I have been traveling state to state with this campaign since November. So far I've been to New Hampshire, South Carolina, Georgia, Texas, heading up to Pennsylvania, with hopes of campaigning in Oregon and Montana. I am your typical, starving college student. I read that Hillary Clinton is taking some responsibility for bringing peace to Ireland! I was born in Scotland just after the second world war ended and I can assure you, that as a Catholic, I witnessed the tremendous difficulties the Irish people dealt with during their attempts to free themselves from British and protestant domination. However, in keeping with Obama's philosophy of speaking to your enemies, the good people of Northern Ireland did just that. They put aside their differences and today Northern Ireland has a booming economy and a peaceful and happy populace. For Clinton to even suggest that she is somewhat responsible for this, however small, is an enormous insult to the thousands of Irish men, women and children who died for peace. Shame on you Clinton!!

Hillary Clinton won big victories Tuesday night in Ohio, Texas and Rhode Island. But she's now even further behind in the race for the Democratic nomination. How could that be? Math. It's relentless.

To beat Barack Obama among pledged delegates, Clinton now needs even bigger margins in the 12 remaining primaries than she needed when I ran the numbers on Monday--an average of 23 points, which is more than double what she received in Ohio.

Superdelegates won't help Clinton if she cannot erase Obama's lead among pledged delegates, which now stands at roughly 134. Caucus results from Texas aren't complete, but Clinton will probably net about 10 delegates out of March 4. That's 10 down, 134 to go. Good luck.

I've asked several prominent uncommitted superdelegates if there's any chance they would reverse the will of Democratic voters. They all say no. It would shatter young people and destroy the party.

Hillary's only hope lies in the popular vote-a yardstick on which she now trails Obama by about 600,000 votes. Should she end the primary season in June with a lead in popular votes, she could get a hearing from uncommitted superdelegates for all the other arguments that she would make a stronger nominee. (Wins the big states, etc.). If she loses both the pledged delegate count and the popular vote, no argument will cause the superdelegates to disenfranchise millions of Democratic voters. It will be over.

Projecting popular votes precisely is impossible because there's no way to calculate turnout. But Clinton would likely need do-overs in Michigan and Florida (whose January primaries didn't count because they broke Democratic Party rules). But even this probably wouldn't give her the necessary popular vote margins.

Remember, Obama's name wasn't even on the Michigan ballot when voters there went to the polls. Even if he's trounced there (and Michigan, won by Jesse Jackson in 1988, has a large African-American vote in its primary), Obama would still win hundreds of thousands of popular votes. This is also an argument for why Obama may end up preferring a primary to a caucus in Michigan. (Obama has done better in caucuses).

Florida, with its heavy population of elderly and Jewish voters, might be a better place for Hillary to close the popular vote gap. But even if you assume she does five points better than her double-digit win there in the meaningless February primary (where no one campaigned), she would still fall short.

I'm no good at math, but with the help of "Slate’s Delegate Calculator" I've once again scoped out the rest of the primaries. In order to show how deep a hole she's in, I've given her the benefit of the doubt every week. That's 12 victories in a row, bigger in total than Obama's run of 11 straight. And this time I've assigned her even larger margins than I did before in Wyoming, North Carolina, Indiana and Kentucky.

So here we go again:

Let's assume that on Saturday in Wyoming, Hillary's March 4 momentum gives her an Ohio-style 10-point win, confounding every expectation. Next Tuesday in Mississippi, where African-Americans play a big role in the Democratic primary, she shocks the political world by again winning 55-45.

Then on April 22, the big one-Pennsylvania-and it's a Hillary blow-out: 60-40, with Clinton picking up a whopping 32 delegates. She wins both of Guam's two delegates on May 3 and Indiana's proximity to Illinois does Obama no good on May 6. The Hoosiers go for Hillary 55-45 and the same day brings another huge upset in a heavily African-American state. Enough blacks desert Obama to give North Carolina to Hillary in another big win, 55-45, netting her seven more delegates.

May 13 in West Virginia is no kinder to Obama, and he loses by double digits, netting Clinton two delegates. Another 60-40 landslide on May 20 in Kentucky nets her 11 more. The same day brings Oregon, a classic Obama state. Ooops! He loses there 52-48. Hillary wins by 10 in Montana and South Dakota on June 3 and the scheduled primary season ends on June 7 in Puerto Rico with another big Viva Clinton! Hillary pulls off a 60-40 landslide, giving her another 11 delegates.

Given that I've put not a thumb but my whole fist on the scale, this fanciful calculation gives Hillary the lead, right? Actually, it makes the score 1,625 to 1,584 for Obama. A margin of 39 pledged delegates may not seem like much, but remember, the chances of Obama losing state after state by 20-point margins are slim to none.

So no matter how you cut it, Obama will almost certainly end the primaries with a pledged delegate lead, courtesy of all those landslides in February. What happens then? Will Democrats come together before the Denver Convention opens in late August?

We know that Hillary is unlikely to quit. This will leave it up to the superdelegates to figure out how to settle on a nominee. With 205 already committed to Obama, he would need another 200 uncommitted superdelegates to get to the magic number of 2025 delegates needed to nominate. But that's only under my crazy pro-Hillary projections. More likely, Obama would need about 50-100 of the approximately 500 uncommitted superdelegates, which shouldn't be too difficult.

But let's say all the weeks of negative feeling have taken a toll. Let's say that Clinton supporters are feeling embittered and inclined to sit on their hands. It's not too hard to imagine prominent superdelegates asking Obama to consider putting Hillary on the ticket.

This might be the wrong move for him. A national security choice like Sen. Jim Webb, former Sen. Sam Nunn or retired Gen. Anthony Zinni could make more sense. But if Obama did ask Clinton, don't assume she would say no just because she has, well, already served as de facto vice president for eight years under her husband. (Sorry, Al).

In fact, she would probably say yes. When there's a good chance to win, almost no one has ever said no. (Colin Powell is the exception). In 1960, when the vice-presidency was worth a lot less, Senate Majority Leader Lyndon Johnson gave up his powerful position to run with John F. Kennedy.

How about Clinton-Obama? Nope. The Clintonites can spin to their heart's content about how big March 4 was for them. How close the race is. How they've got the Big Mo now.

Ben, if everyone showed up for a caucus in PR on June 7th, they would be a week late.

There is a typo on the DNC information about the PR caucus. Also, PR is considering having a primary vote rather than caucus. It is likely to change to a primary. In addition, the last poll i read about had PR leaning towards Clinton.

55 delegates to be awarded in the primary/caucus in PR.. second highest to PA i believe. 63 delegates in total including the so called superdelegates.

anyway, PR doesn't vote in the general election, but they do vote in the primary (yes, it's stranger than the TX two step folks, welcome to Puerto Rico!).

In the tight primary race for delegates, PR offers an opportunity for either candidate to reap large rewards within a small geographic area.

PR was not considered a major player.. it's not much use in the general election, and comes so late in the primary process (JUNE 1ST) that in most election cycles it's merely a formality for the democratic party.

Whichever candidate realises the untapped potential in PR will seize the day in PR. Hopefully Obama will visit first,and set the stage for Clinton to play defense and try to catch up.

I read this article the other day. The television media down plays this math reality. They want to keep this campaign going until Puerto Rico. Ridiculous. Let's keep collecting delegates. When Gore, Edwards and Richardson decide to speak up it won't even matter. The superdelegates must support the will of the people, i.e. pledged delegates. VIVA OBAMA!

Who are we kidding?

If what Hillary needs to do to win the nomination is to Steal the SuperDelegates.. that's what she'll do..

She's already trying to set things up by saying things like , Well maybe that's where this is headed and we'll have to "DECIDE" who will be at the top of the ticket... ( Another way to try and weasal into the top seat by striking a back door deal with Obama, because she knows she's not going to win).

PA , where I was born and raised and thankfully left after 40 years, will show you how this game works.... They are going to do everything possible to steal the nomination.. Trust me on this.. Obama needs to win EVERY small state leading up to PA and there will be nothing they can do.. But trust me they are going to try and claim a mandate by attempting to win PA and claiming that Michigan and Florida would undoubtedly go Clinton without ever having a vote.

Guarantee it...and then SHE'll demand to be on the ticket and try to talk him into letting her go first... which he should reject immediately.

the results of anything FL is capable of producing will i guarantee, be bizarre. And there will be reasons. I fully expect FL to muck it up furhter.

Why?

I've lived in Tallahassee (capital) since 2002 and now work for the state.

It's a great job, which I'm thankful for. I love the nature and climate here. Naturally speaking, it's intense and the nearby ecosystem along the north Gulf shores as well as communities are gems and places to be proud of, very rich in unique history. So FL has its positives, which would be better served under Obama style politics.

But current Florida leadership will find a way to muddy the waters.

That's just my opinion.

Obama is a man of integrity. I believe that his principles would make it impossible for him to put Hillary as his VP on the ticket.
When "the end justifies the means" is what bolsters ones actions, the final result is failure. Even if it were politically correct for Obama to run with her as his VP, it would soil his record for the rest of his life. WOULD IT NOT ALSO GUARANTEE HIS PHYSICAL DEATH? If after having been elected he were assassinated, she would take over and have her wish to become the US first woman President.

i think i've posted on this before....so here goes again.

the petition is a really really bad idea for a number of reasons, here are three.

First, a petition is basically a statement saying X number of people support the petition. If the number of folks supporting it is less than half the total democrates, you add fuel to the argument that the opposite of the petition is true. (it's not logically true, but you add fuel nonetheless). So you set yourself up so you have to score a touchdown to win the game when we didn't need the petition to begin with.

second, The primaries are the petition. To suggest that the rules of the primary don't matter and should be ignored by granting some quasi status to any petition subverts the purpose of the primary, namely the proces to select a nominee. If you promote a petition and claim it should have status despite it not part of the present rules for primaries, then you can't argue that FL and MI should not change the rules at this point either. With the football analogy, why take a risky pass when you are ahead and just have to run out the clock to win the game? this petition is like a hail mary, only the team tossing it is already ahead! The coach would be fired, the quarterback benched and who knows what else if a team did that in football. Though this is not a 'game', the anaology is in my opinion valid to make the point. Obama is ahead in the primaries.. THAT IS THE PETITION we should be concerned with.

which brings us to the most important point. Instead of what I view as a silly time wasting petition that has no standing and can only backfire on Obama, why not spend that same energy getting out the vote, networking for upcoming primaries and preparing for the general election?

I've watched space and time being taken up with this petition thing for days.. and posted on it before. I sometimes wonder, no offense intended, who is on who's team here. argh. We don't need to make a risky play that could cost us the game when we are approaching securing the nomination as we are.

So i'll say it more directly now. what exactly are you trying to do with this petition? what's the point?

How and were do I sign? I wish they would ask to see her campaign books as well for that loan!

Now I watched Bill Clinton do a rally in Miss. but unfortunately CNN decide to go to there debate they were having. But I believe Bill Clinton was talking about the electorial college and how powerful it is. I wish I heard more,but if he was telling those supportes that they need the electorial college vote that is a sharpe contras to what he said when he ran for the President claiming he had the popular vote. There may be something there we can use if somebody saw the whole thing.

Also one of the reporters stated that when the Media(tabloids) get a complaint that they are to hard on one candidate then the other they try to correct that so less start complaining and ask why they didn't bring up the Canada news paper artical of Clinton contacting them over NAFTA.

One more thing Bill Clinton was complaining to his wifes supporters about how the economy is and how we borrow money from four other countries and how trade is not going well for us etc.
Well the powers to be need to look at that cause he and his wife praised NAFTA and now he is complaining about it. Basically they pushed this through and now it is hurting America. Also the countries that he said we borrow from is China, Korea, and I think the other two are Japan and oil producing countries. Well China was the country where under his watch they were stealing
missle technology, and he and his wife were being greased by that Chinamen, remember. Maybe we can use that, I don't know the facts if someone could look these up. There is alot of bagage there in the closets of the Clintons and it's time to get our fingers alittle dirty espicialy leading up to PENN.

Brandi you're right; he's been mia. To conteract the clinton attacks, Obama needs to write HIS campaign's narrative. I'm not saying to make personal attacks against her, but he should highlight what the benchmarks are in the contests, instead of giving her the space and airtime to set the standards. Are you a Hillary supporter? If I recall, this is a complaint people made about her regarding her not speaking to states that she had lost in. You come across as though you are complaining. Disloyalty begins with a complaint and then turns into betrayal. Senator Obama's supporters know that he is thankful and that it is not his nature to ignore people. He always thanks his supporters rather he wins or not. If he hasn't made an appearance as of yet, I sure there is a good reason. Be patient!

Bill Clinton is running with this "Mark Penn Strategy" -- Remember, they do nothing by accident. The strategy is to nudge those still on the fence (this started with WY and is being ratched up for MS. They are targeting those who can't decide -- who like both Barack and Hillary; and by planting in these voters' minds the idea that if Hillary wins then at least Obama can be VP, it makes it easier for them to "decide" and therefore, they vote Clinton. It's purely tactical. And sadly, it is misleading voters (on purpose).

Both of the Clinton's are pandering this "joint Ticket" proposition in an attempt to sway the Obama supporters to come to their side and rally behind her. They hope that by putting this out there in public people will flock to her, especially the Independents and the Undecideds. It is pure political manuevering on their part. In fact, IF it were to happen, I would not be surprised if she reneged on her offer when it came time to announce her running mate.

Either way, I hope and trust that Barack would not fall for such a scam. I have heard him say he is running for PRESIDENT, not VP. I trust that he would also not ask her to be his VP, as she represents the worst in the "old politics" of Washington DC.

Bill Clinton stated today in MS that their joint ticket would be unstoppable against McCain. I would rather see Barack concede to her this time around and plan for a future run for the Presidency in 2012 or even 2016, than line up with Clinton.

Kathy, I think Obama needs to 're-stress' the point in Mississippi tomorrow that he is in the lead, has more delegates, more popular vote, and is running for President - that, at this point, why, when he is winning, would he think 'VP'? He made a good point yesterday in Wyoming that he's running for President, so that is what he is focused on! Needs to bring that to Mississippi to put a stop to the Clinton 'rumor-mill'!

I have been traveling state to state with this campaign since November. So far I've been to New Hampshire, South Carolina, Georgia, Texas, heading up to Pennsylvania, with hopes of campaigning in Oregon and Montana.

Should we really pledge not to vote for HRC if she wins? I have supported Barack from the day he announced, have given $$$, have made calls & canvassed in 2 states....and I think he is a far superior choice to her. I love the fact that he has a background in community organizing and that he listens before making decisions. I appreciate his candor and his willingness to talk with adversaries and not demonize them. In contrast, I think Hillary is absolutely wrong and disappointing in her approach and her treatment of Barack and is taking for granted that Democrats will vote for her in Novemver. That being said, I cannot today say categorically that I will refuse to vote for her in November. I am afraid of John McCain and another 4 years of Republican economic, military, foreign policy, and civil liberties decisions. I totally disagree with their policies. Does her attitude outweigh McCain and his Republican policies?

Hillary is making comments so that she can continue putting Obama on the offense thereby attempting to soil his persona across the U.S.A. I also believe that the Florida/Michigan voting catastrophe was part of the Clinton/Republican strategy to have Clinton and McCain as the final candidates.

I am from Texas and I also believe that the news stations, the Clintons, and the Republicans piled on the negatives against Obama this past week for their own purposes.... The news stations...to try to off-set the appearance of favoring Obama and ratings; the Clintons to get votes; and the Republicans to give McCain an opportunity to unite the party....

No...I will NOT vote for Hilary no matter what...and although I am a Republican, I will also NOT vote for McCain.

Guys, you don't have to vote Republican. What I think alot of us will do ( I know I will) is simply write in Baracks name.

I can't technically vote Rep. either but Hillary is worse to me at this point.
I actually view her as a traitor to the Dem. Party with her comments ie: she has experience, McCain has experience and all Obama has is a speech he gave in 2002.
She is endorsing McCain over someone in her own party because she is so selfcentered she would prefer the Dems lose if she isn't the candidate.

Listen Bryan, I would love to sign your petition. I'll be honest, so you'll understand where I'm coming from. I have come to loathe Hillary Clinton. I think she is everything we need to recover from in American government. That said, if the nightmare scenario occurs and she gets the nomination, I'll have to go ahead and vote for her. I'll probably sob out loud as I pull the lever. But I haven't yet seen that Hillary would be as much a threat to human life or the environment as McCain would be. Mine is not a plea for us all to hold hands and sing "Feelings"; it's a gut-wrenching acceptance of the harsh realities of the world. We cannot afford to allow John McCain in the White House, even if it means we must vote for the most Machiavellian politician of my lifetime.

I would love to take it all out on Hillary Clinton, and I have a plan for doing just that. But we can't take it out on the children who would be killed by John McCain bombs, or the untold damage the environment would suffer under four more GOP years. We can't do it, people, tempting as it would be.

I will pick my times to make Hillary's life miserable, regardless of whether she wins the nomination. When I get the chance, and can do so with minimal risk of collateral damage, I will participate in holding her to account at every turn. She's going to live as if in prison, because we're going to watch her every move. Revenge, as Khan said in Star Trek, is a dish best served cold. But my revenge cannot help to victimize the defenseless. We're supposed to be the smart ones, folks, human beings who can appreciate deferred gratification. Let's be smart, and let's be effective, and let's make sure when we strike (in a peaceful way), it's surgical.

Sorry, but I agree with Don. Like him, I would continue to view her as unethical and unscrupulous and I would cast my vote weeping with strong doubts that she will be able to accomplish anything at all in her policies and the knowledge that she will likely bring shame to the nation at some point, but I could not take the chance of 100 years in Iraq. That being said, it will not come to this, because we are winning and we will continue to win. It does not have to be a choice between the lesser of two evils. Don I understand what you are saying, but I am sorry I can't stand by while someone perverts the process. If she steals this from Obama, then there is always Nader. I think people need to send a message. A message to our children that a new kind of politics is needed. And seriously Don, I don't think McCain has a better shot to becoming President than any of the other candidates. He is hot tempered and lacking any knowledge on the economy, all things that will cost him in the general election.

We have to be more organized and keep on doing what we have been doing. If we have to, we need to look to Colorado and we need to be ready to be out there in numbers to show that won't let them take the vote away from the candidate that the people have chosen.

I'm just saying that when November comes, if Obama is not on the ballot (he will be!), we'll need to consider all the ramifications of that vote. I signed the petition because I do not believe HRC is less of a warmongerer than McCain. In fact, I actually think HRC cares less about military families and less about having an ethical reputation. Personally, I have never heard her speak out against Guantanamo as strongly as Obama & McCain.
I believe HRC will start pre-emptive wars if she finds it politically expedient to do so. I do not want that blood on my hands.
I vote only for Barack this year.

It was an absolutely amazing and phenomenal afternoon at the Sheridan County, WY caucus!!! To give you an idea: the last Sheridan County caucus held drew about 50 people. Today's drew over 500+...the line snaked out of sight, around the block...young and old, all walks of life. The enthusiasm was breathtaking...there were cheers, there were tears of joy to be a participant in the process, everyone emotional because we were taking part in history and helping to make a change. There were shouts of "YES WE CAN"!!! New friends were made, old friends embraced...all in all, we stood united as Democrats but, more importantly, as proud citizens of our state and of these United States. We used our voice...and we shouted out loud and strong "our choice is OBAMA"!!! Let us not lose the momentum...not here in Wyoming or anywhere else in this country. Unite and take Obama home to the White House...Wyoming stands proud and ready for a change...Wyoming says "YES WE CAN"...

To the Obama campaign, I think it's time that our guy needs to step up and get a little tougher and resolute. Today, we had a Congressman in Iowa who essentially said Al Qaeda would be dancing in the streets if Barack Obama got elected, due to his name, place or birth, whatever. This Congressman, who was a Republican by the name of Steve King made other boneheaded/ignorant statements regarding our guy.

Yes, people are going to say what they say. That's their right. People are going to make dumb statements, and Barack shouldn't have to respond to every one obviously. But to hear ignorant nonsense from someone in the House, c'mon!

People want to see Barack's toughness, and this is an ideal, unbeit unfortunate opportunity to do so. I can't think of a better backdrop than Mississippi, where so many of the civil rights battles were fought, for Barack to shine. He needs to show strength and to illustrate there are still more battles ahead.

I am from Ohio, and people here wanted to see Barack be strong and perservere via strength. We failed to see that from him with the repeated Clinton attacks.

Barack has a golden opportunity to really start to show his teeth. Get tough! People want tough, as well as smart, charismatic, uplifting, etc.

Fight back! Be strong! Challenge!

Don't let this nonsense from King go unanswered. No more tepid statements from someone in the campaign.

Let's make this happen, and let's win this nomination!

I think Clinton is more open to this so-called dream team because she knows in her and Bill's demented minds that she most likely will lose the nomination, so she wants to try to "SECURE" and "WEASEL" her place in as VP. I was just watching Chris Matthews on MSNBC say that Obama keeps running home and saying "she hit me again" and was relying on the sympathy vote. And it made me realize that these pundits really dont it get.

Barack stands to lose a lot if he fights back and Hillary knows it, as it will turn off a lot of people who expect him to be different and change the course of politics.

When he says it won't be easy, he was talking about times like these when we [his supporters] just wish he'd fight back; but as he says, he's in the business of lifting the country up, not tearing down his opponents.

If you are a supporter and you want him to fight back ask yourself this question

How can you change something when you immerse yourself into it?

You have to stand your ground and wait until other people see your stance. All it needs, is for one person to stand,then another until the whole nation is behind your cause.

Just be patient and don't forget Barack's words, trust me he knows what he is doing.

I disagree, I do not think we have no role to play outside of donating, calling and canvassing to GOTV. That is not what ownership is about...that unless we're doing the abovementioned we should all shut up and sit tight!

If this is a movement and a campaign that is of the people, by the people and for the people then it should also be about the people.

As such, we are ALL stakeholders and we ALL can contribute and communicate ideas, opinions, suggestions and even random thoughts...after all, this blog is set up for just that purpose.

Here's part of my message to HQ:

I would like to thank our campaign strategists for the win at all costs memo put out today, it negates some of the damaging deliberate misinformation and mischaracterization by our opponent.

However, I want to see us go further. This election process is still a steep uphill climb, Obama says he is skinny but tough I have yet to see any evidence of that as yet. The news cycle is depicting him as "weak" "soiled" "no fire in his belly" "no real desire to be president" etc. to say this does not bode well for us is an understatement.

What country would want that in a commander in chief?

The opponent has used the media to play this to great advantage by portraying him as untrustworthy and weak/ineffectual. Why aren't our strategists/surrogates taking the media and the opponent head on?

We need strong surrogates briefed on talking points along this meme, we need Michelle, our closer, to raise it when she speaks wherever she speaks, we need Barack himself to address it with more gravitas than he has been exhibiting of late...protecting his honesty and integrity is crucial, otherwise how do we draw a clear distinction btwn him and the opponent?

Do not dimiss our opponent out of hand, do not underestimate the efficacy of her tactics-One memo is not enough, it simply will not stem the deluge (I know its coming!) before the PA vote. The opponent's misleading and outright false claims worked in OH and TX...do you think she will abandon this method of swaying voters now? If anything-I predict she will get progressively worse going into PA.

I would like to add another consideration to your response to wayne's post.

Making the distinction between Obama and Clinton as you suggest in your response is important. However we can "denounce and reject" kitchen sink politics by frist making sure our own hands are clean of mischaracterizing our opponents positions.

To combat kitchen sink politics, we have to make sure we have cleaned our dirty dishes first. By identifying and correcting where we have made mistakes, we give much more credibility when going after our opponent's mischaracterizations.

For the claim to change politics as usual, we can't simply toss our own kitchen sink or complain about theirs.

I would like to see three things in our rebuttal strategy:
1) admit where our opponent has a valid criticism. It shows strength to say "we regret we did that and would like to set the record straight"
2) "renounce and reject" our opponents unfair claims, lies or mischaracterizations. Challenge them to step up and correct themselves.

3) tie the above two items to what we propose to do, how it spicifically relates to important issues. Introduce and expand on how we will address each issue.

The memo structure of "rebuttal to win at all costs" was an excellent framework, though I still believe (as i've posted before) that it could have tied the war and economic costs more closely together.

Unlike Clinton, Barack will not take money from special interest groups or lobbyists, so there are questions that need to be ask to make sure that we remian true to that. It is not possible to donate anonymously and I am glad because we can always stand strong on our donations coming from people who are not affiliated!

You can make your support heard in other ways, like start calling MS and PA. You can do this anonymously and you might even want to throw in why you converted!

I don't think it's possible to make an anonymous donation to a political campaign. You must be a U.S. citizen and there are limits as to how much a person can give, so you have to disclose your identity.

I asked multiple times about the anonymous donation because I just could not wait to make the donation. Sorry about my impatience. I don't mean to give any wrong idea!

This is all new to me!

I supported/ donated for Hillary before I know Barack well enough. Now I learned about Barack and I wanted to support him. I am just in an odd position to change my position openly now.

Anonymous donation would be an easy way for me, but rules are rules and I respect that. I'll brave up and do my best to have my voice heard one way or another. I just thought it would not be too late.

I understand now that 'Change' is not easy. I am about to make unhappy group of people around me.

I'm from Seattle too, and you know from the Washington caucus outcome that you are not alone. :)

The contributions that are public record and easily found are over $200. I don't know how much you intend to donate. I waffled on crossing that $200 barrier for very different reasons than you did, but I waffled. In the end, I felt that I needed to make another contribution in the interest of continuing past Texas (thank goodness we won the most delegates) and on to the rest of the primaries. I'm now at $215.01. There will be more to come in the months ahead.

If your friends cannot accept that you would change your opinion about a politician, ask yourself this question: what else wouldn't they accept?

Instead, trust in them to understand that you have your reasons. Explain them, if you must. If you feel you're talking to a brick wall, and you feel that your "secret" will get out, simply tell them that you have changed your mind just as you respect them when they change their minds about something, and it will blow over.

Honestly. I have friends who still support Hillary. I don't talk down to them, but I notice that they avoid bringing the subject up with me. Something tells me there is a lot of "buyer's remorse" out there for early Hillary supporters.

I should know. I used to be one too. :)

Amen! We need all of the help we can get!! Obviously, the Clinton Dynasty will do anything. They and the Bushes (including Bush Sr. VP) have been the only families in the W.H in 27 years!

We need to focus on the economy. Not to sound like Lou Dobbs, but we are promoting slavery in Communist China. A large portion of our goods, especially toys and clothing, come from a Communist country, which is a real threat to our security, and already a destroyer of our economy. Hearing more about switching the tax cuts for companies that outsource to companies that are inside the US.

What about Sullivan Principles for companies in China? Like South Africa, these principles would require US companies to treat their employees in foreign countries as they do employees in the US. Since Chinese workers are paid 50 - 75 cents an hour, that should shake them up!!

Here is one to help us celebrate. The 3 AM ad put out by Senator Clinton was made using stock video - the little girl in the video - now 17 years old is a supporter of Obama. She was on CNN this evening talking about how she does not support HRC and is stumping for Obama.

Wow - HRC is a leader who doesn't check her vidoes closely. She is a leader who doesn't read reports before voting to go to war. She is a leader who voted yes on a bill in hopes that it would fail. She is a leader who was involved in some of the nastiest scandals in the White House. She is a leader who like to toss the kitchen sink - or as rumored, plates at Bill when she is angry. She is a leader who only wants followers and does not want to deal with those of us who live in small states and who caucus. She is NOT a leader I want in the White House.

I am repelled by Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton's campaign based on smear tactics and fraudulent representations of Senator Obama's character, culture, intent, capacity, and professional achievements.

The debate that I want to see should include true patriots like Barack Obama, Ron Paul, and Ralph Nader. These parties believe in the Constitution and want to end the warfare state for America. In doing so, they will restore freedom, liberty, and prosperity back to government.

Take all the wasted IRS tax money from the military industrial war complex, and, let us not forget the criminal justice industrial complex, and invest back into our country. When our country is strong and healthy, we can work in partnership with other nations that want our support and enhance their prosperity. Prosperity will not be achieved at the barrel of a gun.

In the later case, only a small percentage of wealthy elites and puppet masters get rich. The rest are cast into a depth of death and desecration.

Wyoming, you get it. Barack Obama is the best. He is such an intelligent, smart, and inspiring candidate who will bring positive change to our country.

Hillary Clinton is the reason there is such an uproar about Michigan and Florida. All Democratic candidates and the DNC agreed prior to the campaigning that they would not try to get votes in those states because they ignored their party's rules. Hillary Clinton also ignored her party's rules and placed her name on the ballot. Now that she is losing, she wants to get all of those delegates. Hillary Clinton did not win those states because there was no contest.

Hillary Clinton feels that if she says something, it is a fact. The Democratic Party is not stupid. We have voted throughout our country to keep Barack Obama in the lead and he continues to win with the great following he has in every state. Isn't it interesting that Hillary Clinton ignores those states that don't have many delegates who can help her. People in every state want to know that the person who is elected President of the United States will hear their voices when they call for help. Hillary Clinton and George Bush have proven they are not going to be there for all Americans, but only those Americans who live in states with large delegate distributions.

The media is confushed about who is really in the lead when they continue to show Hillary Clinton saying as the winner, she will allow Barack Obama to serve as her Vice President. What a laugh and a distortion of the truth. Barack Obama cannot lose the delegates he has already won.

We are still fired up and ready to go. Barack Obama has the best healthcare plan because his plan gives all of us the choice to get health insurance. I don't like the HRC plan because it means that money will be taken out of my check whether I agree with it or not.

The wins in Wyoming and other caucus states are exciting! However, consider the following hypothetical:

Michigan holds a caucus in May and Florida a primary in June. At the convention Obama has a 135 pledged delegate lead (excluding superdelegates) and Clinton has a narrow lead of 25,000 in the national popular vote. Question: Is it legitimate for Clinton to argue that she should receive the nomination based on the popular vote? The answer, absolutely not. To do so would be to change the rules in the middle of the game and deny the citizens of the caucus states their voice at the convention.

There are apples and there are oranges. Typically we know the difference. We have primaries and we have caucuses. And we usually know the difference. Yet, somehow, we now appear to have something that is neither a caucus nor a primary. It is sometimes referred to as the (national) popular vote. The latter is created by totaling the votes from all of the caucuses and the primaries. It is a chimera, a mythical beast, a red-herring with wings, etc. But the folks in the caucus states stand to be, shall we say, disenfranchised by this chimera. Consider, if your state holds a caucus, your caucus will involve many fewer participants than in a primary. When the apples and oranges of primaries and caucuses are combined into one large national popular vote, your state will not be adequately represented. Had the members of caucus states realized this before they set up their systems, they might have reconsidered. But they, as the rest of us, were told that citizens voted for delegates (directly or indirectly).

I have not seen one note in the Media or the Press, not one small asterisk, warning the American people that combining the votes in caucus and non-caucus states is not only unfair to the caucus states, but may misrepresent the strengths of the candidates and undermine the present system. For better or worse, we currently have a delegate system, and we need to play by its rules. By accepting a popular vote lead as definitive, especially a slim national one, the Democrats are inviting chaos at their convention.

The DNC did not send out a warning: Caucuses may be hazardous to your representation. It must now step up to the plate and defend its delegate system.

Never mind that his popular vote was way over, which is how she staked claimed to Nevada although he had 13 delegates to her 12. Or Texas, where he "won" the delegate count handily but did not win the popular vote, yet they say the delegates are what wins Texas. And the MSM gives it to her. Well also ask them to update the final certified CA total.
HRC lost 4 delegates and Obama gained 4. The corecct total should now be 203 to 167 not what they show. (This happened 3/4)

I just sent this to Keith Olberman at MSNBC

As we all know it is misleading to declare states for any candidate as us dems do not have winner take all states. But if you are going to do it, please report it accurately. Why on earth did you call TX before the caucus was counted? Every vote should count and that counts for 1/3 of the vote. You yourself claim that this would be a net gain of 9 for Obama. If you are going to light up the states as if this is a general election, at least correct it!

Please, as you all know perception can be everything.

Barb - I don't see it as a bad week for Obama. It took Rush Limbaugh viewers to help Hillary win in Ohio and Obama won in Vermont and Texas. I don't know about Rhode Island? So that isn't really bad in my opinion.

More importantly, the continuing fight for the Dem nom let the media give McCain a free pass when he had a temper tantrum on his campaign plane on Wednesday. Pat on MSNBC said we had a "bad week". Did we?
Ohio -9
RI -5 for a total change of -14
TX pri -4 for a total change of -18
TX cau +9 for a total change of -9
VT +3 for a total change of -6
WY +3 for a total change of -3

Now add in the final recount and certification for CA
+8 (HRC lost 4 and we gained 4) for a total change of +5

In other words WE GAINED +5 DELEGATES this week.
HRC ends the week in worst shape that she started with.
AND that does not include the fact that we gained 8 or 9 Super delegates and she only gained 2 or 3.

Depends on how you look at it. In a normal year,with a normal opponent, we would be counting delegates and declaring Barack the winner.

But the media now sees that Hillary has a plan to win that does not include the math, and that's what they are reporting on.

I would say that we didn't have a good week in the sense that HIllary controlled all the news cycles and we were on our heels from all the lies and other things she threw at us. In this world, right or wrong (I say wrong!0 it's the one that controls the news cycle that wins.

I would bet a ton of money - if I still had any left - that Barack is putting his head together with the folks he trusts the most, trying to figure out how to adjust our strategy.

I have been traveling state to state with this campaign since November. So far I've been to New Hampshire, South Carolina, Georgia, Texas, heading up to Pennsylvania, with hopes of campaigning in Oregon and Montana.

As your typical, starving college student, I have little money. And so I hope with your help to be able to raise an amazing goal: One hundred thousand dollars.

At any other time in my life I would've thought it to be impossible for me, as an 18 year old, to raise that much money for something. But I've seen the way this campaign works and inspires.

I'm very happy that Roland Martin stated on CNN that Obama needs to fight back. He needs to respond. He can't be quiet. He has not responded to many of the things Clinton has stated.

I am still angry that Jamal Simmons just sat there last evening while Lanny Davis LIED about the Rezko issue. They didn't say a thing......just sat there like dummies. I'm so tired of this. Why don't you create a profile, than we can see exactly how hard you are working. Barack will not be distracted by no-one. You see because we are his true Obama-nites, kool-aid drinking, keeping our focus, pie in the sky supporters will always stay true,and respectful to the campaign. I think your comment was uncalled for, and shows a sign of disrespect for Obama. You feel because he is actually going about his campaign in a way that does not have to demonize the other canidate that makes him somehow weak (I DON'T THINK SO). People don't want to get bogged down in the dirt of campaigns, but would like to hear what makes them the better canidate. I KNOW THAT BARACK HAS PROVEN WHY HE IS THE BEST. Also I believe the media wants him to engage in the old politics, because not even the media understands how he is able to keep his cool, and still chalk up win after win. The media would love for him to get down and dirty then they would have something to distract the voters with, and that would be that he is not who he said he is.You see most of the T.V. media is owned by persons who need to sell stories, and make money. Barack is smart and wise. He knows how to speak to the listening. And he is engaging the American People and the world in the possilbilities of a better country. I am tired of having to hold my nose when I go vote, just so I could vote for the lesser of the two evils. If Barack gets the nomination it will be the first time I don't have to hold my nose, and I have been voting since I was 18, now I am 48. So lets all keep nice words in our mouth about Barack, and lets understand at the end of the day he has to look at his self and know that he didn't have to stoop low to win. All he needed to do was be true to who he say he is. And that is my rant for the day.(smile)

I am not talking about attacking or getting in the gutter, most people responding to my comment need to calm down.

I'm talking about responding to a lie or an attack that is unfair or purely fasle. Much like they did with the 3AM ad.

Hillary's been pushing the Bosnia story for at least a month and it took until tonight for Obama to respond to it. According to exit polls, his "lack" of foreign policy experience compared to hers was the deciding factor for a lot of Ohioans.

He can not let her control news cycle after news cycle. We've got to have our surrogates on more programs (this is the 3rd week in a row with a Hillary surrogate doing the first interview on Real Time) and more outspoken in the press in general.

We do not need to attack Hillary to make her look bad. She keeps lying about Obama's record, we just have to keep telling the trush about hers and its a done deal.

What she's trying to do is convince the Super D's that he is unfit to campaign against the GOP. She knows she has no right to the nomination now so she is trying to fight other ways in, befitting of the rat that she is. The Obama campaign just has to be deligent in keeping her OUT. Like it or not, it is going to come down to super delegates

She's such an Eddie Haskell, and moreover, she lies. Maybe it's pathological. Maybe it's a disease. I'd have more empathy for her. But her confabulations and lies are just too funny.
