From the Indianapolis Star:
Hoosiers will get their chance this year to hear directly from Sen. Barack Obama on Saturday when the Democratic presidential candidate comes to Indianapolis. No details were available by late this afternoon on the time or location of the campaign stop, nor how people might be able to attend. ... Indiana voters — and particularly the 72 delegates at stake in the May 6 primary election — have taken on a new importance asObama is waging a close contest with Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton for the Democratic nomination. With neither having the 2,025 delegates necessary to claim the nomination, every primary is essential. Shannon Gilson, a spokeswoman for the Obama campaign, said details of the trip weren't final. But Obama "will campaign aggressively in Indiana," she said. "We have an energized base of support, and we're starting to build our organization." Kip Tew, a longtime Democratic insider in Indiana politics who is coordinator of Obama's campaign here, said that "clearly, we are very excited he's coming to town. It shows he's going to take Indiana very seriously."
