I have to say I really liked seeing the two of them together. Hillary's speech was good. I liked the part about McSame and MCBush being the same side of a coin and not adding up to change. You know I always believed that Hillary did not really get 18 million votes.

How and why did I think that because of the massive massive crowds Obama drew where ever he went like what was it 75,000 and it was so close.

I know that Republicans were crossing over because of Rush and also because McCain voters knew Obama would give McCain the greatest greatest challenge and would lose! McCain Hillary the same!

Also look at crowds that McCain is getting and also has very small even right now.That is why all the smears ugly smears fifly smears with carl rove you name it . Why McCain does not have it period being "in" a war is no experience or qualifications to become President--all are children men and women but that does not give you the high qualifictions for President period.

Obama is very intelligent the same as Bill Clinton--highly both intelligent!

I knew that something is not right! That explains also these women they were never Dems always Republicans-- look at the women to their ages those that come come!

A mere three weeks after the primary season, Barack Obama's supporters and critics alike are charging him with multiple back-flips. They say he's backed away from pledges to accept public financing, opt out of NAFTA and oppose eavesdropping legislation.
Obama has admitted using "overheated" rhetoric on NAFTA during the primaries. But he's said his other positions haven't changed.

The latest talk of an Obama reversal came Thursday as the Supreme Court on Thursday struck down D.C.'s handgun ban as unconstitutional.

The Republican National Committee circulated a February Obama interview -- just before the D.C. primary -- in which he voiced support for the handgun ban.

Even liberal blogger Ezra Klein noted that Obama's "campaign flipped its position on the constitutionality of the D.C. handgun ban."

But Obama said Thursday he has consistently supported an individual right to bear arms, though that right is not "absolute." He even praised Justice Antonin Scalia's ruling for providing "much-needed guidance to local jurisdictions."

"As President, I will uphold the constitutional rights of law-abiding gun-owners, hunters, and sportsmen," Obama added. "I know that what works in Chicago may not work in Cheyenne."

John McCain's campaign has seized on Obama's changing positions to undercut his image as a change agent who represents a break from politics as usual. So far to no avail.

Political analysts don't see anything exceptional about Obama shifting after the primaries for the general election. They also note that McCain has switched positions on issues such as offshore drilling and the Bush tax cuts.

What's unusual is that Obama seems able to let go of inconvenient positions without breaking a sweat.

"I'd say he has three things going for him," said Hoover Institution research fellow Bill Whalen. "He happens to be a very charming individual," with far more charisma than John Kerry or Al Gore.

"The tail wind of a Democratic year" is also keeping Obama aloft, despite missteps, Whalen said. And, finally, he's being helped by "fawning media."

Obama did take a hit on op-ed pages for backing out of his pledge to accept public financing. But Whalen said that was "a lover's spat," not a break-up.

Obama said that the public finance system was broken and that no agreement was possible with the McCain campaign to rein in attack ads by independent political groups.

But liberal commentator Mark Shields accused Obama of "a flip-flop of epic proportions."

Independent pollster John Zogby said Obama's formidable political skills have been critical.

"He is very resilient and good on his feet," Zogby said. And Obama "counter-punches" in a way that recent Democratic standard-bearers have not, he said.

Obama also is under fire for supporting a reauthorization of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act. Obama says he wants to strip out a provision that would provide retroactive immunity for telecom companies. But even if that provision survives, as expected, he will support the bill.

Liberal blogger Atrios named Obama "Wanker of the Day."

During the primaries, Obama pledged to oppose any wiretap bill with retroactive immunity.

Obama denies any switch. "My view on FISA has always been that the issue of the phone companies per se is not one that overrides the security interests of the American people."

I do not see the media helping him. In fact, the media is trying to make it look like he has flip-flop by not accurately and fully stating what Senator Obama says in the beginning. Senator Obama always put qualifiers on his statements especially regarding doing what is in the best interest of this country.

Oh, that is Okay-in fact it is great to see Obama flip on the issues he so proudly campaigned against in the primary. It is good to see he is a new kind of politician and all he has to keep repeating is Change and Hope. Forget the details-for he is Obama the man! Patti Solis Doyle is expected to do some surrogate work for the Obama campaign to help woo Latino voters, according to the campaign's communications director, Robert Gibbs.

Gibbs responded to a question from a Latino reporter who asked what surrogates the campaign might roll out in its effort to court the Latino community's voters. Gibbs said, "We will fold in surrogates that have been helpful to the Clinton campaign."

I asked him if Clinton's former campaign manager, Solis Doyle, would be one of those surrogates.

"I believe she will be," said Gibbs. "We have obviously hired her to do a very specific job to be the chief of staff to the eventual vice-presidential nominee and I think that's the job that we hired her to do and we expect her to do and we expect that to take up most of her time."

If you've been watching Presidential preference polls over the past week, you might feel a bit whipsawed.

For the second straight day, Gallup's daily tracking poll Thursday has John McCain and Barack Obama tied. Both candidates dropped a point from yesterday's tracking poll, down to 44 percent. The margin of error is +/- 2 percentage points.

The Rasmussen daily tracking poll in the same period of time has shown a 3-7 point gap between the two candidates.

Neither of the daily tracking polls square with two polls from that show Barack Obama holding a stunning double-digit lead. A Los Angeles Times/Bloomberg poll showed Obama with a 12 point lead over McCain, and a Newsweek poll had Obama leading by 15 points, if Ralph Nader and Bob Barr were included in the mix. ...

Andrew Romano writes in his Newsweek blog, 'Stumper:' "The problem here is that unlike race, age and gender, party ID is fluid--and even extreme swings might reflect actual changes in the mood of the electorate. 'This is a canard,' says NEWSWEEK polling maestro Larry Hugick when asked about the McCain memo [which charged that the party ratios were wrong]. 'Both parties do it. But ID isn't a fixed property. In fact, it's associated with the candidates. It's been proven that as a candidate goes up in the polls, so does his party. Same when a candidate goes down.'"

As the season wears on, there are likely to be plenty of differences among the slew of surveys. Pollsters commonly caution that each poll is "just a snapshot in time." And the focus has to be just right.

This used to be a place of "Bliss", the Community Blogs. But there's no UNITY in the COMMUNITY.
Too much dissention. Too many smarty-pants correcting grammar instead of listening to the message. Too many wanna-bees, ain't never gonna bees to count. This is not about YOU. It's about WE.

Somewhere along the way, some of us have lost the meaning of working together for change. WE can blame it on the trolls, or the Clintonistas, or the old folks or the inexperienced, but WE all need to check ourselves out. What part are you playing here, are you getting the word out about this wonderful candidate who is fighting everyday for respect from the MSM, for support from Hillary supporters, for money from the Obama supporters because he opted out of Public Funding.
He's giving us every ounce of strength he has, and WE're acting like a bunch of spoiled children. Not all of us, but enough that it matters, enough that this community blog is suffering.

WE are either going to get busy winning here, or we'll be busy losing the presidency of the United States. This is not a joke, a game of chance or a sports event. This is not the Olympics. This is a matter of life & death.

We are paying $4.17 a gallon where I live for gas...
We are getting salmonella food poisoning from one thing and another as we consume products that are not regulated ...
We are facing record heat temperatures for the summer. . .
and so on and so on. Yet, here in this place, where warriors once led the way, there are petty people who post and post until they drive regular bloggers away. Talking loud and saying nothing.
Get it together people, the whole wide world is depending on us. The whole wide world is depending on us to elect this man, to bring sanity back to this planet!!

I am one of those clinton supports. I live in michigan where are votes dont count. I feel that when the senate and the house realized our votes didnt matter they started to back Obama. Its not anything about nobody likes her. Me personal, I turly and pasionitly belived in her. So for Obama supports (from the beginning) want to win over our broken hearts is not to slam us or critisize us but to comfort us to reasure us that is one unitied party. I like what i seen on youtube tonite. I feel that Hillary would not only support Obama but would be the best running mate, we are talking about that Obama and Hillary are the current top 2 democrates in the party it only makes sense. If we (all democrates) want to beat the repudlicans, that we need the ultimate ticket. we need to stop this economy and turn it around. we need to stop the oil companies monoplyand start to see lower gas prices. we need to stop wageing war on all these other countries. we need health care for all Americans. yes. but not because i don't like HRC, I do like her. I went to a fundraiser a year or so ago that she was at, she is amazing. But I don't think she is the best choice. There are others that would add more to the ticket.

Let me rephrase that. It is Yes to minding! I do mind. Playing nice today is for the "unity" of the DEMOCRATIC Party! You know that which as a whole gets one into the WH!

A birdie tells me he will not choose her. He needs to be able to put forth his agenda without the drama, the drama occurs simply out of multiple Alpha personalities at the feeding trough.

And Bill will not stand to be vetted. You really must understand that he/they have nefarious business dealings with world corps and no way do they want that exposed. Bill actually said to BO not to vet him as if the people at large would stand for that! Sorry, but the Clintons are entreprenuers when it comes to the office of the Presidency which I mean that they and only they will be the rulers! It is not that BO can't work with others but that Hill/Bill have to be the first and last word. While it is true I have a deep dislike historically for this couple along with a renewed deeper dislike based on their business dealings, I am now just talking about personalities that which many of us cannot truly change within ourselves if we are to be true to oneself. As much as I try to design things in an economical and simple way, I never fail to be complex and bold--just can't shake it.

But, hey, lucky for us I am not running for office!

Wow! I hope he never picks her because as hard as it is for me to say, this would be my FISA issue. I would never support that ticket and i'm black. I would risk one term of McBush than 2 terms and maybe even FOUR terms of Hillary. Gosh 4 terms, I couldn't do that. Myself, some independents and a hell of a lot of Republicans would rush back to the right with the idea of 4 terms of Hillary. Just thinking about it scares me. 4 terms. Ugh!!

However, I'm hopeful he won't do it anyways. I'll bet a kidney that he wouldn't do it because there are a lot of us who would less likely vote for him. It sounds crazy but looking at HRC, McSame doesn't seem all that bad. Everytime I see her McSame doesn't look all that bad. Just curious? What policies of Obama do you agree with? Could you really risk having four more years of the current policies? Doesn't the war in Iraq or our horrible economic problems bother you? Does it matter that our children cannot get a decent education in America? It doesn't bother you that McCain does not believe in any women's issues? It's like choosing a business partner, the person should share your leadership style not just your values.

This is why many initial partnerships end up parting ways or even in the courtroom.

They may look good together but would they really work well together in such an important role?

Then, you have Bill Clinton being part of the deal.

IMHO, being a surrogate on the campaign trail does not qualify Hillary for a VP spot. Also, IMHO, it will never happen.. the Clinton(s) will never make it through the VP vetting process because Bill will never agree to release his Foundation Financial records conributors). Also, IMHO, Hillary will continue to do great things in the Senate or as possible head of HHS.

There is no reason to give her that position.

I was very impressed with both Senators Obama and Clinton today with their attempt to unite the party and their supporters. I would also like to add that the GOP's personal attacks on Obama signals strong jealousy. It just kills them to see a Black man reach this far and will do and say anything to try and stop Obama. From Obama being Anti-Christ to him being selfish and too ambitious. Quite frankly, I don't know how they survived this long with such weak strategies but I get the feeling Obama will open a floodgate to more ambitious and capable Black people, and maybe that worries the bigot but its time for change. Its either we go in a new direction with Obama or doom ourselves to ruin with McCain.

Additionally, those supporters who CLAIM to be Hillary's supporters and who will vote for McCain instead of OBAMA come November are pretending DEMOCRATS. If they are too short sighted and selfish to help cause change then McCain deserves to have them. Let them follow McCain blindly because with or without them America is destined for this change.

A good strategy now would be to send out Obama for change teams across all fifty states. These teams would comprise of twenty or so experts and committed politicians centered on specific big issues. The teams would be dispatched to locations identified as needing more detailed information and dialogue relating to one issue. They could have a dual recognisant role in gathering feedback and policy improvements which would be utilised to enhance BO's platform. As an example, Al Gore could lead the Obama Environment team with 20 or so others who are passionate about renewabe energy, nuclear energy, waste recycling. This team could start of in Florida and move around the country on demand by voters or where locals offices identify potential environmental hotspots. Hillary could lead Obama's Healthcare team and do the same starting in a different state, John Edwards could lead the Obama Urban Growth team, some one (not sure who) can lead and Economic team and also an Infrastructure team and there would be a Rural Recognition Team. This way there's more detail going out and greater potential for dialogue coming back to HQ. It also highlights his ability to organise government prior to getting into the White House. It would also keep MSM busy keeping up with the state of play rather than just focused on him.

The town, the crowds, the love of both Hillary and Barack were remarkable. If you have an opportunity to see him live---I urge you to make the early morning trek, it's well worth the sense of empowerment.
