John Sidney McCain III has his ghost writer Mark Salter now claiming that the "cross in the dirt" story wasn't a pivotal moment, contradicting what McCain said on Saturday and from an interview last year. It's obvious that Salter is trying to minimize a story that McCain himself was hyping just two days earlier. What's he afraid of?
