VOTE FOR BARACK OBAMA AS ONE OF TIME’S MOST INFLUENTIAL PEOPLE!!!

Link

Help try and get Barack Obama to THE NUMBER ONE SPOT!!!

When I made this post Barack Obama was sitting at 35 on the list.
He is now up to 14 thanks to you all (That is 21 spots we moved him working as a team).
It’s up to us to bring change so try to email 5 friends and get them to vote for Obama too.
There is many others on the list to vote for try and give a few other of your favorites a bump. Even Hillary Clinton is on there be nice and give her a bump too (She was at 195 when I looked so not even making the top 100)
Revrend Jeremiah Wright is also on the list and if you think he got a bum wrap by the Media poorly portraying who he really is, like I believe, give him a bump too (He was at 186 when I wrote this and is up to 165 now, I use this as my chance to stick it to the Media for not representing people as a whole and only abusing snippets of what people say.)

This is a small chance to show we are a movement and can make real changes happen by getting everyone you can all your Obama buddies to log in and vote!!!
By making him number one as the most influential it could open the door to skeptical voters who might give him a second look and reconsider giving him their vote.
___________
Yes We Can ….. Get him to #1 on Time’s most influential people!!!

It is time to ask yourself how much you want change and who represents that?

How badly do you want change? Do you have the courage to elect Senator Barack Obama? If you do- do something besides vote.

Make phone calls, talk to your undecided friends, ask your family. Wear Obama gear, put the bumper sticker ON the CAR, and give a friend a button. Knock on doors with other supporters or just your neighborhood. Ask your uncommitted Senators and Congresspeople for their endorsement. Write a letter to the editor, blog about your support, call into the talk shows. And instead of going to McDonalds help refuel the campaign with a $25 donation.

Please do not contact ABC.

Contacting, writing, calling or blogging with the MSM only lets them know they did something to get you to watch. That's what they want.

Ignore ABC. Read a book instead. Better yet, get out and donate some of your old books to some people that might not be able to buy them.

That is RIDICULOUS. We must contact ABC to voice our displeasure. We must make the way that they handled this debate into THE news story in the AM. E-mail MSNBC and CNN and let them know what you think of ABC's coverage. They would love to SMASH their competition. DO IT NOW!

What's that going to do?

The damage is done. Getting the story into other Main Stream outlets is FREE ADVERTISING for ABC.

That's counter productive to what you want to accomplish.

Ignoring the MSM is the only effective protest.

We need to use our energies for positive changes, not media wars that we cannot win.

I agree I think that we need to overload ABC with complaints. We have to let them know that we do not like their coverage, and threaten them that we will not watch their channel or visit their website....

Overloading ABC will only make their advertisers happy.

Use your energy for positive change. Media Warfare is not positive change. It's what they want so we are distracted from what we want.

We want better communities, better opportunities, and better policy. It's within our reach. Don't get distracted now.

The MSM does not care if we don't like they're coverage. They only care that we're watching. They don't make money on people liking they're coverage, they make their money off people paying attention.

ABC is not going to get any more advertising $$ because people called into them to complain. Networks make money by people watching their shows. I agree that if sufficient people call into complain and post comments on blogs that this "debate" was a sham, that itself will become the news story and ABC will get negative press from that. I actually suggest calling their rival networks to lodge your opinions(NBC and CBS) because they would love to hit ABC with this. This debate needs to be de-legitimized - otherwise one of the tabloid points they brought up will become the news item of the day tomorrow against Senator Obama.

YES THEY ARE.

They can show to their advertisers, look at the response we got! So then on the talk shows on sunday, advertisers know ABC can really generate some controversy and viewership. Seems like a good place ot advertise.

All they want is attention. That's all they need to make money.

Do you really think they give you all those avenues to contact them because they want to know what yo think? They want to know if you were paying attention or not. That's it.

The next thing I did to help was donate $200.00 immediately!! Thanks HRC and the two stooges!

p.s. Keith O. already teed off on them so it can be de-legitinized as the other stations love to bash each other.

A long time ago I wrote some comments about ABC's Jake Tapper. That cretin never writes a good story on Obama. I mean NEVER. Then I decided to never watch ABC anymore and I even boycotted Dysney. Because they are the owner of not only that crappy channel but they are the one who gives us Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity from ABC talk Radio not clear Channel.
You should not forget that they first who cam out with the Wright tapes with that pathetic and phony journalist name Diane Sawyer.

Just don't watch them
Re: Can someone please give me the number of ABC news so I can call and complain. PLEASE  |  Report to Admin
ABC made alot of money tonight, and they want another debate before the general election. If we voice our displeasure, they will be made aware that the chances of another debate on their network is slim. Writing and calling in your complaints is a GOOD idea.

I know I'll never watch another one, or anything else on ABC. They WOULD care if enough people actually did stop watching them. Someone made a good point about any "victories" or talking points HRC tries to take away from this won't count if it's determined to be a farce. so, let the other channels bash them for us!

ABC wants to do another "debate"? no more debates...the substantive issues have already been addressed. senator obama should focus in on the win for the nomination and coming campaign against mcsame with the strategy that works - listening, educating and motivating.

the senator and his top campaign advisors can not assume that any of the media networks are seeking an honest discourse on what it will take to get this country headed on the right track. it appears they have all gone Faux.

I think Adam is right, complaining to ABC doesn't really get much done, BUT complaining to their advertisers ALWAYS gets something done :) So, rewind your TIVO's, write down each advertiser and then voice your opinion with the advertisers and then perhaps something will be "done" that way. Otherwise, chalk it up to ABC just being a terrible network...

complaing to an advertiser is one level of protest.. returning product is a whole 'nother level. of course return policies have to be considered, but product returns where possible speak more than a complaint.

This being said, I have yet to hear a specific bias example other than 'general bias'.. feel free to spell out specific areas where you thought it was unfair.

thanks,

Sad. Very Sad. I recorded the debate because I was going to miss the beginning. By the time the moderators had finished with the 'tabloid' issues, 50 minutes had passed. The debate was a remarkable waste of time.

You could see the disgust on BO's face and posture and in his words that discussing these issues doesn't help the American people. I think he tried to heighten the level of the debate. My sense was that the moderators wanted to catch the candidates in a "gotcha" moment. And if not, they want to catch them in the future - "but that's a tax increase!" "so you know better than the Generals" "but you said this or that" Very little of the first hour contributed to our dialogue.

The second hour was better, but still fell short of expectations. They asked the gas price question about 97 min into my recording. I believe I will be writing to Disney to let them know that I expect better out of ABC News and will boycott ABC News 100%, and boycott ABC as well. I have a couple of small children so I can't reject and denounce the Disney Channel. :-( ABC Family is out, too; and I would watch that from time to time. Can anyone say what other stations are a part of the Disney/ABC family?

Barack did fine. No game changers. And better to get any slime out in the open now and let it get aired out some before the general election. Barack needs to have a couple of big rallies to show some momentum going into next Tues.

Pennsylvania voters are you going to accept the politics of tit-for-tat and are you concerned about 21st century McCarthyism where one is blamed for all previous actions of anyone you may have met in your life? Or are you ready to start a new chapter in Washington and say "Not This Time!!" Vote for Obama, Pennsylvania, and show America that we are capable of voting for the better leader, better Commander-in-Chief, better defender of our civil rights, better representative of our interests abroad, better steward of our journey to energy independence, better enabler to higher education for our youth, better protector of our Social Security benefits, and, in summary, the better person.

YES YOU CAN!! I am the mother of two, now teenagers. We have never had cable, and if we did would not have had the Disney Channel. You can get the great movies at the library for nothing. You can get other great movies and shows at the library too. Saves you money at the same time. Also gives more time for playing games with your kids. Yup. YES YOU CAN do without Disney products in your home, and other television products. Remember, there was a time before Walt existed. There was a time before TV existed. There was a time before electricity existed. And here we all are to testify to the fact that our ancestors survived, and survived very well, thank you.

1. Stephanopoulos did not disclose at the start that he was Communications Director at the WH and worked for HRC. At least CNN discloses that Carville works for HRC when he is on. Most people do not know about Stephanopoulos' connections with HRC and there was an obligation to disclose.

2. Gibson constantly interrupted BO but never interrupted HRC.

3. When BO mentioned that Pres. Clinton pardoned two Weather Underground people, one of the moderators said to HRC that she did not have to answer that point.

4. When HRC talked about what she would do if middle east countries other than Israel were attacked, this was big news but no follow up.

5. When HRC said yes, BO could win, no follow up as to why she has been saying something very different to superdelegates.

6. For Stephanopoulos to get questions from Hannity rather than thinking of questions himself shows much about him.

7. When BO was asked about Rev. Wright, he mentioned that HRC's former minister agreed with and defended Wright. No one asked her to disavow the comments.

Bill, I don't have Tivo and can't go back so am glad to have your response to Lee who was asking what were particular instances of bias.

All your points seem to resonate with my memory of the debate except in #3, the moderators saying she didn't have to answer about Bill's pardon of the Weather Underground people.

Am I remembering correctly that they had both had their turns to answer that question? And that the moderator was just asking whether she wanted to use some of the extra time they had said she had on the clock to respond...and she decided not to use her extra time in this way.

I could be wrong. That's the way I remember it.

Only a small difference, but if your general list is to stand as a description of real bias, best not to have things there that could be discredited.

Thanks for bringing together these points.

My busy middle-aged self just has limited time and energy. I'm going to focus on using that time and energy in ways that constructively build Obama's presidential campaign. Fired up and ready to go. Yes we can!

It will indeed make a difference. These two behaved in an extremely unprofessional manner tonight. They should have just let Sean Hannity or Bill O'Reilly do the moderating! We do need to contact them and let them know that we will not stand for this kind of bias.

MSNBC and other news outlets will get the viewers!

The problem is that we no longer have an independent press! This is part of what the founders hoped would be checks to government excess. The press is now owned by large multi-national companies who have undue influence on government and use the news media to deflect any real change.

Yes we should contact the news media.

Adam, I see your point but would like you to understand ours. If we adopted the attitude that writing and letting people know our thoughts wasn't worth anything, then why have we written all these letters to the DNC, Dean, Pelosi and various SDs all these months?

For those who don't have time I understand; I'm retired and disabled myself. But that doesn't mean writing is all I've done. I've maxed out, written letters, phone banked and last week went to NC to volunteer for GOTV and canvass. (I might be paying for it a little this week :-) but this is too important to me. Everyone should do what makes them feel useful and better, regardless of the results.

Wait til tomorrow when all those endorsements make the PA papers (some did come in the afternoon). It's been a good week for BHO!! Let's be grateful for the positive things that happened!

I stopped watching TV years ago. I see fewer ads this way, and I get less stressed out when things like this happened.

I missed the debate, but it doesn't matter much. Most people are more influenced by what the media says about the debate afterwards than what actually happened at the debate.

If you want to do anything to help. Donate.

If you want to do something else, write to papers and the media so that the post-debate coverage repeatedly talks about how negative Clinton was and how positive Obama stayed.

The Clinton campaign is gambling that the post-debate coverage will say that Obama crumbled or lost or something.

We want the post-debate coverage to say that Clinton is getting desperate and the debate proves it.

In boycotting Charles and George we will direct our effort on who really deserves this boycott. They will lose ratings and therefore their sponsors and hopefully we will be able to send a message to the MSM that we are here and our future is more important than they think.

Please join us on this fight, but do not stop on calling and reaching other people for the movement of the people!

MSNBC = TEXT 622639 OBAMA
CNN
CBS
maybe even FOXNEWS

WE HAVE SERIOUS PROBLEMS WITH THE ECONOMY & NOT ONE QUESTION RELATED TO NAFTA

NO QUESTIONS HELPING THE AMERICANS LEARN ABOUT REAL AMERICAN CONCERNS.

OBAMA WAS STRONG ON ALL QUESTIONS RELATED TO REAL ISSUES. BELIEVE ME OBAMA IS FIGHTING MORE THAN JUST HILLARY, IT IS AN ORGANIZED CORRUPT SYSTEM.

OBAMA WAS 100% A GENIUS TO ENGAGE THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, BECAUSE WE CAN OPENLY SEE HOW A FULL SYSTEM WILL SCREW YOU OVER, BUT AS BARACK SAYS "YES, WE CAN" IGNORE ABC!!

THE QUESTIONS CAME FROM FOXNEWS/ MR. HANNITY

Yes, we can show our strength before the election

OBAMANATION LET'S START ROLLING UP OURSELVES NOW, THE SYSTEM HAS SHOWN THEIR FACE.

Actually, YES WE SHOULD call and fax and email and make a lot of annoying noise. I used to work for the "crap masters" and they DO care about a lot of negative publicity. Remember, they are owned by Disney now and Disney is still struggling with negative image problems.

A massive backlash does several good things:

1) It crashes the entire email and voicemail system - afffectively stalling business for the entire building.

2) It scares the hell out of potential advertisers. Scared advertisers equals lost revenue. Given the way they like to sell commercials this is big.

3) It gives their competition an opening to slaughter, lampoon, humiliate, etc. ABC News.

This is an opportunity they will not pass up because Networks have to bid on "exclusive" coverage slots for large events (like Olympics, etc) and we all know there are some MAJOR events about to happen.

DO NOT REMAIN SILENT. CALL, FAX, EMAIL, AND THEN GET ALL YOUR FRIENDS TO DO THE SAME. LET'S CRASH THE NETWORK SERVER.

Adam is right.

Re: this debate: I thought the real eyebrow raiser was Mrs. Clinton's commitment to 'massive retaliation' if Iran attacks Israel after she mumbled about first developing a security umbrella for all U.S. allies in the Middle East.

I just spent too much of the past week dealing with an anti-Obama blogger who has been copying blog posts from some Groups for the past year, claiming that everything written in this website is under official Obama editorial control, and that high point scorers are close advisors to the Obama campaign. his blogs feed into the entire right wing media world. Whether anyone is paying attention to him is unknown to me. I was just trying to explain how this website works, without any help from the Official campaign staff, with whom I have no means of contact.

This was my first view of how ugly the lies are out there, made worse by anyone being able to copy any of our words and claim Obama approved every word.

Can you all at least try to follow Senator Obama's model of respectful dialog, and at least stop calling Mrs. Clinton names?

Venting anger is justifiable, but always ask if you want your words printed on the front page of any newspaper before you hit "Publish Comment"

Thanks!

By the way, Al Giordano at ruralvotes.org had a fine blog on the ABC debate.

No, Adam is not right. He is very wrong. We have made a difference before by complaining about bias of this sort and we should everytime the do it. Even after this election season. The news media is a large part of the problem. We wouldn't be in this war had they done their job without bias to the administration.

I am sick of it. WE NEED TO BOYCOTT, CANVASS, MAKE CALLS ALSO, BUT THIS IS PART OF OUR RESPONSIBILITY TOO. WE ARE TO HOLD ALL PUBLIC FIGURES ACCOUNTABLE!
