Last week we passed a milestone, crossing the 150,000 mark for events organized on My.BarackObama.com. With less than three weeks remaining in the election, MyBO is more active than ever, as grassroots supporters across the country are organizing on the ground, in their own communities, to help turn out the vote.
Yesterday over at TechPresident, Micah Sifry used the list of current MyBO events (over 10,000 at the time) to created a Google Earth mash-up which, with a little help from some friends, he then turned into the following -- a visualization of all of the upcoming events between now and Election Day:
These events represent the heart of one of the largest field operations in the history of American politics. In preparation for these final weeks, we've recently added new features and a new interface to the MyBO event tool:
In addition an easier to read layout, you can now sort events by date and by distance to your home. With hundreds of events taking place every single day (and thousands of events taking place every weekend) you can connect with other supporters no matter where you live. There's never been a better time to reach and find a local, or a local event, than right now. And there's never been more work do to.
