I think that Obama would do better in many states if the elections would be repeated. Many people voting in February were not familiar with his name. I also spoke to a good friend of mine, who happens to have dark skin, and she told me that she voted for Barack just b/c of my influence. She did want to vote for him initially just based on the color of his skin. I think that many people did not believe that he had a chance. But, he does...

You state that Clinton got 61% of the Hispanic vote..with 39% of the white vote. This is troubling since Barack is doing poorly with the hispanic vote.

I am hopeful because he is so smart to have a 50 state strategy of registering new voters.

I’m really concerned. Someone at work told me that Hillary has some explosive info on Barack that she will release in October (October surprise) giving him no time to recover.
Lately in the news, I have heard all the pundits state the nomination is his “short of some catastrophic revelation.”
Headquarters should know about this. In the past I have called headquarters and an operator will answer the phone but doesn’t seem to have any connection of reaching someone higher in the campaign.
Since the campaign was caught with its pants down when the Wright issue hit, they need to be fully aware of this so they can determine what it could possibly be and how to deal with it.
Any suggestions on how I get this info up higher. I plan to call headquarters on Tuesday.

“Obviously, I’d want to have a broad-ranging discussion with Senator Clinton about how I could make her feel good about the process and have her on the team moving forward,” Mr. Obama said. “But as I said, it’s premature right now. He won't have faith. Look at all the advisors and surrogates that he has across the board. Seasoned politicians who have been around a longtime, taking him by the hand and leading him through this process. I am not worried at all he is smart and savvy and knows how the game is played on a higher plane that is. He is fine. Trust his judgment and all those who are surrounding him right now. He really has some high level folk at his beck and call.

Yeah Mary, I live in a city/country where public transportation is still the primary way to get around. But with gas at almost $8 a gallon, this pledge is an easy one to make and keep!

Did you guys catch it the other day when Barack mentioned we need super fast mass transit rail (Amtrack) across the country?

If we had a link here in Lewiston, Idaho to Seattle (300 miles away), people could actually live in Idaho and work in Seattle! It would be so great if we had fast rail like they do in Europe and Japan.

The speed limits on the highway here are 70 mph, but I limit my speed to 55-60. It really does make a difference! Jimmy Carter was absolutely right about this!

Glad to hear this!

I was one of the (few it seems) people who was upset that we did away with the 55 MPH speed limit. It saved lives, and it saved fuel.

Here in north TX, the speed limit is usually 60 MPG, but people generally drive much faster (if they aren't in the usual traffic jam).

I used to use cruise control to drive 65, but have been driving 60 for awhile now to increase fuel efficiency.

I've noticed that a lot of my fellow Texans have been, too.

I'm noticing how many of us live out in the sticks or without public transport. Who says he hasn't got the rural folks? In many states he does. If we have the majority, our votes should count. Many party leaders agree with us, but even if they did not...no one group has the all the wisdom.

After Albany, Obama came to my town Eugene for a huge rally on the UofO campus. Weather was gorgeous and the atmosphere during his speech at dusk was that of an outdoor street festival. Thousands of people hopped up on hope :)
The are bumper stickers and lawn signs all over town and I worked the saturday market booth today, TONS of people buying bumper stickers and buttons and super excited. Call us and remind us to turn in our ballots before the 20th so we can "sign seal and deliver" this nomination

The other day I heard a reporter say that HRC was speaking before a large crowd of 2000 & had to rewind the DVR to see if I'd mis-heard that. 2000 is not a "large crowd" in Obamaland. :)

You are invited to join women volunteers across the US in writing postcards to women in Montana to ask for their vote for Barack Obama. The goal is to write at least 20,000 postcards by May 20th - together we can achieve this goal! Here is how to participate in 3 easy steps:

STEP ONE: Individually or with other women in your community, purchase 10 or more postcards from your state for each of you, along with post card stamps.

STEP TWO: If writing postcards in a group, have a Postcard Party to get them all written and posted at the same time. Each postcard message should be brief and to the point - no more than 2-4 sentences. The following provides sample language: Dear Fellow Voter, I voted (or I am voting) for Barack Obama for President because he is the best candidate to bring our country together and to help us solve the problems we are facing. His leadership is just what we need right now. I hope that you will vote for Barack too. Sincerely, (Sign Your Name, City and State)

STEP THREE: Put stamps on each card, leave the return address and mailing address areas on each card blank (the cards will be addressed by volunteers), and mail all of your postcards together in an envelope(s) or box.

This link gives an eye opener of how BO did it. interesting read. BO won becasue he read the rules. Hillary's campaign did not.

Sounds familiar there is a pattern here: HRC supported the war
becasue like BO said she did not read the intelligence report and also at the time it was the politically correct thing to do to support the war (go with the wind). HRC also supported the war becasue she had an eye to the presidency and thus wanted to look tough in the face of the american people. In other words she supported the war for political expediency and not becasue she believed saddam had weapons of mass destruction but supported the war with an eye to the presidency.

I read Karen Tumulty's piece in Time where she spoke about Mark Penn's ignorance of the actual Democratic nomination rules -- he apparently believed he was working for the Republican nomination, because those were the rules he knew.

After I read that, I had trouble believing that Senator Clinton a) hired Mark Penn, b) continues to employ Mark Penn (even if it is in a diminished capacity), c) owes Mark Penn so much money d) has paid Mark Penn well over $5 million and e) continues racking up debt based on Mr. Penn's so-called brilliance. Mr. Penn didn't know the rules of the game and that is worth well over $5 million dollars?
I still cannot believe Mr. Penn is still employed by Senator Clinton's campaign.

I agree. Hard to understand that Penn was not drawn and quartered after such a string of blunders. Instead, his role in the campaign was merely diminished. Of course, the fact that he originally had so much influence shows that not many others Clinton insiders knew the score, either. And these people think they should be running the country?!
