Kathy, 51, of Grantsburg, WI is opening up her home to for a Convention Watch Party tonight, and she’s excited about bringing people together for some grassroots organizing. “We’re expecting between 15 to 30 people to come, and we’ll be ready with registration lists and stickers to pass out.” As an Independent, Kathy voted for George Bush in the last two elections. Today, she is supporting Barack Obama because of his message of unity and his call for an end to the divisive politics of the past.
Here in Wisconsin, we’ve been living in a very divisive community for a long time. And it is refreshing to finally have a politician who wants to bring everyone together.
Tonight, Kathy plans to do more than just throw a party, as she looks forward to the chance to start rebuilding her community from the bottom up.
We’re a big town that is really spread out, so it will be good to get together and talk about running some phonebanks and signing up more volunteers. We’re in a poor economic area of the country, and with high gas prices and having to drive everywhere, it’s very hard. Our country is just on the wrong path right now.
Kathy is excited to turn this country around with Barack Obama as the next President. You can join our millions of volunteers around the country by being a part of the grassroots movement. Start by bringing together your own community today by attending a watch party, or hold an event this weekend during the Convention Weekend of Action.
