Comment from Huffington Post, from a Clinton supporter. Now that Obama has bagged it, lets be very positive and keep our eyes on Nov, welcoming those who may never post but are reading this blog
I make automatic contributions to Hillary's campaign, and I am continuing them until November, specifically to help with the campaign debt. You will see many others doing the same thing. Believe it or not, there are millions of people who still deeply admire both Hillary and Bill for their great contributions to America.

"Now that Senator Obama is the presumptive nominee, let's work together to rebuild the party and achieve victory in November. I went to his website today, and have to say I am impressed with the campaign's organization capabilities and enthusiasm. While I will not be contributing financially, I (after I collect myself from the disappointment of Hillary;s loss) will probably sign up to call people on his behalf. I did this for Hillary at least an hour a day (sometimes 3 if it was before a primary), and will somehow find it in myself to transfer my energy to Senator Obama. He was not my first choice, but he is a Democrat and deserves all of our respect and support.

The time for bitterness and vitriol is over (that goes for both camps). Now is the time to remember what is at stake. The Presidency is about more than nay one person. It is an expression of our collective will as citizens of this great country. Even if you're not happy with the outcome of the primary, remember Roe vs. Wade and those millions who have died from the "wars on terror". We need victory now."

How very wonderful!!!!! This supports what I've been trying to get across on the blog for a couple of weeks now. There are Clinton supporters (like myself) who will join us. They believe in the unity we need to speak loudly and in one voice.

Our fantastic Beaverton Oregon farmer's market opened today. There were BIG Hillary signs, and Hillary supporters in several places around the market. I decided to thank them for participating in the process. Two people seemed a little stunned that I would be talking to them with my "GOT HOPE?" t-shirt on. In the end, I think that they appreciated that I took the time to hear what they had to say. One lady asked my why I was voting for Barack. I was able to tell her. She admitted that she would vote for the democratic nominee. I told her I would do the same. I am really grateful that we have a choice in this country.

Don't be sorry. I have been a supporter of Barack's from the start and when canvassing locally was always encouraged by the number of Hillary's supporters who said they would vote for Barack if he secured the nomination. This in the midst of a sometimes acrimonious atmosphere during the PA primary.

I will say this: the presidency of Bill Clinton from 1992 - 2000 helped make the nomination of Barack Obama possible in 2008. I think we can all agree on this. If it had not been for President Clinton's ability to build bridges when he first began to run for president, the current grassroots would have had a more difficult time taking root and spreading.

And Hillary Clinton certainly deserves a great deal of credit for assisting in that.

You are so right, the primary goal to to put a Democrat in the White House and as many as possible in Congress.

If you have not done so, reading "The Audacity or Hope", as well as the Issues part of this website, may help you fill in your gaps.

As a 74 year old white woman who initially was thrilled to envision the breaking of the "Glass Ceiling", the vision, honesty and enthusiasm the next generation moved me to become part of it.

I too supported HRC in the beginning as well as supported Obama, but when I started to see HRC true colors and Bill Clinton's I was quite taken back. I am struggling with the concept of let's be friends to people like HRC and her supporters that tried for so long to damage Obama and his supporters...I will do what I can, but I do not trust HRC....

Hey, guys, I've been calling KY, and there are a LOT of undecided folks out there!! More than I'd suspected! And they're SO nice. I called Bowling Green (smaller big city w/Western KY U.) numbers today, and had several leaning our way, MORE undecideds, and none committed to the other candidate! This is surprising to me, esp. since I used to live there and thought I'd have a rough time of it.
So CALL! I know HQ isn't pushing it, but we want to talk to everyone, right? I'm telling you, there ARE more votes out there in KY and WV. Biggest issues for my calls: the economy, education, and ethics (!).
--I have to admit, I did allow my Southern drawl to creep back in, but it ain't like I'm fakin' it er nothin'. :)--
If you have a few minutes this afternoon, please call voters in these states and talk with them!

I was born in Colorado and was there until I was 12. Then, my parents moved us all to Oklahoma and I now what you mean. When I get to talking to West Virginians, my old accent creeps up on me and takes over. I had one called ask me about it and I explained -- though I have to say, I like the accent of the West Virginians better than my own. AND speaking to North Carolinans was like listening to music being sung. I continue to be amazed when making these calls, though, how alike we are (no matter our geographic location, race, color or creed).

Obviously not everyone is home, but everyone shares the same concerns I have -- healthcare, education, the economy, the environment, the war... everyone does not agree on the best way to solve these problems, but everyone recognizes these ARE the problems. We do have more in common with each other than I ever dreamed before making these calls -- AND the American people ARE a very decent lot (Senator Obama is definitely RIGHT about that).

Bahama for Obama -- you are like psychic! How'd you know?? I was surprised by this Saturday endorsement as Super D's usually announce during the week. But that just goes to show just how many peeps are for soon-to-be-President Obama! I watched a lil bit of HRC today on the Clinton News Network and she's like -- "i can still win if you vote for me" boy! this is truly a great lesson on civics, politics, etc. Meaning: just say it and hope it becomes true. Never mind the delegate math, the lack of money raised, the pledged delegates, the popular vote. Just say it, and it will become true. Hah! Bill said it right earlier but for the wrong campaign: this is truly a fairy tale!!

After hearing all the polls numbers with Hillary Clinton way ahead of Obama, I got fired up and made 25 calls to West Virginia to learn about West Virginians from their own mouths. Left many messages. Three wrong numbers. Two fantastic conversations:

1. Young mother with baby crying in background who was initially for Clinton because of her years in the limelight. She didn't know Obama at all. As she has learned about Barack she became torn between the two. As Hillary's negativity and "saying things just to get elected" became apparent to ordinary Americans, and to this young mother, she found herself leaning toward Obama because he is positive and honest. I wished her well as she considered them both and made her decision.

2. With a wonderful older pro-life (as if we aren't all pro-life!!!)women who asked me about Obama's abortion stance. She said this was a major conscience issue for her. We had a great conversation. She's not voting for Clinton for the same reason and wished she could vote for the "first African-American president because he holds all of us in his history!" (her words) I thanked her for remaining true to her conscience. Her husband is voting for Barack!

So my conclusions:

1. Do NOT believe the polls. Obama has worked his way into people's choices because he is unmistakably authentic, truthful, and principled. They ONLY knew the Clintons when the primaries began, but over time EVERYONE, including the good folks in West Virginia and Kentucky, has gotten to know Obama and good people everywhere have moved toward him.

2. Obama always moves forward, winning hearts and minds, while Hillary always moves backward. They say she will win...but we know that he actually wins. He moves forward while she moves backward!

Phone West Virginians. Phone Kentuckians. Don't let the pollsters tell you what they think. Hear the truth from their own mouths!

I recall an event I attended where Michelle spoke about single-issue voters. She pointed out that all of us are likely to have at least one position that is different from Obama's. But if we are going to come together across the many things that divide us, we all are going to have to be willing to make some sacrifices. She challenged us to think about an issue really important to us that we might give up in order to be able to unite in this movement to work for the betterment of all. If we look for a candidate that agrees with us 100% on everything, we're not likely to find one. However, Barack will listen and will try to find the center where we can agree --- for instance, doing as much as possible to prevent a woman from having to consider abortion.

I would like to tell you mine now if you will listen. I am a white married 21 yrs female age 39 and mother of two ages 21 and 16. I differ from you as I have been an independant.
I support Obama not based on race religion or gender but because he relates to me in a way no other canidate has in my adult lifetime. I have normally done the vote for the lesser of the evils canidate and now gladly have the chance to actually vote FOR a canidate. As much as I liked Gore and Kerry even they did not have the impact Obama has in regards to my vote.
I have worked outside the home and also currently a housewife so I have seen it from all sides. I have strong democrat and republican family members and even some racist relatives.
This election isnt so much for me as it is my children and their future. I am uneducated (GED) and we live on a 30k a year income with no security (contract work) which includes no health care as well. We had all this at one time and life was grand as we felt we were going to make it but that all ended in the 90s and has steadily gotten worse. It started after the false promises of Bill Clinton and all the while Hillary supported him every step of the way. McCain is just the same as Bush on way to many policys to count.
I am sorry that you feel that strongly against Obama but in many ways Obama and Clinton have many same policy views just different ways to go about them.
Finally I would like to say that sexsism and racisim is only there if you see it when you look in the mirror. Everything in life starts with one being you and from there its simply step after step to change whatever may be ahead of you in the future..

My Obama voyage to HRC supporters..

As time has gone by and I have learned more about Senator Obama and what his movement is truly all about I have found myself pulled here day after day. I have read Senator Clinton’s issues page and Senator Obama’s issues page looking for the differences I needed to make an informed choice about who to support in this primary. I’ve asked questions on the blog. And, I’ve even prayed for guidance as this decision has been very difficult for me.

I am a lifelong democrat. My first opportunity to vote in a presidential election was for Bill Clinton in 1992. I believe it is obvious that the Clinton’s have made mistakes but I don’t hate them for it. I have long considered myself one of the FOB’s (Friends of Bill) and a true Clintonian to the core. I still have admiration and respect for the good the Clinton’s have done for this country. I will always hold a special place for them and their administration in my heart.

However, I have come to the conclusion that I believe the days of the Clintons and old politics are over. We are at a pivotal moment in our Nation’s history. We need a change and we need a BIG change. We need to call out in one voice that we will not take it anymore. We want the world to know that we are taking responsibility for the actions of our government and are doing all that we can to correct the wrong’s that have been committed.

I support Senator Barack Obama because I believe that he is the only candidate who has shown a real desire to change politics as usual in Washington. I have finally found my reason. The issues are basically the same between Clinton and Obama. I had to find within myself the reason to justify switching candidates. Senator Obama has laid out a plan to bring the government back into the hands of the people. He has inspired those from all walks of life to believe in change. He has brought the youth of our nation together. He has shown the world that America is waking up and finding that it is still strong.

Hi Hinda!!

Well, I am the only member of my family and friends who voted for Obama. Hillary won my county in NC and actually ALL of the rural counties.

However, there is hope. My husband voted for Hillary in the primary but has committed to vote for Obama in the November election. My mom was visiting today and very upset that Hillary has lost the nomination. She is a bit angry that she feels that people voted for Barack not because he's AA but because he's a man! LOL... I asked who she planned to support in the general now that Hillary has no hope and she said that she would most likely stay home. I let it go for today because the loss is still new and feelings are still hurt. However, I know my mother and I know that I will be able to bring her over gradually. I also feel confident that my sister and her significant other will come over in the end. I will be spending a week with them this summer and will have plenty of time to bring them over gradually after they too have had time to heal from Hillary's loss.

I believe that "most" of my friends will come over as well. There are a couple who will be a bit tricky.

So, to answer you question... yes... I feel that the largest majority of them will come around once the 'hurt' of Hillary losing has some time to heal.

I will not yet send any of them to the blog to learn more because it is still entirely too Clinton bashy here. Many of the things said here about Hillary upset me as well but I'm a bit more open-minded, empathetic and forgiving than most. I believe for now we just have to let it ride out until June.

Even though I voted for Obama it was VERY difficult for me. I even cried a little as I felt I had betrayed Hillary but I had to do what I felt was best. I still can't bring myself to make calls for Obama. I will however make calls once the primary is over and I'm not having to campaign against Hillary who I still admire and respect regardless of her faults.

In case you need some advise,tell your mum and everybody else that Hillary didn't loose because of her gender(otherwise J.Edwards will still be in the race)...Allow me this negative thought but as far as I am concerned,I accuse her husband Bill and the other guy Mark Penn...they gave her bad advises over and over and with the stress-pressure she wasn't sure anymore what image to show or what behavior to have!...I don't know if I told you but back in Nov-Dec 2007,I had an account in both websites and wrote some e-mails to her HQ asking her to stop attacking Obama and to stop using her husband years in the White House(like it was all she was offering..."the woman in me" was mad because I wanted her to have her own agenda and now we all know that she got in trouble running on the 90's nostalgia)...at that time they were 8 candidates and I wanted both Obama and Hillary to be the last 2!....so to make a long story short,we need to accept the fact that she made mistakes and that's why she lost voters!...I wish they hadn't censored her website and I wish she had read our comments because she would have seen where we wanted her to be and what we wanted her to do!...and that's why people like you gave up and went to the person who gave power to the people(your name says it all)!...

Hillary Clinton has been known around the world (even back in Africa)and everybody was expecting her to win because of the 90's nostalgia but she made some big mistakes...as you said there isn't that much difference in their policies so it all came down to personality!...And that's what her supporters need to understand!

There are always going to be "hardcore" supporters & "soft" supporters. I know 7 people that voted for Hillary (3 older women & 4 gay men) & everyone of them said that they really like Obama & are going to vote for him in November.
I was talking to one of the guys & said I thought it was odd that the Clinton supporters I knew fell into these 2 demographics. He gave me my laugh of the day when he said that it was pretty much ONE demographic!
When I asked one of the women how she felt, she said that it had been a tough choice to begin with and she was whole heartedly behind Obama in the fall. She also said she really wishes Clinton would bow out gracefully & begin campaigning for Barack. "We can't allow McCain to win.", she said.

Believe it or not, there are millions of people who still deeply admire both Hillary and Bill for their great contributions to America.

Thanks for the info. I sent three large pizzas and some soda to the Wheeling, WV office. They were incredibly touched by the gesture. They said the only thing they have to eat is granola bars and they're getting a little sick of them. I ordered the pizza from Vacellis (their suggestion)- phone number: 304-232-1100. I would encourage anyone and everyone to do this for this office or one of the others! It shows the people on the ground that we're with them in spirit! Yes We Can! Yes We Will!

I paid by credit card. I told them the Obama Campaign Office and I used the address that was listed (96 14th Street). I also gave the pizza place their number and asked them to call directly to make sure they had the right place. They were very cooperative (although it was funny because they asked if I wanted to include a tip which is something that would never happen here in Iowa). LOL....for the record, I tipped the driver $5. LOL. =)

WASHINGTON - Barack Obama erased Hillary Rodham Clinton's once-imposing lead among superdelegates Saturday when he added more endorsements from the group of Democrats who will decide the party's nomination for president.

Obama added superdelegates from Utah, Ohio and the Virgin Islands, enabling him to surpass Clinton's total for the first time in the campaign. He had picked up nine endorsements Friday.

The milestone is important because Clinton would need to win over the superdelegates by a wide margin to claim the nomination. They are a group that Clinton owned before the first caucus, when she was able to cash in on the popularity of the Clinton brand among the party faithful.

Those party insiders, however, have been steadily streaming to Obama since he started posting wins in early voting states.

If Hillary is SO INSISTENT on popular vote lets just count supers in popular vote, count each super as 1 vote, delete pop vote numbers from MI and FL as they don't count, actually count the pop vote numbers of Iowa and Nevada which she doesn't, and the three other caucus states. Than based on this ADMIT that there is NO WAY YOU CAN WIN the popular vote, especially after Obama beats you by 30% (600,000 votes) in OR which is likely, and another few hundred thousand in Montana and South Dakota.

If you are so set on making it based on the voters why are you playing games with the super delegates.

Is there any consolation prize we can give Hillary for coming in second? Free blockbuster movie rentals for 1 year, a month of free Pizza Hut Pizza's, a coupon for three months of Krispy Kreme donuts, we got to think of something. I say we get her elected President of Guam.

One moonlite night I was walking alone on the beach at Cinnamon Bay. Everyone had gone to stories around the camp fire. There were only a few lights. I was in the middle of a National Park, white sand, gentle breeze, alone....the only thought was....

I had flown in from Puerto Rico with a friend. I had taken a REALLY good bottle of scotch. The whole trip I was the butt of jokes. No known soul had ever taken a bottle of scotch to St, Thomas. It's too cheap there. The intoxication above was from the island not the scotch. Just a little clarification.

I've met some really wonderful people on this blog from one corner of this country to the other. People who believe what Obama says about us being one people, one America; that we are indeed equal and all deserve respect. The past couple of days I've had to come to the defense of my home state too many times. This state is pro hillary right now because they don't know Obama and they do know the Clintons. The information they have about Obama comes from MSM and the Clintons. My letter appeared in the Huntington paper yesterday. In it I urged people to get the facts about Obama and one of the places I directed them was this website. I'm beginning to regret that now. Some of them will, no doubt, read this blog. They will hear people calling them racists, ignorant, still living in the 18th. Century, etc. They will then tell their family and friends that it's true what they heard on Fox News, Obama really does hate white people. A few negative people spewing prejudice and bigotry can do a lot of damage. It's so contrary to everything Barack Obama stands for and it's sad to see it happening. So I urge people to think twice before they start calling other people names just because they have a different opinion. To the vast majority on this blog I commend you for the wonderful work you are doing. In my nearly 60 years I've never seen a movement with this much potential for doing good, not only in this country but in this world. If we all learn to act out of love for others what a wonderful world this would be. Sorry to be so long winded but this is the last time I will address this issue.

It's a difficult battle against the MSM, and I'm so happy to see real people calling and reaching out. I agree with you completely, Jerry!!! As of yet, I have not requested that any of my HRC supporting friends and family come here. There is entirely too much negativity still on this blog.

It is an unmoderated blog so it is the responsibility of Obama's supporters to stay positive and stop bashing the Clintons. I know they have made you angry and sometimes continue to do so but you must follow Obama's lead and take the high road.

A little grace and humility in Victory goes a long way toward building bridges.

Thanks Jerry. We are family in Obama Nation. Sometimes you just have to step up to the plate and remind us of our manners. We get a little carried away at times.

We all believe in this movement and we all handle it differently. But we do have a strong sense of unity. Kind of like you can't fuss at my family, but I can. So thanks for the reminder of what's at stake and we will try to moderate our tone, not our passion.

Thank you for your honest assessment of some of the post you have read here on the blog. This blog is a place where people from both campaigns are encouraged to visit to express their likes, dislikes, happiness, and fears. This primary has been emotionally hard on all of us because we all are committed to making this Country and world a better place for the generations that need to still arrive. I always had and have high hopes that we as a Country and World will begin to tear down the artificial barriers that men have constructed for their own personal agenda's. We have to begin to be the bridge so that everyone will be able to cross without fearing what's on the other side. You can tell your family and friends that I am an African American Female Veteran of the U.S.Army who when I raised my right hand to serve and protect I did so not stating that I would protect only people that looked like me, prayed like me, lived like me, or agreed with me. I raised my hand to protect my Country in peace and war. I am a Grandmother of 3 children ages 4,7,and 10, and I want them to judge a person by the character of the person, not by the race of the individual. We do have more in common than we have that are different. At the end of the day even though we look, pray, live, and talk different we are still humans and if we cut ourselves we all will bleed red. And that for me is enough to be hopeful.

I thought it was the policy of Obama HQ to have all contacts with supers go through campaign HQ. I thought we were asked not to contact supers directly. Can't remember where I heard this, but know I heard it and have always followed that bit of advice.

A few congressmen/women sent out a letter to a bunch of delegates on behalf of HRC pressuring them to support her. I'm asking, if one of your congressmen/women were responsible (there is a list of names at the link) and this bothers you, to send them a memo or give them a call explaining what you think.

How did everyone do today? Get a lot of people registered to vote? Sign up new Obama volunteers?

In South Florida today we had a lot of people show up and go in different directions to get new people in the process. I went with a few people from my group and we had a lot of success. What thrilled me the most were the younger people who were so enthusiastic about Obama and either registered or were already registered and were happy to hear about the local group and took our group's card to sign up on the BarackObama.com site and join our group.

I believe the young people are going to be responsible for the first time in electing Obama to be our President! I am so impressed by these young people - they are engaged and involved and I am so proud of them! I am going to make sure that my group goes to every local college and university in the fall and get these fantastic young people organized and active.

What did you do today to increase our numbers?

Jayne...were you in Boward? I was there at 9:00 this morning. I listened to Stacy speak. We grouped in 10's and were sent to different areas to GOTV. There was every age, every accent, every race working together to GOTV.

I had a great time at the meeting. I met so many wonderful people. They were so excited that we finally get to help Forida vote Obama in the fall.

What I learned about the area I was in. Many voters my age and older. They are already registered to vote. I listened alot to what they had to say. In my opinion they will close their eyes in November and push the "Dem" button. There were some still very angry about the vote here, but that was a very FEW! I did register 5. The first one was my son that turns 18 in 8 days. Anther young man just got out of the army, was already registerd in Orlando but lives here now, so we did a change of address. The rest were doing a CAR WASH fundrasier for their group. I got 4 new voters there.

I hope we do it again next Saturday. Better locations might be by the beach or the Mall. Younger not yet registerd will be there.

Obama was awesome, he said he had to leave because tomorrow is mothers day and he had to take care of the women in his life (something to that affect)

I liked that he stressed potential problems that may come with change. Citing electric bills may go up as utility companies come in compliance with new regs for efficiency. He told both sides of the equations and seemed comfortable talking to us as adults, equals. He confessed his imperfect-ness, said we may not always agree, but he was willing to listen.

That's sounds like an agreement most people can live with. I am very proud to support Obama for President 08!!!!

Well, not much hand-wringing going on today. Obama's in the groove--and maybe people are just laying back before we can really start hitting hard on McC.

I'm so thrilled about this week's SDs.
MSNBC First Read just said this:
"So far today in the NBC NEWS count, Obama has a net of three to Clinton's negative one. Also expected today are one more add on from Massachusetts and two adds on from Ohio."

That should bring him to a virtual Superdelegate tie, even by MSNBCs standards (which have been playing it more conservatively than the others.)

Now HRC is telling the SD's it's about the "electoral college votes"!! The new number is 270! That's what it takes to win the presidency.

She is the most arrogant person I have heard of in a while. She wants the SD to give her the nomination based on "her ability to beat McCain in the electoral votes".

Now, she has lost in every metric: Popular, Delegates, states and Superdelegates. She wants them to go on blind trust and give her the nomination even though she has not proven herself in the primaries.

She wants them to over ride all of the voters, the delegates and even Obama himself, because she and a few others "believe" she can win. There is no proof of that, just a hunch.

Yeah right - this is no monarchy, you only have one vote HRC, just like me!! Get over yourself!!

I make calls, take breaks come on the blog, read newspapers and other news. I agree with Jerry that we need to remain positive. However, I also believe that we can state how we feel with documentation to back up what we say. Not random rants.

HRC is an opponent. This is a contest. She keeps changing the goal posts. These are true statements, not negative posts. She and I both have one vote. That is also true.

I don't believe it is fair to give her the nomination when she has not played by the rules of the contests and won. That is not negative.

She is in fact asking SD to over turn the rules and give her this nomination, irregardless of the fact that Obama has won every metric. None of that if false or negative.

Perhaps our definition of negative/positive is different, if so, we agree to disagree. But Jerry in the above post was referring to name calling of the people in his area, and the blatent disregard for differences that was being displayed on the blog. He is right and I commented on his position.

However, if any person visiting this site reads my opinion, they will hear the concerns of an Obama supporter tired of HRC changing the goal posts.

Taxes that I pay the gas that I buy and the food that I buy, the amount of money that I make, liberties and freedoms that I have are bigger than BO and HRC its called the democratic party. as much as I like BO if he was not able to win I would be saying the samething he needs to get out. Plus there is a double standard if BO was in her position mathmatically they would have given him the boot and given the nomination to her, and if he would have refused to drop out they would be considering further measures with regards to his senate seat.

She is also running because this is the first time EVER that a woman has had a REAL chance to be President. I can respect the fact that she wants to see it through, and have no problem with it as long as we're double-teaming the GOP. Remember, this isn't only OUR history being made! I think remembering this (even though it seems like it should be obvious) helped me understand why her supporters are so passionate...imagine how much this means to so many women out there!

I really get the feeling the Clinton's are running for 2012.

They want to destroy the party enough that Barack will lose so they can win in 2012.

They are using Bill as the marker....he one after 12 years of republican rule.

She is working daily to divide the party with race and class wedge issues.

She is talking as if "these are MY voters, those are Yours"

Maybe it is just me but I don't believe for a second that she will give any real help to Barack in the general.

She is already setting the deck for a 2012 run.

This issue was beat to death the last few days.

In short, it can't happen...it's illegal (against campaign finance laws). No money we donate to Sen. Obama's campaign can be or will be "given" to the HRC campaign.

One of the only things that could be done is a SEPARATE fund-raising effort, and no one has said that this would even happen.

We have to put this rumor to bed so it doesn't hurt the fund-raising for THIS campaign.

I think we have every right not to want to help pay off Hillary's debt. But we don't want to hurt Barack for trying to do the right thing. He can't send the money we donate to him to her; that's illegal. They say he will send out a mailer asking for donations or do a joint fundraiser. I will NOT contribute to that effort. MSNBC First Read reported this less than an hour ago:

Obama picked up two Virgin Islands superdelegates who were previously supporting Clinton, the campaign announced. They are Kevin
Rodriguez, who had publicly endorsed Clinton, and Carol Burke, who had been privately considered for Clinton before today. Obama won the Virgin Islands contest overwhelmingly, and Clinton supporters there have been facing increasing pressure to go with Obama.

So far today in the NBC NEWS count, Obama has a net of three to Clinton's negative one. Also expected today are one more add on from Massachusetts and two adds on from Ohio.

You know.... this video is really very good. I think that maybe HQ should consider incorporating unsolicited supporter videos like this one (but obviously a shorter version) in conjunction with their usual professional advertising in the general election. The Obama campaign's(grass roots) message is even more powerful when the message actually comes from the grass root seedlings.

I am just checking in because it a while. The magic number is getting closer for the nomination. I just watch barack in Oregon. he is really fine tuning his talking points for McCain in the fall. I know West Virgina seems like a long shot with 28 delegates at stake, but I think we can make pick up more than a handful of delegates. Yes I do have a strong passion for Barack, I personally don't want to see him humilated again. Hillary can do what she wants, its her business, but she's making people dislike her everyday, and if she can't see that, I feel sorry for her. Some of them sound bitter. Using word like "that man" and "the other guy." Also, suggesting that she not campaign for him.

Imagine the dismay should we be facing what she is facing. A strong and stubborn lady in a transitional world...if you look at the numbers thru squinted eyes, it is close to a nearly even split, with so many people voting in this huge country. I am mostly amazed at the small margin that are drawn to the positive, rather than the negative.

Nope, it's not pretty...some pretty bitter folks. We'll have to take the direction from Sen. Obama and take the high road here, be respectful, and be welcoming. If you go to McSame's site, that's just a down-right dysfunctional group over there...I can't see folks who have claimed all along to believe in HRC's positions and values, and the Democratic party's position and values, drawn to that crowd. Hope they can get over it so we don't have George Bush's third term.

In what's shaping up as a dramatic weekend on Central Oregon's political scene, Hillary Clinton's campaign announced Friday night that former President Bill Clinton will return to the High Desert - one day after Barack Obama's Bend town hall - this time to hold a "Bring Your Ballot" event at Redmond's Obsidian Middle School on Sunday afternoon.

Taking no state - or part of a state - for granted in the down-to-the-wire battle, Clinton will host three such special events Sunday, first in Pendleton, then Baker City and finally at the Redmond middle school's cafeteria, 1335 SW Obsidian Ave.

The gatherings are " to encourage Oregonians to bring and cast their ballots at an official ballot collection point at the event" - a nod to Oregon's unique all-mail-ballot system for its May 20 primary.

All of the events are free and open to the public, the campaign said. Members of the public wishing to attend are encouraged to RSVP at the Website Link.

The anouncement there states, "One random winner will get a chance to meet Bill Clinton!"

It also says people will get to sign a petition calling for a debate in Oregon between Hillary Clinton and Obama - something Obama has refused to agree to, saying he instead wants to meet with voters.

Bill Clinton drew a large crowd to a March 31 rally at Bend High School on behalf of his wife, who has steadfastly refused calls to drop out of the race and has won several, but not all contests in recent weeks, keeping the delegate margin tight.

This video, which was posted above by someone, is really very good. I think that maybe HQ should consider incorporating unsolicited supporter videos like this one (but obviously a shorter version) in conjunction with their usual professional advertising in the general election. The Obama campaign's(grass roots) message is even more powerful when the message actually comes from the grass root seedlings.

This particular video, edited for length, would play well in W. Virginia, but obviously time is short.

Thanks for the welcome. I just don't want anyone to think that this was my video. I didn't even find it. It was posted several minutes earlier by someone else. However, I thought it was good and it gave me the idea that the campaign might think about using amateur supporter (grass rooter's) videos like this as part of the their advertising come the general election (after Hillary finally gets out of the way).

At first I really liked the lady and what she stood for, however as time went on, I begin to change my views.

Every time I read something on any blog, its about how negative her campaign has gotten..

I hope Obama can unit the two parties.

A few days back I read that Hillary my go "Independent" and we don't want that to happen, because it would cause a major problem between for the Democratic Party!

So now I realize why Obama may have to assist her in finances by doing a "Fund Raiser"

What a shame, because, Hillary won't quit until she can't win no matter what happen.

2016 doesn't even look good for her at this point.

I have been thinking a lot about this lately only to have my thoughts supported by more than one newspaper here at home in Canada and in the US. Most of us have been asking the question "why is she still in it?" "Why doesn't she get out now so we can all get on with the inevitable task of supporting Barack's campaign against McCain?" The only answer that makes ANY sense to me is that she is positioning herself for 2012. This is why the 'pundits' are almost all expressing concern that her staying in the race now is not about why....but how. What arguments does she make and to what extent does she continue to attack Barack? If she stays on her current course, it is clear to me that she does so in support of McCain (gas tax holiday etc.) and squarely in support of a McCain win. A McCain win is most definitely a one term proposition which puts her clearly in a position to answer in 2012. After all, Barack has already stated that he would only run this one time. 2012 is her new finish line, her new goalpost, her new moment in history and she knows it.

And so I am thrilled that the campaign has taken the recent view that they are transitioning into the general election now rather than later. Only by taking on McCain now, can we avoid the 'noise' that is most likely to come from the HRC camp. Particularly after she wins the next two primaries. They will ramp things up. She will not be able to make a math argument and so her only choice will be to attack Barack alongside McCain. If this ends up being the case, she risks exposing her true motivations and this risks a serious backlash from other democrats across the nation. It can only hurt her prospects for 2012.

All of this is mute of course when we realize that Barack is going to be president for at LEAST 8 years!

But remember, this is the first time in history that a woman has a REAL chance of being president. And this, no matter how it appears, is not a selfish motive. This means a lot to so many women, and I think we should try to understand why her supporters are so dedicated, rather than just speculating as to her "true motivations"...I'm not so sure it's as black and white as this, do you?

you're right - it does mean an awful lot to a lot of women. i don't really get it, personally -

it's not as though women in america are powerless or oppressed - there are plenty of very powerful women ... the secretary of state is a woman, for example.

and internationally, female leaders are old hat. off the top of my head: golda meir, indira ghandi, mrs corazon, benazir bhutto, margaret thatcher, angela merkel, the current president of liberia, whose name escapes my old brain ... some of these women were simply dreadful, but that's the thing: just because someone's a woman doesn't mean she won't be an awful person/rotten leader, whatever whatever ...

still, you're right - to some women it seems to count for a lot, and we should bear in mind how upset they'll be ...

sorry to disagree ladies, but the fact of the matter is (at least from where i sit), HRC couldn't give a crap if its blacks, whites, hispanics, women, men, hard working americans, lazy freakin americans, or three headed beasts who are supporting her.....her game is to shape WHOEVER is in her corner as her foundation for the future. Women may care but i'm not satisfied that she is taking them into account in her decision-making except to the extent that they can help her. I know that many here may see this dialogue as 'contrary' to the quiet confidence of this campaign, but the truth is that we are all wiser by knowing our advesaries and HRC has been adversary No. 1....until now. I really get the feeling the Clinton's are running for 2012.

They want to destroy the party enough that Barack will lose so they can win in 2012.

They are using Bill as the marker....he one after 12 years of republican rule.

She is working daily to divide the party with race and class wedge issues.

She is talking as if "these are MY voters, those are Yours"

Maybe it is just me but I don't believe for a second that she will give any real help to Barack in the general.

Thanks to the generosity of many who donated their valuable frequent flyer miles, we’ve sent 29 out-of-state volunteers to TX / OH, 32 to PA, 17 to IN / NC, 1 to WV, 1 to OR, and 6 to MT.

This means ***2,150,000 MILES*** have been donated to date -- putting ***86 VOLUNTEERS*** on the ground, helping bring it home for Barack.

VOLUNTEERS: If you want to spend a week or more in SD or MT, but can't afford to pay your own way, contact me and I'll try to match you with an airline ticket. (WV, OR, and KY are too soon, and we can’t send you to Puerto Rico; it takes too many miles as PR is considered the Caribbean, not the U.S.)

DONORS: It takes 25,000 miles for a ticket. So -- who's got at least 25,000 on the same airline which they'd like to donate toward making sure Barack Obama is our next President?

Step right up -- I'm getting requests almost daily from volunteers who want to help but can't afford the airfare. Ok I heard that some HRC supporters and undecideds are reading our blogs trying to decide whether or not to cross over and support Barack.

Rodriguez--rogue delegate? | Report to Admin

Breaking news today May 28, is that Kevin Rodriquez just switched back to Clinton. Phone calls to his residence in St. Thomas are met with a message that the phone is no longer in service. A local St. Thomanian believes he no longer lives in the Territory but did not relinquish his voter registration card when he left for the states. I am attempting to verify all this now.
