We're closing in on the halfway point to our goal of one million phone calls to voters by the close of polls on May 6th. The pace has picked up, but there are still many calls to make and many voters to reach.
If you ever doubted whether or not these calls can make a difference, here are two quick stories from the front lines:
Christine, one of our true phonebanking veterans, reported:
I've made 801 calls to Indiana now, and I tell you, those people are waiting until the LAST MINUTE to decide. So many people are engaged and really want to talk. My daily 100 calls took a good 50% longer to complete today because people were so chatty.Might I also add that I had a great time today calling from the "Call Women in Indiana" list. Those women today wanted to talk issues!Please set aside some time to make some calls. I really had more conversions today than any I can remember. And plenty of Obamacans!
And Emily from Maryland posted:
I just had several great phone calls with undecideds. I think I helped move them in an Obama direction — one took down the website info. People seem eager to talk! And folks seemed fed up with the lack of reporting on real issues and the over focus on "distractions."So — pick up the phone and do it! It is a great pick me up! Just reminds me how many smart caring Americans there are out there who really want to make our country better!YES WE CAN!
Voters in Indiana and North Carolina understand that issues matter, and that this election is too important to get bogged down in distraction. We have five days to go until Tuesday, and just over a half million calls to make.
