. usually in a small story run once on a saturday morning, in they year 1011. SO the damage is already done, can't be undone, and only with a tremendous CNN coverage of 24/7 repeating that they made a 'technical' error will their really be any way to mitigate the 'wrong'.
Thus CNN reporters, not as a group, but each one individually, should seriously consider another line of work. They certainly suck as journalists.

Allow me to summarize the week's controversies for Sarah Palin in Alaska:
Monday, Sarah Palin was sued by another Alaskan Republican for using private emails to conduct state business (an attempt to avoid Freedom of Information Act documentation requests, claims the lawsuit):
Link
Wednesday, the state announced an investigation of her myriad per diem and expense reimbursements:
Link
Wednesday, the Alaskan Supreme Court also listened to arguments to keep the Troopergate report from becoming public, which they officially rejected Thursday.
Link
Friday, the Legislative Commission report found Palin had abused her power and violated Alaska state ethics statutes.
Link
Saturday, a protest over all this is planned in front of the capitol in Juneau (where Obama is *very* popular).
Link
Somehow she managed to avoid trouble here on Tuesday. 'Course, she *was* busy fermenting fear, hatred and paranoia throughout the nation.
An Alaskan for Obama! :-)

Hello All!
The Ghost Writer Guild (an Obama group) is writing letters and op-ed articles that support the candidacy of Senator Barack Obama, and we’d like your help.
You can cut and paste the featured article of the day into the Speak Out communication tool provided by HQ. Have you used this tool yet? It’s an incredibly powerful and easy way to distribute letters and articles to national, regional, and local newspapers.
Link
To use it, scroll down and pick a state. Enter your zip code and click "participate.” Then cut and paste the article and submit it to any newspaper(s) on the list.
TODAY we have 3 new featured articles! “John McCain: Playing Games with voters” states, "Desperate to change the subject from the economy, he is playing games by making personal attacks against Obama. He has decided to gamble the future of this country instead of offering solutions. That’s not putting country first; that’s not being a maverick. That is old politics.” You can read the article here:
Link
“A Risky Choice for President” examines John McCain’s shady past and asks “Why should we wait around to find out if McCain has learned the lesson this time? What will it cost us if he hasn’t?” You can read the article here:
Link
“Is the surge working?” is a very concise letter that makes the point that “To talk about winning in Iraq, we must know what winning means. Barack Obama and Joe Biden have made this clear: winning involves holding the Iraqi government accountable.” You can read the article here:
Link
In addition, you can access other archived articles on The Ghost Writer Guild blog:
Link
Please also feel free to post any of these articles on your own blog, and to email them to friends and family. If you have an extra second or two, please leave a comment on the blog so we get a sense of how well this strategy is working.
Help us get the word out! The pen (or the PC) is mightier than the sword, but only if potential voters read those articles. YOU can make that happen.
Jude

How could I vote for someone with family as hostile to American values as Cheney?
And WHY has Obama not told us more about his relationship with Cheney? What is he hiding? Really this is not about Cheney... that would be dwelling in the past.
It's about Obama's judgment in having such a cousin and his failure to tell us something unspecified that, were we to know it, would make us even more suspicious of him....

By

Oct 11th 2008 at 1:51 am EDT (Updated Oct 11th 2008 at 1:51 am EDT)
I was just reading a very interesting take on the Troopergate story. McCain/Palin can no longer use the "lack of judgment" or "poor judgment" line of attack, considering that argument has been totally negated by McCain selecting Palin as his VP:
--------
Posted on HuffPost by: Rapid_Ray
This investigation and it's findings remain poignant. John McCain has now become someone who is "guilty by association" under the same terms he has applied to Barak Obama. Given his ethical behavior during his relationship with Charles Keating, his credibility on matters of trust is now nonexistant.
The question has been answered...John McCain did not properly vet his VP candidate.
There's no gray area here. McCain was either unwilling or unable to to recognize Sarah Palin's part in this matter. If unwilling, it shows beyond a shadow of a doubt that his selection was purely political and done without regard to Palin's qualifications. If unable, it shows an even greater level of incompetence on his part and hints that Palin did not make him fully aware of the situation.
The suggestion that Sarah Palin step down no longer has relevance. That John McCain selected her at all squarely places his lack of judgment into the land of no return. Simply removing her from the ticket does not lessen her effect and, this late in the election, anyone who McCain would replace her with would only doom their own career. He had many qualified candidates to choose from before. None will accept that position now.
Honor is no longer his to claim. Honorable people do not attack a person on their character unless they apply the same values to themselves. John McCain has done no such thing and, by his own standards, is unfit for the office he seeks.

Make sense?

One example of a disadvantage is when the telephone rings at 3 a.m. because the caller didn't calculate the time difference. lol, lol Take care and be safe.

After September 11, 2001, a team of elite Delta Force commandos was sent into Afghanistan with an assignment to find and kill Osama bin Laden at Tora Bora -- but that mission failed.
The commander of the Delta Force team has now written a book which tells what he says is the true story of what went wrong. He appeared anonymously on CBS's 60 Minutes on Sunday to summarize that story.
Bin Laden was known to be holed up at Tora Bora on a ridge with an elevation of 14,000 feet. The Delta Force team's initial plan was to come at him from the direction he'd least expect, climbing over the mountains at his back, but that plan wasn't approved by the higher-ups. Their second idea, to drop hundreds of landmines along the mountain passes to Pakistan to impede bin Laden's retreat and then bring in helicopters, was also turned down.

Folks, John McCain is not the leader of his party, his party is leading him.
I used to work for a GOP fundraising company and I will be the first to admit that John McCain used to have the reputation of a Maverick. When raising money for GOP candidates we were instructed never to even mention John McCain's name because you will probably get hung up on.
When it became time to run for President he completely sold his soul. I watched as he shifted his views on Immigration, Taxes, and Off-shore drilling to a more hard-core Neo-con stance.
He had a chance to show how much of a Maverick he is with his selection of VP. But what does he do... he picks Sarah Palin.. who I believe was selected by Karl Rove himself in an attempt to woo disaffected Hillary voters while pleasing the hard core GOP base.
Now he lets his supporters run wild with these hate-filled rallies. I don't give him a pass after today.. because he needs to address his supporters fully about the hate that they are building against Obama.
On the other side there is Obama.
He has lead his party and took a stand on the Iraq war that said it was a mistake to even give George Bush the authority to engage in a "Dumb War" After defeating Hillary Clinton he told his supporters to go to Hillary Clinton.com and thank Hillary just for being a democrat and for being in the race until the end. After securing his party's nomination he immediately told the DNC it is time to stop taking money from Lobbyists. It was found out that Sarah Palin's daughter was pregnant.. and what did Obama do... he sent a strong warning that anybody in his campaign that makes this a political issue would be fired. I am not even a paid employee of Obama.. but even I was scared to go there about her daughter.
Remember that line... "John McCain doesn't speak for the McCain campaign" well that about sums it up right there.

Sarah Palin and the Alaskan Independence Party can be summed up in just two words: ALASKA FIRST!
Link
Joe Vogler (1913-1993) was the founder of the Alaskan Independence Party(AKIP) and active in politics, regularly running for public office in Alaska for many years.
Vogler was murdered in 1993. Vogler was buried in Dawson City, Yukon Territory, Canada, fulfulling a wish that he not be buried under the American flag. His second wife, Doris, who died of cancer in January 1992, is buried next to him.
"I'm an Alaskan, not an American. I've got no use for America or her damned institutions."
-----Joe Vogler
"The fires of hell are frozen glaciers compared to my hatred for the American government...and I won't be buried under their damn flag."
- Joe Vogler, Founder of the Alaskan Independence Party (AKIP).
Dexter Clark, the Vice Chairman from the Alaska Independence Party(AKIP) talks about the necessity of infiltrating the major national parties in order to further the goals of the AKIP.
Dexter Clark, says this of Palin:
"Our current governor who I mentioned at the last conference, the one we were hoping would get elected, Sarah Palin, did get elected . . . .and there was a lot of talk about her moving up. She was an AIP member before she got the job as mayor...
He also said:
"And when we speak at the high school and we talk to these youngsters and tell them they're different, they already know. And when we talk about America, there are kids in that class doing this (shows thumbs down), and when we say Alaskan, their thumbs are up."
He referred to the American soldiers in Alaska as 'occupying troops'.
Todd Palin Was Registered Member of Alaska Independence Party until 2002 when he registered again as an undeclared voter. Sarah Palin also ran with the party's slogan in her campaign. They claim her as a member. She is also captured on video praising their efforts. She travelled 8-12 hours from Texas-switched flight- to Alaska to have her baby on Alaskan soil(after her water broke??) . Her children are named after Alaskan events/places, etc(normally not a big deal--but it ties in with the 'Alaska First' theme of this group.).

I am definitely a supporter of Sen. Obama. I think he is the greatest candidate we have had in ages.
After a week of the McCain / Palin ticket bashing my candidate inappropriately, Sen. McCain finally, today, did something that perhaps shows some of the courage he had as a POW. He pointed out the errors of the audience today. And he did it more than once. He pointed out to a lady that Sen. Obama is an American family man. He pointed out to an individual that one need not be “scared” of Sen. Obama being the president. He indicated that the conduct from his campaign needed to be respectful of our ticket. He endured a negative response for his effort.
Now we need Gov. Palin to do something similar. America is no place for the type of hatred that resulted from the McCain / Palin events this last week.

I totally agree with this comment.
Here is what it stated in my newspaper this morning(in an ariticle by Don Davis of the State Capital Bureau (MN)):
"Gayle Quinnell of Shakopee, Minn., told McCain: 'I don't trust Barack Obama because he's an Arab.'
McCain snatched the microphone out of the 75-year-old woman's hand and said: 'He's a decent family man, citizen that I just happen to have disagreements with on fundamental issues.'"
Now if McCain had whacked Gayle over the head with the microphone and yelled, "For crying out loud, how many times do you have to hear that Obama is not an Arab before you get it through your thick skull!" Then I might be willing to believe that he was doing something other than acting. But as it was, you'll notice he did nothing to contradict the Arab comment. His campaign is nothing but negative and his supporters are getting desperate and looking for him to get even nastier.
Stay positive and GO OBAMA!!

n Letter to 'NYT,' Man Who Prosecuted Weather Underground Hits Linking Ayers to Obama
By Greg Mitchell
Published: October 10, 2008 9:00 AM ET
NEW YORK In a surprising a letter to the editor published in The New York Times today, the chief prosecutor of the Weather Underground in the 1970s expressed outrage over the linking of Barack Obama to Bill Ayers by the McCain campaign, adding, "Although I dearly wanted to obtain convictions against all the Weathermen, including Bill Ayers, I am very pleased to learn that he has become a responsible citizen."
William C. Ibershof also corrects a charge in the Times: "I do take issue with the statement in your news article that the Weathermen indictment was dismissed because of 'prosecutorial misconduct.' It was dismissed because of illegal activities, including wiretaps, break-ins and mail interceptions, initiated by John N. Mitchell, attorney general at that time, and W. Mark Felt, an F.B.I. assistant director."
Felt, of course (you may have already forgotten), was also known as a guy called "Deep Throat."

As the lead federal prosecutor of the Weathermen in the 1970s (I was then chief of the criminal division in the Eastern District of Michigan and took over the Weathermen prosecution in 1972), I am amazed and outraged that Senator Barack Obama is being linked to William Ayers’s terrorist activities 40 years ago when Mr. Obama was, as he has noted, just a child.
Although I dearly wanted to obtain convictions against all the Weathermen, including Bill Ayers, I am very pleased to learn that he has become a responsible citizen.
Because Senator Obama recently served on a board of a charitable organization with Mr. Ayers cannot possibly link the senator to acts perpetrated by Mr. Ayers so many years ago.

Ms. Graham said she later met with Mr. Obama at Avenzare, an Italian restaurant, and after a lengthy conversation, asked him to chair the board of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, which he agreed to do if she served as vice chair and helped him.
Mr. Obama’s life story, she believed, could serve as testimony that lower-income and minority children could thrive when given access to good schools—a chief goal of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge.
“I thought a young man of that extraordinary personal background ... would be much more inspirational for a group of Chicago public school kids than a middle-aged white woman like me,” Ms. Graham said.
All three former foundation executives said this month that their decisions to recommend Mr. Obama were not influenced by Mr. Ayers or Ms. Hallett.
“I can speak to the fact that Bill Ayers had nothing to do with the appointment of Obama to the Annenberg Challenge, and he was not significantly involved with the challenge after Obama was appointed,” Ms. Graham said.
The board of CAC approved Mr. Obama as chairman at its first meeting, in March 1995, on the recommendation of Ms. Graham.

I have been blogging a bit more because I have laryngitis and bad flu, etc. so no calling or going door to door for me.
Did anyone see Rachel Maddow and Bill Maher tonight? Really great reporting for Rachel and alot of laughs for Bill's show. I hope that no one gets upset because we are all going to be vigilant up until the very end of this but I am definitely starting to relax and feel my work and faith rewarded - can I just feel it a bit?
For example,I heard that Palin had a decision go against her for troopergate tonight and I just am seeing so many people come on board all around me - better late than never. I would talk out loud and never whisper very early on in this campaign but others around me did not seem to want to put that Obama sign in the window ( I put mine inside to show out through our window because of trouble with signs being removed, etc. ).
So the great feeling for me is that I supported Barack from the beginning. I was true to my beliefs. That got me into alot of trouble with my father and his girlfriend. They looked very horrified at me when early on I supported Barack. My brother supported Barack but let me take the heat and never would admit it in front of my father.
So that gets my brother the authority to be in on all of my father's financial dealings and hold a checkbook with both of their names on it and have all decision-making even though he is 14 years younger than me and I am the oldest surviving daughter. I am left out. So now I feel more justified only because others are coming around now and the company feels very nice. My father will not talk to me about it and probably will still vote McCain but here is the difference between my brother and I:
I am true to my own internal moral compass even if it gets me into trouble and it defintely does. I noticed that Barack Obama and those he associates with are also true to themselves and their beliefs. So even though it is not over yet I would like to feel a bit better and thank God for truth and faith.

Barack 'Osama' on Rensselaer Co New York Ballots
So.....the election officials in Rensselaer County New York made an spelling "error"???
Would you believe that three (3) separate people proofed these ballots?
At the expense of the candidate and voters, paid servants of the taxpayers couldn't handle the task of spelling the last name of the Presidential frontrunner correctly? Has the rhetoric from a campaign spilled over into the elections office? Ya think? I wonder, can these idiots spell the name of their own county? Rensselaer?
New York: Barack 'Osama' on Rensselaer County ballots
Election officials on both sides of aisle insist error on absentee ballots was a typo
By BOB GARDINIER, Staff writer Friday, October 10, 2008 TROY — Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's last name is spelled "Osama" on hundreds of absentee ballots mailed out this week to voters in Rensselaer County.
...
Is it a Freudian slip, intentional act or a mistake? Voters are sure to have opinions, and one pol pointed out that the letters 's' and 'b' are not exactly keyboard neighbors.
But even the county Democratic election commissioner is apologizing for what he calls a terrible mistake.
McDonough said the absentee ballots went out to voters in Brunswick, Nassau, Sand Lake, Schaghticoke and Schodack with the error.
...''It's a little suspicious and at least grossly incompetent,'' the voter said. "If I crossed out the name and wrote in the right spelling my ballot would be invalid."

Ever heard of Kotov Syndrome?
According to Wikipedia: "In chess, Kotov syndrome is a phenomenon first described in Alexander Kotov's 1971 book Think Like a Grandmaster. It occurs when a player thinks very hard for a long time in a complicated position, but does not find a clear path. The player then notices he is running low on time, and so quickly makes a move, often a terrible one that was not analyzed at all, and so loses the game. Once so described, many players have agreed that the process is very common."
This term sounds alot like McShame's campaign lately, doesn't it? (It's also a song on one of my favorite band's new album - that's how I came across it).

This factcheck is interesting for those who do not look more into the other players involved with Obama, Bill Ayers and this charity board.
Here is one paragraph and i will link the entire site.
"McCain says in an Internet ad that the two "ran a radical 'education' foundation" in Chicago. But the supposedly "radical" group was supported by a Republican governor and included on its board prominent local civic leaders, including one former Nixon administration official who has given $1,500 to McCain's campaign this year. Education Week says the group's work "reflected mainstream thinking" among school reformers. The group was the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, started by a $49 million grant from the Annenberg Foundation, which was established by the publisher Walter Annenberg, a prominent Republican whose widow, Leonore, is a contributor to the McCain campaign."

Ask the media to highlight this information since they want to keep talking about whether Ayers will be a problem for Obama. If they have any decency whatever, they will givet his equal time. It's worth a try. Often if enough people complain by calling and/or emailing, especially if they threaten that they know many people who will stop watching and write the sponsors, things change.

An estimated 20,000 Denver County voters left the polls before casting a ballot in 2006 after an epic electronic poll book failure that prevented elections officials from confirming the eligibility of voters, causing long lines and short tempers. Sequoia Voting Systems, the firm that received the no-bid database contract, blamed "user error" on poll workers. A former software firm owner who served as an Election Day poll book judge told The Colorado Independent days after the 2006 election that a faulty, untested and possibly unfinished product constantly crashed when poll workers across the county logged in.
In order to avoid that fate, some counties have opted to print a paper poll book to check off voters.
"I don't have any inclination that it will fall apart, but it is something we are watching very closely," says Flanagan. "Every county is going to be different whether it uses the electronic poll book or a paper one."
While elections groups warn of possible SCORE problems, the Secretary of State's Office remains confident about the program. Spokesman Rich Coolidge did not return a Monday phone call seeking comment, but the Durango Telegraph recently quoted Coffman expressing his optimism after a mock primary election using SCORE was held last May. "I'm pleased that the election met the goals we set and was ultimately a success," he told the Telegraph.
Though SCORE's performance has yet to be determined, Colorado could face problems akin to those in Florida and Ohio. In 2000, Florida's election hold-up had to do with faulty voting machines that miscounted votes.
"We have a history of problems with voting machines," says Flanagan, referring to Coffman's decertification and subsequent recertification of electronic voting systems statewide. "It is a potential issue we might see."
And in Ohio, the hours-long lines of 2004 could be replicated here unless each county takes care to adequately staff its polling places. "In Colorado, we don't have specific formulas to require how we set up our polling places," says Flanagan. "That is something we are at risk for but we haven't had huge problems in the past."

There is some dangerously wrong when 8 years have past and we still cannot trust the mechanism we use to vote. Eight years, count them. If you hired a contractor to do some work for you on a job that at the outside takes a year and 8 years later it was neither completed nor functional would you not have a winnable law suite?
People... this is not rocket science. These are microsoft windows computers at their core. Carnegie Mellon reviewed the software used for voting and concluded that it looks like 11 year kids wrote it. Diebold has gone through name change after name change to hide who they are.
When challenged to place their so called proprietary software up for scrutiny they refused saying they couldn't because parts of it are protected by microsoft agreements. Microsoft scoffed at the absurdity of the statement and said release it as they were not concerned about any existing agreement between them and Diebold.
Voting is the cornerstone of our democracy and the republicans have us in total fear our vote or that of our fellow states will not be accurately counted. This is outrageous on it's face.
It doesn't matter if it's Diebold, Sequoia or whatever company that is involved they should be made to answer criminal charges and driven out of business for good. Back to paper ballots and to hell with the electronic garbage.

This is a prime opportunity for Obama to show leadership. I think we all want a dose of reality and to be spoken to like adults. We need a leader who will level with us about the sacrifices ahead. Someone to compel us to stand shoulder to shoulder with each other and share this responsibility. I'm ready to help my brother. I'm just waiting for someone to ask.
I am 100% behind the man and his policies but I am heart broken for the crappy hand that he's being dealt. I am still optimistic that once we get ourselves dusted off, we can achieve the great things to which we aspire. But there is a lot of work to be done on our economic system in the meantime. Let's be realistic. When Obama takes office, the economy will be Job #1 for a while. This meltdown is a game changer. To quell this crisis we need his cool hand, and strong leadership. John McCain is stoking hate and poison and god help us if somehow he wins. I think we need a dose of reality and Obama is the one to give it.

Even if someone truly agrees with the McCain / Palin take on the issues, how can one really continue to support the ticket? The spread in the surveys should start taking a real jump in Sen. Obama's favor.
Strike one: They have created an inappropriate atmosphere of hate.
Strike two: Sen. McCain has been erratic on possible, yet poor, solutions to valid issues.
Strike three: He chose a running mate who betrayed the public trust in Alaska. It was surprising to hear some defending (including the McCain campaign) her actions. It was also surprising that some responded that this shouldn't be an issue. To me, this is an important issue. Initially it was a little confusing since the report indicated that she had the right to fire her department heads. Finally, someone explained (although I am not sure many are listening) that the ethics violation wasn't in the firing, but the way the Palin family went about the process of trying to get the ex brother-in-law fired.
Surrounding the debates there was always the opinion that Sen. McCain (or Gov. Palin) needed to hit a home run, or do something to create a "game changer". To me, this should be a game changer. I can only hope a majority of the country sees it this way. It reinforces my opinion that Gov. Palin has absolutely no business attempting to become the Vice-President (on one news program, a former staffer indicated that Gov. Palin was unqualified for the position). It also reinforces, as if there weren't enough other reasons, that Sen. McCain should never be elected the President.

Reminds me of when I used to try to rationalize Hillary's campaign - thinking in some moments that she really was staying in for Barack's sake, so he could run a 50 state primary campaign, get ayers, wright etc. fully aired during the primary season, and so on.
Thing is, then there would be another brutal attack/debate, or the fight for FL & MI, etc. - and I had to finally give up my rationalizations.
Do you know that hours after McCain tried to calm his crowd, his campaign started trying to link Michelle to Ayers?
Do you know that two campaign reps came out with statements falsely accusing Barack of attacking McCain's supporters, at the same time defending their supporters?
Watch tomorrow for what ads run, what comes from press releases, at rallies, etc.
Then watch the next day, and the next, and maybe you will eventually be able to give up the ghost of John McCain past.

It's all pretty simple to me. McCain caved into the radical right of the party , and tried to appease then , and lost himself in the process. Now he has dug a hole that has robbed him of his self respect and honor , if he ever had any.
He is going to lose this election , and he might as well retire because , he will have zero clout in the Senate.

I can not for the life of me (without some crazy theory) explain why any U.S. politician would say we are cutting 1.4 trillion out of Medicare. I am half stupid and drunk and I know that takes florida off the map. It is and has been for a long time the third rail in politics. ZZZZAAAAAAP. He did it again at the debate with social security isn't gonna always be here for people and non-essential non-military goverment spending could be frozen temporarily while we "deal with the crisis". Why would he do this when every single person who ever has studied modern politics say's that you cannot do that and win?

I knew they would come to NC. The 527s are back in full force.
I saw 2 different versions -one blames Democrats especially Dodd and Reid (and Freedie & Fannie)for the financial mess. This is nonsense and has been debunked. The second one attacks BO.
The RNC is also now sponsoring some ads
However in NC we have been flooding the airwaves and have a superior ground game.
I believe we can carry NC but it will be tough- the last dems carried NC was in 1976.

What really burns me up is the way these poor people managed to hide their ill-gotten wealth by cleverly diverting their billions to banking executives.
And now McCain wants to help them out with new mortgage loans!! When will the madness end?

I am going to keep him in my heart and thoughts to be protected and for him to return home again.
I hope the Obama gets into office soon, you he can get you and all the other military, including my nephew home where you all belong.
Thank you again for voting, thank you for being a person in the military that is voting for Obama, it means a lot to me, but I am sure I am not the only one! It must be afternoon there. It is 1:30AM here, I was just getting ready to go to bed after I hit my third yawn and it just now happened. Remember fill out your ballot today and get it back in the US safe, we want your vote to count.

Ed, You're right, I do think you are misled. My greatest fear is that McCain will pass and Palin will be at the helm. That scares me tremendously. I like her spunk, etc. But I do not feel that she can lead our country. Her inexperience and "country bumpkin-ness" do not make me comfortable at all. Her Troopergate situation and her and her husband's involvement in the AIG is troubling, just as Rev. Wright was for Obama. McCain has really disappointed me by turning negative after I thought he was an honorable man. I started hearing him say and use some of Obama's phrases and solutions and knew he would be weak. I am now a 25 year Republican turned Democrat. As for your fear of Obama attending a Muslim school, you really need to do some fact checking. I have on every count and feel comfortable. Did you realized that the board that he sat on with Ayers was funded by a Republican and that one of the board members donated to McCain's campaign? It scares me that many many people believe so much of the stuff that comes out to scare us away from possibly voting for Obama. Check the facts and if you still feel uncomfortable, that is ok, at least you will have done right by be educated and informed.

McCain praised Obama for his win in his own way by yanking the mic out of that ladies hand when she said she thought he was an Arab and telling her the truth that he is a decent human bieng and the other comment about not fearing him when he is the president!!! The only thing better that he could have done there would have been to say "so what if he was?" he did good to
squash down some of this Manchurian stuff tho.
That does not mean the political theater is over it just means that the secret service told the McCain camp to chill out and McCain deserves a nod for this as grumpy and old as he is.

Ed your tone was respectful, so I'll assume you believe what you say.
But as one woman who worked in the senate pointed out, there is no way that ongoing investigations by the CIA of all members of the senate would have allowed Sen. Obama to serve in the state and U.S. senate for almost 10 years if there were any substance to these charges.
I'm sure Sen. Obama got even closer scrutiny by the CIA because of the vague "red flags" (like his middle name), that the Repubs are trying to use as "proof" of something sinister.
You can rest assured these accusations are false.

The headquarters of the John McCain-Sarah Palin ticket in Michigan, located at 31330 Northwestern Highway in Farmington Hills in suburban Detroit, is owned by a law firm called Trott & Trott that specializes in housing foreclosures.
As the Republican nominee makes his first post-convention appearance in Sterling Heights, Mich., today, the livelihood of his local host has not yet attracted much notice. But if the Trott name rings no bells among the national press corps, it is all too familiar to the record number of Michigan residents facing foreclosures on their homes in this election year.
McCain’s landlord boasts of providing “comprehensive foreclosure, bankruptcy litigation and related services for the real estate finance industry.”
That means that as the Michigan housing market goes south, the Trott & Trott firm is prospering. The firm’s founder, David A. Trott, is also donating generously to the McCain campaign.
Trott and his wife Kathleen have given $23,000 to the McCain campaign in 2007-08, according to the Center for Responsive Politics. They gave another $52,400 to the Republican National Committee in May of this year.

Court records show that Trott & Trott works closely with Countrywide, the notorious southern California subprime lender. Countrywide’s lending polices have, by all accounts, played a significant role in the national housing market’s boom and bust cycle of the last two years.
When Countrywide’s borrowers find themselves unable to meet their payments, Trott’s firm helps the lender extract advantage from those who cannot pay the unreasonable terms that they, wittingly or unwittingly, signed up for. There’s nothing illegal about Trott & Trott’s business but the firm has faced scores of lawsuits over its handling of foreclosure cases, according to court records.
Consider the story of 72-year-old Ruby Curl-Pinkins, a disabled senior in Detroit who had paid off her home for 45 years when she succumbed to a too-good-to-be-true loan from Countrywide, according to WDIV, the NBC station in Detroit.
Unable to keep up with the 10 percent mortgage payments and her medical bills, Curl obtained a reverse mortgage to pay off the subprime loan in full. Countrywide, represented by Trott & Trott, refused to take the reverse mortgage money, according to the Michigan Citizen, an African-American weekly in Detroit.

“They acted like the situation was personal,” Curl-Pinkins daughter said. “At one point they told me, ‘You better quit filing stuff or you’ll be paying our attorney fees,’ and demanded $900 for that day from us. They tried to bully [Wayne County Circuit Court] Judge Susan Borman, objecting to giving us any more time before the eviction. They wanted my mother out in 24 hours. They told the judge they didn’t even have a buyer, they just wanted the house back.”
Rick Simon, a spokesman for the Countrywide and Trott & Trott, said Curl-Pinkins had been given two extensions.
“Our first priority is to preserve homeownership,” Simon said. “Unfortunately, in some cases, continued homeownership is not an option, due to the state of the economy or personal circumstances … ”
Then there’s the story of a Michigan property owner named Robb. He recounted his experience with T&T on Ripoffreport.com, a Web site devoted to consumer complaints.
Without warning or cause, Countrywide Home Mortgage Finance through their attorney, Trott & Trott, ordered the Kent County Sheriff to sell my home (condo) at the Kent County, Michigan Sheriff’s Property Sale.
It was sold on March 22nd, 2006. At the same time, Countrywide reported to the three biggest Credit Reporting Agencies in the USA (Trans_Union, Experian and EquiFax) that my home mortgage had been foreclosed and the property was sold at the Sheriff’s Property Sale. Well, they didn’t lie. The property WAS foreclosed and sold. The problem was that Countrywide had ordered this foreclosure and sale BY MISTAKE . . . Countrywide’s MISTAKE!
Robb said he called Trott & Trott to tell them that there had been “a big screw up.”
“Sir,” said the ‘processor’ matter-of-factly, “Countrywide gives us the properties they want sold and we see to it that they get sold. We don’t control which properties are sold and which are not. You’ll have to call Countrywide and ask them. Good-bye.”
When Robb called Countrywide, he says he was told to call Trott & Trott.
“One Circuit Court Injunction and $4,500 in attorney fees later, an agreement was signed by Countrywide and myself, the sale was undone, I paid the back payments without interest, late charges and attorney fees,” Robb wrote.

Michigan Messenger spoke with Abayomi Azikywe, a spokesman for Moratorium Now!, a coalition of community groups seeking to stop foreclosures and evictions. The group’s primary goal is passage of Senate Bill 1306, introduced by state Sen. Hansen Clarke, which would require courts to prohibit the foreclosure of a residential mortgage or land contract for two years if the borrower requests it, notwithstanding the provisions of any contract between the lender and borrower.
Moratorium Now! has begun looking into the possibility of a class action lawsuit against, but not limited to, Countrywide and Trott & Trott.
“There are a lot of bad feelings toward Trott & Trott as they’ve developed a reputation of being ruthless, and unwilling to work with Michigan citizens, particularly seniors, disabled or the unemployed,” Azikywe explained.
But there are no such bad feelings between Trott & Trott and the Republican presidential nominee. John McCain can afford to pay his bills on time.

Imagine if the Obamas had hooked up with a violently anti-American group in league with the government of Iran.
“My government is my worst enemy. I’m going to fight them with any means at hand.”
This was former revolutionary terrorist Bill Ayers back in his old Weather Underground days, right? Imagine what Sarah Palin is going to do with this incendiary quote as she tears into Barack Obama this week.
Only one problem. The quote is from Joe Vogler, the raging anti-American who founded the Alaska Independence Party. Inconveniently for Palin, that’s the very same secessionist party that her husband, Todd, belonged to for seven years and that she sent a shout-out to as Alaska governor earlier this year. (“Keep up the good work,” Palin told AIP members. “And God bless you.”)
AIP chairwoman Lynette Clark told me recently that Sarah Palin is her kind of gal. “She’s Alaskan to the bone … she sounds just like Joe Vogler.”
So who are these America-haters that the Palins are pallin’ around with?

McCain's realization his campaign message has exceeded the limits of integrity, feeding into the Anger/Fear Side of his base should be a reminder to US to Take the High Road.
McCain is to be commended for choosing not to take the Low Road.
Sometimes one or two of our bloggers has gone down that same Ugly Path and I too am guilty of shooting off my mouth without thinking first.
When ANY campaign delves into Name Calling and irrelevant family smears, it reflects badly on our message, on Obama, and on our campaign.
Our supporters represent a spectrum of supporters; Republicans, Independents, Right to Life AND Reproductive Rights supporters, inner city and rural residents, Rich, Poor, Middle Class, VERY rich and VERY poor.
Saying something nasty about McCain, McCain's Supporters or the GOP may be offending someone in our base - and that's not only unfair, but off-putting.
As Ambassadors of the Obama Campaign and representatives of the next President of the United States -
We are held accountable to Higher Standards.

I completely agree that we need to stay positive and absolutely on-message. Being respectful and positive will always be the better path.
I do; however, need to express that I believe Senator McCain's actions in this past week were intentionally meant to cast doubt upon Senator Obama's patriotism and heritage with ugly, veiled inuendo - 'Who is the real Barack Obama? He doesn't see things the way 'we' do. Pals around with terrorists'
He and Senator Palin have incited this abhorant behavior and they should have spoken out at the first rally. They knew what was happening and it was the intended outcome of their campaign - it is the trademark of the individuals who are running his campaign.
It is fair to professionally hold Senator McCain responsible for his campaign strategy and behavior. He is in a leadership role and he is feeding in to the fears and most ugly element. His response in the town hall meeting last evening was almost what he had to do when face-to-face with vile and fearful comments. Yet, the ads and campaign spokespersons continue with the same line that is inciting inappropriate reactions.
I find Senator McCain's behavior to be dishonorable and disgraceful - not appropriate for anyone in this role.
Bottom line - I will just work harder and be as positive and respectful as I know Senator Obama would want from his campaign. Besides, it feels great to be positive and respectful.
We can all demonstrate there is a better way to win this and we can demonstrate what a united country can actually accomplish. We have so much good to share!

May be it's time we should ask who is Palin? Just because she was chosen in the last moment by McCain without any scrutiny, she can say anything about Obama? There's a awful lot of controversy about her last baby Trig whether he is Palin's kid or her daughter's. She suddenly announced her pregnancy during seventh month, flew back to local hospital on the day of delivery, and returned to work 3 days after giving birth. Her eldest daughter Bristol did not show up in the school for a while before Trig was born. What is a hockey mom doing running for white house? The GOP who is the party of rich, and greedy, wants us to take any crap they say? Why aren't the democrats raising these questions?

Hi everyone
The election is coming soon and yesterday's McCain ads about Obama and his relationship with Bill Ayers may be damaging to an average voter. Obama need to respond effectively and quickly. This is not something you stay cool and let the voters decide. Obama need to make an ad not necessarily directly responding to those charges but at least countering and stating why McCain is doing that right now when he is behind in most polls. Obama is not leading by 10 or more points so anything can change and as much as well all hate negative ads study after study have shown that they do work and this could damage Obama on polls and eventually lose the election. Obama and his team need to understand this is not democratic primary where each primary voter as soon as rumor comes out they go and read on New York Times or any other relevant sources. The undecided voters which McCain is looking by using these ads may never have time or willing to go and find the truth rather would vote by emotions.
I really want to Obama to go neck in neck with McCain and respond to these ads. I do not care about his satellite Obama TV (frankly I do not think it is effective in getting the independent voters). I would rather Obama and his team create an ad for which as soon as people have McCain ad they can get equally strong response from Obama's ad. What is NOT sufficient is to stay cool and hope the media will help. Media do not help because media are not checking for truth but rather they bring both sides (surrogate from republican and democrats) argue for few seconds and that is done.
Obama is running for president and need to serious show he wants the job and not let those negative ads go unanswered. The worst can happen now at this late time is that if polls change and Obama start running behind there is no time to react and change that. OBAMA YOU NEED to show you need the job and in 24 hours cable TV you need to act quickly to answer those ads not in the form of campaign speech but in equally effective TV ad. This election is for Obama to lose and will lose it in these last three weeks.
THANKS

ACORN Response to Senator McCain's Smear Ad |
Report to Admin
By
Heidi in New Haven, CT
Oct 11th 2008 at 7:54 am EDT (Updated Oct 11th 2008 at 7:54 am EDT)
ACORN President Maude Hurd released the following statement today in response to the McCain campaign's new ad claiming that, among other things, ACORN is responsible for the mortgage crisis:
"For almost a decade, ACORN, a community organization of 400,000 families in neighborhoods across the country, has been fighting against the predatory lending practices that have robbed our members of their homes, destabilized neighborhoods, and roiled the global economy.
"In his newest ad, John McCain's campaign bizarrely claims, 'ACORN forced banks to issue risky home loans, the same types of loans that caused the financial crisis we're in today.' Nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, ACORN has worked successfully to help working class families get good home loans on fair terms from legitimate banks and has fought vigorously against predatory lenders who have ripped off families in our communities. These predatory loans caused the crisis.
"For more than a decade, ACORN members have held protests, released reports, and advocated for regulations to protect homeowners from predatory lenders. ACORN organizers and volunteers have been working day and night to help victims of the GOP economic meltdown to save their homes from foreclosure. In fact, ACORN has brought class action lawsuits against several predatory lenders, and has lobbied the Federal Reserve and Congress in support of regulations against predatory lending. ACORN has even been successful in convincing many lenders to treat homeowners more fairly and help families be able to make their mortgage payments and save their homes.
"Unfortunately, the Bush administration and Congressional Republicans like John McCain have blocked the sensible regulations that ACORN and others proposed that would have averted the mortgage meltdown. If John McCain thinks that community organizers caused the foreclosure crisis, he knows even less about the economy than previously thought.
"John McCain and the Republicans are desperately trying to shift the blame for the economic crisis they caused with a philosophy of deregulation and indifference to homeowners. All the grainy footage and creepy music in the world can't cancel out some simple, basic facts, and the facts about the economy are not on John McCain's side."

We know that in the last two debates, Senator Obama proved to many (undecided voters, pundits, republicans, independents, and yes, democrats) that he is presidential. He proved that he can stay calm under fire. He showed his intelligence and integrity. He showed that he has a plan; a well thought out plan that will primarily help the working middle and lower income citizens and ultimately, everyone (benefits trickle up). He indicated that he will be everyone's President because there is only one America.
Factcheck.com and other groups -- and even some MSM outlets -- have proven false the claims made by the negative ads being run.
And even McCain has stated that Senator Obama is a decent, family-oriented CITIZEN (he’s not an Arab), and basically admitted that Senator Obama would make a good President (you have nothing to fear of an Obama presidency).
We also know that, no matter what, there are those who will never vote for Senator Obama.
Finally, even though the polls are looking good for Senator Obama, we know that we can’t be complacent. We have to keep working and donating as if we were 20 points behind in the polls.
So my question is, what must happen in this last debate to basically wrap up the election for Senator Obama and nail the door shut for McCain?

Nothing that signifies any changes in Obama/Biden's behaviors or attitudes. It will be now up to the voters. And yes, we need to stay on the job and on the coffers to the end, but not as if we are 20 points behind. I wish to not express doubts or insecurity. I know the majority of voter will elect Obama/Biden. My only concern is about rigging the election, corrupted and abusive poll workers, vigilance of voter's right. I will be cheering voter on to the poll til the last minute and donate all I got, but alone we can't have any justice. We need to send very clear signals that we will not accept a rigged election (Maccain's only hope now
It is okay to be happy and confident that this has been so far the best campaign ever ran.

In 24 days, we will know which direction this country will go. We will either continue with the chaotic, inequitable, uncertain, unstable, dishonorable policies of the current administration that benefit only the corporations and the well-to-do...
...or we will move to a higher plateau on a path towards change, unity, integrity and restoration of honor. We, as Americans will again be able to dream of a better future for ourselves and our children.
Electing Senators Obama and Biden will get us to that higher plateau.
Donating will help to get Senators Obama and Biden elected.
Please donate to help us reach that better path towards change.

You are so right about the direction this country should take to move to a better future for all of us. These two campaigns represent stark differences as to which directions the country decides to take. On one hand, you have the McCain campaign, an excellent example of a 20th century approach that was initiatied by Lee Atwater, standardized by Karl Rove, and continued by Steve Schmidt and John McCain. It is a campaign style that won by dividing and parsing people into antagonistic groups. After each election, a particular group won, but the country remained bitterly divided.
On the other hand, you have the Obama campaign, an extraordinary example of a 21st century approach, which, at its core, has masterfully married the use of modern technology and old-fashioned GOTV efforts to spread a message of unity as the only hope for America. I am sure that the Obama campaign is benefitting from a terrible economy, but it has shown the audacity of hope, along with a deliberateness and style that the McCain cannot emulate. We, Barack's supporters, have been energized in ways that could not have been anticipated. This approach will be used everywhere in America. I am so glad that I am alive and living in these times. Like Dickens once said, it is the worst of times and the best of times.

However, we need to focus on getting the vote out - Palin's a distraction - someone we need to provide a few short Fact Bullet Points - and that's about it.
The bigger picture is that McCain is having to calm down his "mobs" - and I appreciate him taking ownership of this - sincerely, AND the fact that we're beginning to see double digit leads - and we may be taking Virginia and West Virginia.

But now, after everything that has transpired since her debut, Palin is really making me seriously nostalgic for the one and only, the all-original, queen of the Florida-recount... He asked the owner "How's business" and the owner replied that business "has been slow." He then posed a question to the owner by asking him "Who has been in control for the last eight years" in which the owner replied "Republicans." He then asked him who controlled the Congress for the last 6 out of 8 years to which the owner again replied "Republicans." He basically asked him how has that worked out for him and made a gesture to the effect of "if you keep bumping your head against a concrete wall" maybe you should change direction and vote Democratic. He told the owner "after we can't do any worse than the Republicans have done." The owner said he made a good point.

I thought that these things were against the law and those reponsible for them had to face justice. A man in uniform cheering on hate. I thought that it has all been illegal and they had to by law go to jail for being the leaders of these crowds, but I believe the country would be too shamed and they were allowing Maccain to go on with it. I willl start to plant myself in front of a police statio with signs if this don't stop. We need to demand justice; all the time we ned to insist on justice.

2) The investigating committee was bipartison and the majority are Republicans; plus they voted 12-0 to release the report.

If they have not as yet, they need to add to Barack's Secret Service Protection. Dear God forbid if anything happens to this great leader there will be riots all over America - and not just from African Americans. I'm Franco-American with blue eyeballs and I'll be out there with everyone.
Damn the lies of Palin and McCain. I'm damning the lies, not them. I never damn anyone to hell for fear that I'll be sent there too, but damn their lies.
They know friggin well that Obama was only 8 years old when this Ayers guy did his thing. They know damn well that many years later, Obama worked on a CHARITY BOARD with other republicans and democrats and a guy called Ayers who had repented his crimes.
Sarah and John have so incited crowds that it makes me sick. Sarah and John tell lies in their ads airing right now. So help me God, I wish them no harm, but please, God, send them back home, I pray.

Then, it seems that serving up death to our soldiers, terrorizing legal abortion clinics, anhilating(sp) hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqis, playing God with the death penalty, and on and on and on...are all fair game, dressed up in their hippocritical righteous cause of the day.
Palin's and McCain's (especially Palin) reckless tactics to whip their base into a frenzy of hate-filled and fear-based "support", in order to save a tanking campaign, is the most despicable, irresponsible, and unconscienable tactic of all.

Let's be clear here: This report does NOT carry the weight of criminal charges. The bipartisan Investigative Board cannot even levy those charges against the Governor. Note the use of the word "bipartisan". Alaska has a Republican-led Legislature. The authority to publish or even continue this investigation would not have occurred without the cooperation of Republican legislators in Alaska. Kinda makes it hard to prove it's politically motivated, eh? They'll still say it, but it makes them look all the more foolish.
Now, what the report DOES do is exactly what it intended: Shine the light of truth on what actually happened. Regardless of the moronic charges of a politicized investigation, even MORE, and concrete doubt, has been cast on Sarah Palin and her ability to govern. How can she claim to be an effective chief executive when her tenure is marked with flaws such as this? It begs the question of what else happened while she was putting lipstick on hockey pucks.......

Obviously this is a very educated base were up against. But you could see that this is not what McCain wants and he knows how bad it it is. I am very happy to see that he acknowledged that Obama is a decent family man and a citizen. All these clips show is that McCain supporters aren't really supporters of anything. There just against Obama. They hate him and now they are foaming at the mouth over it. At least over here we know were for something! A better future! better education! more jobs for the middle class! affordable health care! ending a war! Barack Obama! They are not for anything and that is why they can not win in November.

John McCain only did that because he was getting a new one ripped by other republicans and columnists. Coleman (R-Minn.) pulled out from joining McCain at his rally, so he could supposedly take the time to change his ads to positive from negative ones. Many, many have sent McCain the message to KNOCK IT OFF. He's still running his fear/hate/racist-based ads. McCain gets no pat on the back from me.

I completely understand his motives. But there are characters out there who would refuse to correct the tone because they know what the power of fear can do ie. Bush and Limbaugh. At least he is smart enough to try and correct it. Plus I've been to rallies, I think most people on the blog this morning have been to a rally. You can see how orchestrated these things are that the cameras don't show. I find it hard to believe any of that stuff is unscripted but it doesn't make it any less the true voice of the McCain campaign. A voice that obviously needed to be put in check!

Did John McCain actually make ONE GOOD suggestion?
As I see it, I think he actually did !
He said those of us past 70.5 shouldn't have to "take a dispersal" from an IRA now, since the stock values have plunged.
Maybe you young-uns' don't know, but if a person has owned an IRA from way-back-when, after 70.5 you MUST by law, take a certain amount out each year.
My puny little money-market IRA was worth about $15,000 when the slide started.
Now it's around $13,000 and still falling.
I would hope that I didn't HAVE to take a withdrawal until the value creeps back up!
But of course, he's the last person om earth to vote for as President, but still, he could introduce his idea as a Senator, and get it passed through Congress?

Good morning from sunny New Jersey, where it's going to be a gorgeous day and the beginning of our last weekend to register voters!
I just have to say how impressed I am with this campaign's organization- WOW! I am so excited to see that there are more than 100 events within 30 miles of my house this weekend alone- and I'm not even in a "battleground" state. I thought the campaign was phenomenal during the primaries, and now this tremendous effort just leaves me in awe. What dedication! Goes to show that we're leaving nothing to chance and We The People are hungry for change!
I'm on my way out to canvass today, tomorrow, and every weekend until the election. I'll also be stopping by the local Obama office to help out whenever I can. We can do this, but we have to all DO something if we're going to win! Please do what you can. If you can donate a little this morning in celebration of our amazing campaign and the incredible ground game we've got going on, please drop a little change in my fundraiser. Yes We Can!

I think perhaps the Secret Service went after McCain and he had to acquiesce about Barrack. I’ll bet Palin does too.
He sent Palin out with hate as a 'sacrificial lamb' figuring it wouldn’t come back to him but the hate that got stirred up did come back to him as witnessed by his own rally.
You can’t threaten a senator without the Secret Service getting involved in fact they are looking for those individuals IF they haven’t found them already. They will also be going after anyone who shouts out hate at a rally. It’s their job.
Let’s remember one of these two people will be the next president and they must be protected.
The Secret Service is already on the job for this. If you just saw the rally in Phil. You would notice eight SS men in back of Barrack and several in the audience. I’d say they have upped their protection due to what is going on. Good!!
The republicans should be ashamed, this is despicable. Can you imagine what a horrible president McCain would be, especially with Palin at his side? Wow!
Barracks rallies are filled with hope, McCain’s filled with hate. Which one would you want to see in the White House?
Easy question.

This morning I was reading a story about a 30 year reunion of the TV show Dallas, of which I and many of my friends were avid fans. I stopped watching after a crazy season was explained and dismissed by a dream "Bobbie" had had. Anywho, the thing that jumped out at me from this article was an item about Larry Hagman, on of the stars also of I Dream of Jeanie, this about his and his wife's farm:
"Their 44-acre spread in Ojai, Calif., is all-organic. Their home runs on solar power, which Hagman said knocked their electric bill from $40,000 a year to $13." (Oh yeah, it's organic, too!)
What?!? Are we nuts?!? We better hurry up and elect Barack Obama President of the United States so we can bail "US" out!
Twenty four days and praying.

Wall Street Journal has reported that the financial crisis can be blamed on Thomas Jefferson.
That is to say had Jefferson not let Alexander Hamilton's original federal bank close we wouldn't be in this mess. Alexander Hamilton, founder of the New York Post no less, famously killed in a duel in the same spot where he son had already been killed in a duel. Only he had a handle on what would be our present.
So reach back in time and grab Thomas Jefferson by the toe!

GAME NOT OVER YET OBAMA
At the risk of preaching to the quire. GREAT JOB OBAMA TEAM. Keep in mind the game is still going on and foot ball analogy, seconds left to play in the game. McCain has been throwing “Hale Mary’s” (Gov Pailin, Suspending his Campaign).
McCain’s only hale Mary left is a National Security” event. Whether it is on US soil or abroad. They have the resources and the Republican power to invent one. Such as “WOW we found Bid Laden…and Amelia Airheart ..or some global catastrophe. Be prepared for it. Have your best response to it already set. Test your response NOW with your focus groups and plan accordingly.
Now.. is there a chance that McCain won’t play the National Security card and lose gracefully? Yes, But nothing wrong with having a focus group tested response ready.
Just my 2 cents now I will go DONATE

Well, I was so happy to finally receive my First Edition Obama/Biden '08 merchandise package in the mail yesterday afternoon - 1 yard sign, 1 shirt, 1 car magnet and 5 pins.
I put up the yard sign at 5 pm and left for my second job.
Upon my return at 10 om, the sign was gone.
I reported it to my local police, an officer came over and he filed a report.
I'm really frustrated now. I don't know if a McCain supporter took it out spite, or whether a teenager took it as a prank, or even if another Obama supporter took it, etc.
I walked around in my neighborhood this morning but there was no sign to be seen anywhere -- McCain or Obama (ie. Massachusetts, not being a battleground state, most signs here are local ones, like for State Rep or State Senator).
Well, I still have my bumpers stickers affixed to my cars and my mailbox. I still wear the Obama shirts (both from the Obama store and MoveOn.org).
This is my first campaign where I've owned a house, where I could put up a yard sign (before that I lived in apartments and condos and couldn't put up a yard sign).

Rich,
Sorry to hear that.
I've waited almost a year & a half to get one & FINALLY managed to get one last week (matter of fact I bought (2) one for myself & one for my son who wanted one..he lives right across the street from a church that is his polling place).
I must say I am truly shocked that mine has lasted in my front yard for a almost a week now...but I did NOT put it close to the street.
It's about 2ft away from my front porch & door...but still very visable from the street.
Saw one the other day that I really got a kick out of..........the homeowner nailed his Obama sign to the tree in his front yard...about 20 feet off the ground !!!! :)

Hiya. Listen, I have a question that I can't find an answer to. In this case in '96, some Republican friends of mine are saying Obama is the cause of this housing crisis because he sued citibank, forcing them to make loans to people that couldn't prove they could pay the money back. Where can I go to info about it?

Well here's what bothers me. I used to be a Barack Hussein Obama supporter, until I found out about ACORN and Obama's working for them in 96 to sue mortgage businesses in order to force them to lend to shaky lenders. Kinda what started the crisis we're in now, right?
Add to the fact that he has given millions to ACORN to perpetrate the fraud that ACORN is now being sued for. HE'S MORE CORRUPT THAN THE REPUBLICANS! I will no longer vote for Obama!

OK, here’s my take on the hateful speeches coming from the McCain camp.
I would say they have put themselves in quite a corner.
When McCain asked Barrack to refute Lewis’ statements he is basically agreeing to tone down his own racism and more importantly, the racism of Sarah Palin.
This will put a muzzle on her and now McCain has no other avenue but to discuss the issues. He knows he is in a bad spot as he is being frowned upon by his own party members.
Sarah Palin isn’t capable of discussing issues and I expect the Secret Svc. Has also laid down the law to them also. So what do they do now?
Barrack by taking the high road, has made them both look very childish and inept as we see John McCain once again compromise his political position. (Sarah Palin never had one).
Once again we win!
