Yes! I've been writing to the MSM about that but so far no one picked it up. McCain won 1% in the WV caucus in Feb! One Percent. Here is a letter to the editor I submitted on this point to the NY Times this morning:

"Your news analysis of the Democratic primary in West Virginia correctly concludes that this loss by Barack Obama does not foreshadow a similar loss to John McCain in the general election, even if it does highlight his weakness among blue collar voters. The numbers underscore that point: West Virginia held a Republican caucus on February 5th, in which Sen. McCain received 1% of the vote, with all eighteen delegates awarded to Mike Huckabee. Nine additional delegates were awarded to Sen. McCain in yesterday’s election, where he received 76% of the vote.

Sen. McCain seemed to struggle mightily in West Virginia as long as his rivals were in the race, but nevertheless consolidated his party base after becoming the nominee. There is no reason to doubt that the same will happen among Democrats once the nominee is chosen. If you factor in that Democratic voters outnumbered Republicans by more than three to one yesterday, it looks like Sen. McCain should be the one to worry about West Virginia in the fall."

HRC won PA by 9.2% which does not round to 10% as commonly done by the mathematically inept MSM. It rounds to 9% and as such this does not constitute a double digit win on HRC's part.

It's great information to have and thank you for taking the time to put it together, but I'm wondering what standard was applied to come up with 10% for PA since the official results are 9.3%? None of the Obama victories on the listing are less than 11%, so the rounding wouldn't be an issue towards double digits for any. Just wondering...

The standard is, how much percentage each candidate got, rounded. Those figures are then subtracted for the net gain. Barack had no 10% differentials, he jumped from 9, straight to eleven. Write me a note passing your Email address, and I'll send you the whole spreadsheet, and you can nail the particulars down to your heart's content. Cheers.

I was going to wait until Clinton had conceded the nomination to write about this, but judging from the NARAL thing that’s going on today, it’s time to do it now.

We need to give Clinton’s supporters a little time to mourn her loss before we engage them. We cannot and should not expect them to jump on board the O-Train the moment the nomination is settled. They are going to go through the same stages of mourning that anyone goes through who has lost a loved one – denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance – and until they get to the last one, they are not going to be interested in being accosted by us trying to get them to unite around Obama.

If we give them their space, then most of them will eventually come around, regardless of what the silly polls say about how many of them claim they won’t vote for Obama if Clinton loses. Believe me, when the reality sinks in, the numbers will change.

However, approaching them too soon won’t make the numbers change sooner. Instead, it has the potential to solidify their opposition to Obama and their decision not to vote for him in November.

In short, if we don’t give the Clinton supporters time and space to mourn, it will hurt Obama.

What’s going on today with NARAL and Emily’s List is an excellent example of what I’m talking about. Many of the women who are Clinton’s core supporters are also NARAL’s core supporters. They are still in denial about Clinton’s loss, and they are angry at what they see as NARAL’s betrayal (note: denial and anger, the first two stages of morning; the stages can overlap). It is not at all surprising that there are tons of angry comments about the endorsement on the NARAL Web site. We need to be very, very careful about what we post there. In particular, do not engage the people posting the angry comments. Posting polite messages expressing your support for Obama and thanking NARAL for their endorsement probably wouldn’t do too much damage, although I don’t even recommend that. Let them calm down, and they’ll get over it. Inflame them, and they might not.

You can be sure that NARAL knew what they were getting into when they decided to endorse Obama. They’ve got their flame-proof underwear on, and they don’t need you to

It's not going to happen. And it isn't even an article! Edwards has made himself very clear. Why do people care now? He said on last Sunday's shows that he will wait until there is a nominee, and that they don't need his endorsement, that it won't help. He is waiting so that he will get a Cabinet Position created for his plan to end poverty, and he said he has spoken with ALL THREE of the candidates, including McCain, and they have each been encouraging about this. So that's the important thing to J.E., is that whomever the next POTUS is, they will create a specific Cabinet position for his agenda.

Why are we so excited about an Edward endorsement anyway? It really doesn't count for much imo...the time has long past when Edward's endorsement was important. I have a lot more regards for the likes of Sen. Chris Dodd who endorsed Barack ages ago and particularly Gov. Richards who showed great courage to endorse Barack at the time. Edwards has shown himself to weak by not coming out early for either Barack or Hillary

Group Asking School Board To Ban Confederate Flag County-Wide

ALLEGANY COUNTY, MD - A group of black leaders is going before the Allegany County School Board to request an all-out ban of the Confederate flag.

Back in February, the principal of Fort Hill High School banned the flag from being displayed on school grounds amid major racial tension that led to several student suspensions.

Tuesday night, a group of community and church leaders plans to ask the school board for a permanent, county-wide ban of the Confederate flag in all public schools.

This is the board's final meeting of the school year.

OMG!

Last night one of my calls to West Virginia also told me that the Hillary Volunteers were saying horrible things---such as to the one I was speaking with when she said she was thinking of Obama, the Hillary volunteer said and I quote: "God Save Us"!

It worked in our favor though! LOL

I have been calling quite a few states over the campaign and I would never ever bring up a dis about the opponent only record issue facts in contrast and only when it was absolutely necessary. But never a personal dis.

My called person also said her friends were saying the same thing and that was in Charleston.

Boy they really use all out means and are most disrespectful. I hate getting calls into my home from anyone!--so I use that as a measuring stick and really make sure these folks are comfortable by my calling at all!---including answering machines. If leaving a message I also say that I am sorry not to have reached them in person that I would have loved to have talked with them about BO and then just leave a short positive message--maybe even apologizing that I took up message space or something to that effect. Even if goofy at least it is as polite as can be. We are stewards of this campaign and must act accordingly in direct contact with voters.
